Weren't you paying attention? He SAYS in Episode 10 why the cops were after him. He was mad that his ex-wife got to keep the house after the breakup, so he barricaded himself inside of it for 6 weeks. The courts then ordered the SWAT team to remove him from the premises. He says that right in the beginning!!
