If you wanna be considered stupid then Buy the Alienware. Its easy to assemble a PC or if you cannot assemble your PC, just go to the nearest PC store that can pricematch the price of newegg(depends on where you live) and then they will probably assemble it for $50+
Even if you are rich if you buy an Alienware people will laugh at you!
he puts the emphasis on 60 hertz,, so you can tell he doesnt understand a fucking thing about computers and is probably just some CoD retard reading a script.
Building one or buying an alienware is all the same if you know what's going into the machine. The prices might be different because of different hardware or manufacture costs. The feeling of you building your own should give you pride. but buying one you feel like you bought an expensive new ride. As long as the consumer is happy with what they have is all that matters. Don't get mad if people buy one and say "you wasted your money idiot". Keep rude comments to yourself. No one likes trolls...
Lol what idiots... These guys have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. I hate people that say you need a "gaming computer." All a gaming computers are powerful PCs. They have good processors and good graphics processors. Alienware is for idiots who can't build the machine for themselves and have absolutely no clue what's in the box under their desk.
Aleinwares suck, they cheap out on every part and then give it a "okay" graphics card. I have a computer that is 10 years old and it has a much better CPU then todays Aleinwares. :\
@MasakoXer Okay I'm back I have a new computer. Blows the shit out of my friends aurora. You're just jealous because you're the only one that got sucked into buying a piece of junk. :P have nice day mr. troll
Why is this retard correlating blue screens of death to his custom build? You're more likely to get it with the dell pieces of shit. Also, you get a much longer warranty on custom build parts than alienware computers.
Please reply to this soon. I'm thinking of buying a Alienware Aurora ($2200) and a Alienware M18x ($2000, Laptop) is this a good buy or should I buy a custom? And why?
Buy gaming pc from websites who sell them or buy parts and build it. For the price of $2200 you can a really good computer. Really the big price tag of alienware is based on the fact of the case and wall paper :/ Really just build one.
@BigWhiteHeadPhones build your own, you can build a computer for 1.2k that would cost 3k+ on alien, also the laptop ur better off with an asus g74sx for 1.85k and prob double the specs
@masteircheef did you actually build a gaming computer for that price that can run bf3 on ultra?? cause thats amazing, and at what resolution? also, do u think u could give me the specs. i'd like to know.
@1BYEBYE1 well maybe i exxagerated a teeny bit :3 lmao i dont actually own the game, but i have been told it could probobly run on mixed high/ultra settings, most of the preformance comes from my processor, amd 1055t. i mean i can run alot of games on really high settings, i can run crysis maxed out for sure. gpu is a gt 440, might upgrade to like a gtx 500 series of some sort

@carcrazy1995 ya lol i just built one my self about a month ago, it cost me $1500. i went to the alienware website, and look for a computer with similar specs. i found one with worse specs for about $2500.
Do not buy these computers they suck donkey balls. I know from xp. I had so many problems that could not even play VIDEO GAMES ON A CPU MADE 4 F'N GAMING!!!!!!!!!!! Blue screens, freezing and bad graphic cards. trouble shooting for hours and techs coming over but to no resolve. Also took so much fighting and argueing with alienware to give me my money back. Had it for a month and a half and never worked properly. ALIENWARE IS SHIT!!!!!
@SirSmighty Yeah!!! Okay!!! I bet you don't know that Alienware glue there components to stop you from upgrading. You really need to put the money away and build an actual PC. But, I guess I'm talking crap, as I've been working with computers all of my life. That's okay.
@Philmyassin WHATTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!!? dude i've upgraded everything in my alienware no spot of glue anywhere... that's the wildest thing i've ever heard.

