The most famous magane bashi (this one) is in Nagasaki, just up from Dejima, the only foreign settlement during sakoku.

Interesting thing about that commercial. I have been to Megane Bashi ther and you have to walk up a few stairs to get on the bridge, so you can't actually ride a bike across.
Nice commercial though.
