I offered to help when there is no tank, but the problem is that some jobs offer a better result. for example, I can't usully show up for Fafnir, Tiamat, or sea Gods on DNC because I have a BLM with full merits and I also have the best gear possible for blm, so my DNC is too weak if you compare what I can do on my BLM even though I probably have a full HQ DNC. I hope FF14 won't make the same mistake.
well it really depends on how you look at it, i see you point there, and its a good one, as i said other jobs are good for more specific things, blm aint a tank, not really a healer but can heal some, they are a magic DD, or back line job DD a war is a melee DD but, blm would still be more useful it most cases for such events, dnc could pick up the slack for other jobs or make other jobs even more useful, like lowering magic eva, for rdm's enfeebles, or eva for phys attackers can stun but

i have a galk, and a mithra, rdm 75X2 mithra dnc 75 and 11 other 75s, ya i was pretty pathetic playing a lot lol but leveling dont mean much, i played for almost 6 years over 1000 days of play time with both accounts combined although i quit awhile ago, but this was my most favorite game, thinking about starting again but idk, too time consuming, was kinda ruining my RL so i had to stop playing lol on galka i have a 75 pld, my mithra dnc can out tank it, in SOME cases, being blood tank

DNC is pretty strong job, but they are not wrong; RDM would help more than your DNC for most endgame stuff. There is always a use for any job in endgame; it is just that many people know little about the other jobs and I'm in Ragnarok. I was on beh but did not like the server "too many people" come to Rag ! :D
Make sure there is a wall behind you. do not face the NM and attack it from behind. About the gear, you will find everything I use for DNC on FFXAH. you will switch to EVA, ACC, Haste and use some steps that will actually make your stun land, or use Magic ACC gear. You will need merit points prolly. GL ^^
and about the NQ behemoth its a joke lol, we killed with 2 RDMS, myself and my buddy /nin straight tanking and melee style with no problems, killed it with 1 rdm and 1 dnc before effortless never tried solo but dou was cake
although i quite ffxi awhile back, dnc can solo ash dragon need proper merits/gear and need NO adds, so if u have people there killing the bombs and junk its fine unfortunately at the time i didn't think to record, most things i dont record not thinking or dont have time for it lol, /nin is the way to go took a lot of attempts, was no walk in the park, what kept killing me was void song, as for the goobue i never got to try and btw, awesome solo, i wish i still played, makes me want to

I've been working on Ash Dragon on and off for years, Even on my old first account. The lowest I've got it is 40%, then some unlucky TP move gets off and I get 1-shot =/.
I wanna solo Ancient Goobbue; every time I try, I die and the NM's HP is like less than 25% :( Try it, it is always up and tell me about the result. I feel like I'm using the wrong gear ^^;; oh Ash Dragon sounds fun & scary. I have no idea about it so can't tell if a dancer can kill it.
Ash Dragon is a really long fight, and it has to be straight tanked. I always die from the TP move Body Slam it can take 1~2(maybe 3) shadows but even if 1 hit lands it does close to 1,200 DMG and 1-shots me. It also does a Curse that puts me HP to 220 from 1,100ish.. and Voidsong that takes all buffs+food off and removes all enfeebles on itself. You should try it :D even if you die post the video i'd love to see how it works out.
btw, what makes DNC too good at soloing is that they have a job ability "Fandance" -90% DMG so nothing physical can 1-shot a dancer, and every time you refresh fandance you get -90% DMG. it is like a RDM converting everytime.
