You cannot say that emotions are just in two catagories. That is called False Dilemma. When you only give two sides to an argument. Fear is the absence of knowledge. Love is too abstract to determine. That is like saying I like music. What kind of music do you enjoy? Jazz, rock, what style--fast, slow.
There are two worlds abstract and concrete, and there are many ways that it is synthesized from person to person (this is philosophy). To see that various people have various outcomes means various methods do work. The question is, how synthesized is that outcome? The more that a person synthesizes there abstract skills, then the better chance of IT being more complete in the offset, in its final concrete form.
I had to stop at feelings. You do have feelings becuase you are in a body. You are both, matter and spirit. Feelings, just like thoughts, can be abstract--what is held in the mind. Anything outside the mind is object--that is fact. Giving a loved one a rose. That is an abstract feeling made concrete. A feeling given expression--why? So that another person could be made to feel more visible.
Every human lives in thier own subjective world, but we reach across from our minds to theirs by what method? By an object--whether that is a rose, a kiss or sex. Why? Becuase abstract thoughts cannot (yet) be given away to another wihtouth IT having a form (being made objective).
This is a great topic to discuss. I don't consider myself an objectivist, but I do understand your points. Emotions fall into 2 categories: Love and Fear. Love is the positive side, and Fear is the negative side. Love is the only objective and true emotion, while Fear is subjective and false emotion, because fear is based on false evidence (False Evidence Appearing Real). So, I agree with you.
after 'feelings', add 'fashion sense', 'shame', and 'anything remotely interesting to say' on the big list of stuff you don't have.
