  • isnt it dangerous to go in an abandoned mine?

  • @sixtdfson Depends. The mines in the desert areas of southern California tend to be hard-rock mines. They tend to be pretty solid. In wetter areas such as northern California and other states, mines are exposed to rain, snow, heat, humidity, and other factors that make them more dangerous due to weathering and erosion. Out in the desert, it's very arid, dry, and stable.

  • If it had Ore Car track it was a developed mine at one time. Who owns the property?

  • @pulesjet I don't think anybody owns the property. I think it's BLM land.

  • surprising no animals came out when you were going in.

  • What mine was this? Where? 3-way split I have not heard of before

  • @rgtsc01 This is located right on Boulder Creek Road. There is a series of vertical shafts and tunnels that go up the hillside in a straight line -- the miners were obviously following a vein of quartz. The mines are marked on topographic maps. Can't miss them.
