Its interesting after hearing her present popular music to where she was ten years ago. I am impressed with her range, but I dont think she has found her own voice yet. I think what she's making now is just a product she can sell (or is she the product being sold?) and what she made in the beginning was an imitation of others. But she is the best female artist that has come out in the last ten years, so Im not putting her down where she is now.
Rather than everyone arguing over Katy's religious beliefs or salvation, go out and do something that benefits others. No one knows Katy in real life so arguing, judging, or debating what her beliefs are does nothing for anyone.

And I don't believe we can really make comments about her faith and happiness - we don't know her. She has songs about the journey she has taken e.g Lost. But she is married, happily by the looks of it, is successful and has never said anything anti-religious. I don't see she is such a bad role model, religious or otherwise.

Its interesting after hearing her present popular music to where she was ten years ago. I am impressed with her range, but I dont think she has found her own voice yet. I think what she's making now is just a product she can sell (or is she the product being sold?) and what she made in the beginning was an imitation of others. But she is the best female artist that has come out in the last ten years, so Im not putting her down where she is now.

Katy changed her image because she got teased by the kids at her school for being a christian. She still has a great personality in my opinion, and if anything, God wants us to pray for her instead of judging her. That just goes to show how people can change because they're afraid of what others will think. She felt too sheltered. Whether or not she comes back into God's plan is between her and God only. It's not our job to make sure. We don't even know her.

And I don't believe we can really make comments about her faith and happiness - we don't know her. She has songs about the journey she has taken e.g Lost. But she is married, happily by the looks of it, is successful and has never said anything anti-religious. I don't see she is such a bad role model, religious or otherwise.

There are many who question God and the Bible, Thomas one Jesus's own disciples didn't believe either... so Jesus said to him after allowing Thomas to place his fingers in his wounds, "You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who have not seen me and yet believe." Faith is not "proving" anything, its believing. And God gave us that free will. I chose to believe. As for Katy, I think she is an outstanding artist, God has His own plans for her.

Ya know, for all those who are hatin on relogion, please realize that there are ways in which it helps people. It is beneficial to those who believe in it because it gives them a central idea to believe in. @Xnightsaber So using 'naughty' words is considered arrogant or ignorant? Sometimes in the real world, adults use profanity to punctuate their message or to add impact. Just because cultmembers think they are proving themselves to be more pious than others by not uttering words deemed by them to be bad doesnt mean a thing. Christians have the concept of "righteous anger" and use it all the time but those of us who KNOW the truth about Xtians are supposed to just automatically respect you?

What she sang then is still truth. Not only in the lives of everyone else, but in hers as well. I don't know a single Christian who hasn't went through a time of doubting, and a time of darkness. She's an extrodinary person, and God can still use her and will never stop fighting for her.

One of the reasons why i disagree with religion in general - there should be no set way to live your life other than to be as happy and peaceful as possible. So what if i want to fuck before i'm married? So what if i choose to have an abortion, or if i'm gay? The idea of 'satan' is only one that comes when you believe in god. No god, no satan. I don't hurt others. Yet i've 'sinned' on numerous occasions. Don't be afraid to live YOUR own life.

@Rakeedha I found my way to truth by studying the bible for 30 years. I studied the history of christianity and how the bible came to be in its current form. Once you look into it a little bit you see right away that this religion is man made and is a copy of other religions that were around during that time and others that came before it. It is a false and immoral belief system.

But even if I accept that your primitive anthropomorphic god exists and that we have free will, following his rules means not being myself, because I'm not interested in carrying out his wishes. I do what I want, and I'm happy. Talking to you is a waste of time because you allow a single ancient collection of texts to inform your entire worldview.

Katy Perry/Hudson has NOT fallen away from God. Even today she still proclaims that she is Christian (Catholic) and still attends Church regularly. However, she has to refrain from too obviously singing about Christianity/God, other wise many of her non-christian fans would leave. Katy is pretty talented. Sometimes to be a huge star you have to do things that are always going to be unaccepted by Christians. Personally as a artist myself I feel the same way she does. In order to be a huge star you can't always sing Christian music but you can still be a Christian woman. Her Katy Perry persona is a image to make her edgy and stand out unlike here as Katy Hudson
