I like it. It almost hints at Luke's possible dangerous flirtation with the dark side, with him in a black robe and everything. They should have kept that.
Meh... Don't like how vader talks in this, the Lukes are kinda overdone. Still, like top comment said, much better than the stupid embarrasing-to-watch dance number they decided to fit in instead...
Unlike most movies, I actually like watching deleted scenes from Star Wars. In fact, this is quite possibly the coolest deleted scene I have ever seen. Good stuff.
Cool scene. I like it, but I think the lightsaber reveal is better where it is in the film. I understand why it's not in the film, but it's nice to see on the DVD.
There's a scene like this in the book Shadows of the Empire. Luke spends part of the book cooking a gem, cutting it, putting together the hilt, and finally finishing it.
if you read return of the jedi, its in the book were Luke is searching for saber crystel on Tatoone and makes a new light saber in Ben's old hut. It is apart of the story..They should of put it in!
No, this SHOULD have been cut. If this scene was in the movie, than Luke's entrance in Jabba's palace wouldn't be nearly as badass because we already know he's on Tattooine. And when everyone is on Jabba's barge you would already know that Luke had a lightsaber. The suspense would have been ruined. With that said, this is a cool deleted scene and thanks for uploading it.
something about the first time we see luke doesn't seem right. his face doesn't seem real. but the second scene with him interacting with artoo seems legit. have they done a cgi luke? just as a teaser for the box set release? mark hamill didn't recall doing this scene when first asked about it, but changed his tune later.
green saber FTW

Long live the Empire! (Is it just me or does everyone love the Empire more than the rebels?)

That is my favourite Lightsaber sound, so lethal! Just hearing that would tell storm troopers not to mess around.

I am glad they cut out this scene. It is better when you don't know Luke and Lando are on Tatooine.

@TheKidsAreAllRed I absolutely agree, though AngeCord has a point as well, at least if you watch the movie for the first time.

@ergo197320031 The books were written after the movies, it's not like the movies were adaptations.

The scene actually fits quite well in within the movie, though it reveals maybe too much too soon. I see why they removed it. Nice to see it though