@mihailimitlessHD hahahahaha it has 512gb of hard disk space not RAM big difference lol you cant use RAM for saving and installing games. That is what the hard drive is for. 512gb hard drive.
@Applejailbreaker1 All desktops are the same, it just depends if you have the money to go for it. Alienware laptops are terrible because they desktop components. @PerryVolts I have an i5 processor on my Alienware and it works just as well as any i7 processor. I can run BF3 on the highest graphics without taking too much power
@PerryVolts the difference between the i7 and the i5 is hyperthreading. now what HT is, is where the i7 uses 4 virtual cores. those virtual cores are called hyperthreading, so th i7 is and 8 core proccesor in that regard, but the i5 has no hyperthreads, all it has a 4 physical cores. but the thing is games dont use those hyperthreads so the i7 and the i5 are the exact same thing when it comes to gaming so just save your money and get the i5
@assassin26764 that's false. some i5's only have 2 cores and 4 threads. ark.intel.(com)/products/52229/Intel-Core-i5-2520M-Processor-(3M-Cache-2_50-GHz)
alienware have always been overpriced BUT now that dell bought them out they really blow balls.
anyone who buys a desktop alienware is a tool. if you need a laptop then for god-sake go to ibuypower or cyberpower. much cheaper, better built, better tested, better warranty, and a hell of alot more options/customization abilities
@MrRiddicknr1 yeah its like cars as you said, a rich person's comps. I've bought an alienware and is still running fine with cool features for a good 10 years now.
why are you complaining about 60hz 99% of the monitors out there run on 60hz the only reason you would buy a 120hz screen would be to run 3d on nvidia surround
Alienware, I understand you want to sell some PCs but please when trying to compare between manufacturer and building your own system get people who know what the fudge they are talking about.
@burtonisdead im pretty sure hes referring to the smoothness of the monitor, you know just like how HDTVs have Hz ratings? the higher the Hz, less motion blur, etc
Yeah, I know, but it just seems kind of dumb for them to be referring to that as if that increased their fps or something. A higher refresh rate only affects tearing, but these guys are probably dumb enough not to turn off vsync

hey so im getting an m14x is it worth it to pay the extra money for i7 or will the i5 work just as good?
PerryVolts 3 months ago
@PerryVolts I have an i5 processor on my Alienware and it works just as well as any i7 processor. I can run BF3 on the highest graphics without taking too much power
yomama629 3 months ago
@PerryVolts the difference between the i7 and the i5 is hyperthreading. now what HT is, is where the i7 uses 4 virtual cores. those virtual cores are called hyperthreading, so th i7 is and 8 core proccesor in that regard, but the i5 has no hyperthreads, all it has a 4 physical cores. but the thing is games dont use those hyperthreads so the i7 and the i5 are the exact same thing when it comes to gaming so just save your money and get the i5
assassin26764 3 months ago
@assassin26764 that's false. some i5's only have 2 cores and 4 threads. ark.intel.(com)/products/52229/Intel-Core-i5-2520M-Processor-(3M-Cache-2_50-GHz)

alienware have always been overpriced BUT now that dell bought them out they really blow balls.
anyone who buys a desktop alienware is a tool. if you need a laptop then for god-sake go to ibuypower or cyberpower. much cheaper, better built, better tested, better warranty, and a hell of alot more options/customization abilities

Well. I've been over the internet about these thingies and I've come to this conclusion:
This computer is a beast BUT you could build a computer with similar preformance for over 2000$ less.
Alienware is the computers version of a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. If you've got the cash, why not get that little extra to enhance your everyday?
Its cool. No matter how much energy you put into hating this, its still like buying the 200$ jeans instead of the 50$ ones.
Besides, Its all a matter of tast
MrRiddicknr1 4 months ago
@MrRiddicknr1 yeah its like cars as you said, a rich person's comps. I've bought an alienware and is still running fine with cool features for a good 10 years now.

why are you complaining about 60hz 99% of the monitors out there run on 60hz the only reason you would buy a 120hz screen would be to run 3d on nvidia surround
MrNeo369 4 months ago
Alienware, I understand you want to sell some PCs but please when trying to compare between manufacturer and building your own system get people who know what the fudge they are talking about.
Gajoobles 4 months ago
i build a custom pc a few months ago that cost me 3200 $, if i had bourght an alienware with same specs it would have cost me 5400 $
andreasfup 4 months ago
Really, 60hz and 120hz monitors, feel the same.

Alienwares are for people who cant be bothered and want to pay. A lot.
Necrotwilly 4 months ago
Absolute idiots, I built my PC for $1500, the thing is absolutely massive and out preforms the top of the line Alienware PC.
HiImNickWhoAreU 5 months ago
I figure building an alienware is $238 cheaper for the base aurora. It's not worth it to me.

The only reason the computer you built was crap was because the PARTS WERE CRAP.
This makes me feel sick...

120hz on a pc? What the hell are they talking about? I don't know if they're referring to monitors or performance? Someone help me out
burtonisdead 5 months ago
@burtonisdead im pretty sure hes referring to the smoothness of the monitor, you know just like how HDTVs have Hz ratings? the higher the Hz, less motion blur, etc
AtheerofArabia 5 months ago
@AtheerofArabiav
Yeah, I know, but it just seems kind of dumb for them to be referring to that as if that increased their fps or something. A higher refresh rate only affects tearing, but these guys are probably dumb enough not to turn off vsync

1080p? My computer runs at 1200p on six monitors. Lets see that toy do that. By the way, my PC was 1600$. Id like to see an Alien ware for that price come close to it's specs.
