I think my favorite part of this song, aside from the really dark tones that express the evil that is the Emperor, is how it incorporates the Imperial March into it, showing his influence over Vader and the entire galactic body that is the Empire.

Yet at the same time, the March is "mutated" and seems distorted, as though it were corrupted.

Had the empire not been destroyed and replaced by a struggling new republic its quite likely the yuuzhan vong would not have succeeded in advancing to the inner planets and taking as many lives as they did. Palpatine was aware of a great many things, and did what he believed was right, and necessary. The emperor was not really even "evil" depending on how you define the term. Actually..the empire enjoyed a great period of prosperity and security opposed to the old republic. there was oppression in some parts of the galaxy but overall quality of life remained high. Its also evident the emperor foresaw the yuuzhan vong invasion some time ago..one of his goals in controlling the republic was to bolster our military might in preperation for the invasion

Palpatine s one of my favorites because he manipulated everyone he ever met so that he could become the most powerful being in the galaxy. @jamesdean220103 Well, it seems like a lot of the time in fiction, writers give their villains a backstory where there weren't originally evil, but turned to it due to some kind of tragedy or trauma. I guess they do it to add depth to the character, but a lot of the time it just comes across as overdone and maudlin. And besides, sometimes it's nice to see a villain who's just evil for evil's sake.

Take Hitler ..he was not evil for evil's sake. He believed he was doing good for the world , that his vision was correct, and it resulted in great atrocities. Seeing villians who are evil and go "ahahaha my evil diabolical plan will be completed" is unrealistic. No one is evil for evils sake.

And all of this for political gain.
