Building one or buying an alienware is all the same if you know what's going into the machine. The prices might be different because of different hardware or manufacture costs. The feeling of you building your own should give you pride. but buying one you feel like you bought an expensive new ride. As long as the consumer is happy with what they have is all that matters. @PerryVolts the difference between the i7 and the i5 is hyperthreading. now what HT is, is where the i7 uses 4 virtual cores. those virtual cores are called hyperthreading, so th i7 is and 8 core proccesor in that regard, but the i5 has no hyperthreads, all it has a 4 physical cores. but the thing is games dont use those hyperthreads so the i7 and the i5 are the exact same thing when it comes to gaming so just save your money and get the i5

This computer is a beast BUT you could build a computer with similar preformance for over 2000$ less.

Alienware is the computers version of a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. If you've got the cash, why not get that little extra to enhance your everyday?
