What I believe is the saddest thing for music is the era of the band is gone forever. Now it's about dressing up like an idiot, going to a stadium with 90,000 others, where a DJ spins canned music and this is entertainment ala Electric Daisy Concert or a shit rap no talent concert. Our youth are morons. I think about the Beatles (the greatest) and all those bands before and after them and now it is all gone. It was the greatest time ever and our young will never know!
The Beatles Revolution TV special - Celebrities explain how The Beatles (who only appear in archival footage) and their music touched their lives.
This was the point of this special, it wasn't like the 1995 documentary about how they got statred up until their break up. Its about what an impact and influence they had on these people....famous celebes, singers, musicians, etc. This is for the next time someone asks why is so and so being interviewed.
I think that the Beatles and the stones started the British invasion and kind of... formed a path... kind of.... For all the other amazing bands To follow, like the who, the kinks, ext
I do not criticize, tastes are tastes I prefer the Beatles a group that is in this video: The Who in my opinion those who invented rock. (sorry for the English I'm Italian)
No one was as great as John with his childish grin. I miss that guy and his music. Today they probably couldn't get a record made. Basically all crap today.
@skipper8257 yea...John probably would fail miserably on "American Idol" by the way,,,I havn't seen anyone on "am idol" that does'nt completly SUCK!! Never seen a bigger collection of crap pawning themselves off as talent in my life!! That Simon dude wouldn't know Beatle talent if it kicked him in the ass

There is this giant fantasy about how the Beatles did what they liked without worrying what people thought. What rubbish. Of course they were concerned about their image.
Theey worked really hard to maintain the image that they did what they liked without worrying about what people thought. It's SHOW business. It's all pretend.
In reality they got married, settled down, bought houses, had kids, and invested their millions.
I love the Beatles, and I am old enough to remember their first appearance on American TV. Their music holds as much relevance for me today, as it did then. Having said that, even the Beatles admit that their influences were Americans from the 50s, including Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins. I think that's one of the things that's been so great about rock - it foments back and forth between the US and UK, each side embellishing and updating.
Pete, Keith, Bono (and of course John itself) are just incredible, they're able to inspire you just by saying a few words. Anyway greetings from Italy!
Wow...hahaha! You must be really ignorant. I'll sum it up for you, buddy:
The Beatles appreciated black music; it most definiately influenced them. But what was so unique about the Beatles was that they reinvented what they knew in a way that had never been done before. Obviously, there's more to it than that - the Beatles (individual & group) were insanely talented. Do your research before you spew inaccuracies.
lol, everyone knows the Beatle's loved black music, but they loved many things about American music, Everly Brothers, Elvis, Roy Orbison etc, etc... they went far beyond typical "black" music... not many black songs like Strawberry Fields, No Reply, She Said She Said are there? not until people like Prince tried to copy Lennon much later. The influence goes round and round.
Listen to black music today, one big long stupid song with the same "sex attitude" all over again and again.
There is some good music out there. You have to look for it though. Yes the 50', 60's, 70's and 80's were the best times for music. The 90's had some good music(Nirvana, Pearl Jam) but not like the preceding decades.
I am the musician I am today because of them. Their music was my "sanctuary" while I grew up in an out of control, abusive environment. Their beautiful music helped me stay sain. They were my personal ANGELS!
My mafia dad was married 9 times...I am the 1st child of his 1st wife. NUFF SAID???
Too true. 90s alternative was a good era, too. Music wasn't commercialized then like it is now. And bands help each other out and jammed with each other instead of tring to see who can sell out the fastest. Music is pretty bad today.
very true Rap music the way it beacme in th 90's was like a canceer. when you show videos of half-naked women is that suppossed to be art. remember Juvenile in his song slow motion his umm sounds sounded like he was constipated
yeah me too, you see, the thing is that the 60´s and 80's were alike, times of big changes, times of revolution. The 90's was more depressing, you have your generation x at the beigning and comercial teen pop grupos at the end.
i agree, gangsta rap, hip hop, even R&B became filthy and lewd; i am glad that Rap has fallen;people are getting sick of it. The likes of Ja Rule, Jay Z and P.Diddy are not artists; they are womanizers and blood thirsty beasts
John should have said what he wanted to say really which was, "(Those of you in the cheaper seats clap your hands, and the rest of you just rattle your fucking jewellery"), Epstien begged him to change it,

The Beatles are timeless. You didn't have to be around back then. We all love The Beatles. You may as well ask why Kate Hudson is in this.

Why is Mike Meyers even in this? He was born in 1963!!!! He didn't experience the Beatles at all!
