  • i have the same dang rattle but by the radio

  • I bought a 2011 Corolla S in May 2011 and taken it to the shop more than 4 times. I even showed them what it is when the car was on the lift: there are 2 plastic deflectors on each side of the radiator. they are by design only attached on one side and you can move them sidewards about 5 inches, this produces a rattling noise which is the same when you drive the car on the freeway with a crosswind.

  • Just got back from the Toyota dealer with my '09 Corolla which had the same problem (rattle coming from passenger side dash). Turns out there IS a TSB (technical service bulletin) and a fix available. They had to order parts to fix the problem, but they were very accomodating, although they didn't tell me what the TSB number was.

  • My 2010 Toyota Corolla S also rattles like crazy. There appears to be rattling from the dash and the sunroof. There is also this crazy squeaking sound that comes from the back of the car and you hear the squeak over every bump in the road. I've taken it twice to the dealership and they haven't been able to fix the noises yet. I can't believe Toyota would build cars like this.

  • my 09 has the same issue

  • I have a 08 Elantra and from time to time i can hear rattles on the dashboard,it's because in today's vehicles, specially in small, compacts and mid size, they install too many pieces of hard plastic everywhere, door panels, dashboard, lower dashboard, dahsboard structure inside,i noticed that also when i drove the 2008 Lancer and my first impression was a black plastic interior all over the car,and with toyota i am wondering if they have lower their quality in recent years......

  • my corolla 09 with 17K rattles in the back like sh#@

  • Mine has almost 10K and what I noticed it's when coming to a stop, the engine hesitate trying to find the iddle, (like shaking a little). Does somebody has the same problem??

  • I have an '09 Honda Civic LX sedan and it has numerous rattles and buzzes that occur at various times. I took it in a few months ago to the Honda dealer and they addressed some of the issues but others couldn't be duplicated at that time so no fix. Good advice to wait until the 2nd or 3rd year of a model before buying.

  • Mine also make the same Rattling sound, I have noticed it only make the sound at 60km/h and at some rough road condition.

  • Mine does the same thing at the same spot. However, I've noticed that when I open and close the compartment, right below the mirror controls, it stops the rattling. I also get a few other noises on the side front passenger door panel... wonder if Toyota will ever make a recall or give me a free repair under warranty... all in all its a good car.

  • is it made in Japan or US?

  • Canada

  • I hear it crystal clear (especially at 16-20 seconds) because my car does the same thing. My 2009 Corolla only has 2000 miles but it started making that gieger counter noise the day I bought it. It's been to the dealer twice. Once for 3 days where they insulated the headliner. Didn't help one bit. The gieger counter noise is all over my car, but I do have that same noise right where you were filming. Most annoying car I have ever owned. My wife's 2006 does not make any noise

  • i just bought corolla 09 no rattling at any high speed... this car is rental people abuse it. no wonder it rattle.get a balance done lol

  • Mine rattles like crazy - and I baby it. I even take a longer drive to work just to avoid potholes on certain rough streets. It is very upsetting, because otherwise I love my 09 Corolla. I play music loudy to drown out the rattles.

  • i test drove one of these and i wasnt that impressed with it i enjoy the camry much better i think its because smaller cars arent really my thing its nice but toyota could have done better

  • You should wait for at least a year before buying new models.

  • then again...it is a rental car, people abuse them for no reason.

  • take it in for warranty repair...rattles and squeaks are expected on a new model

  • Rattle and squeaks are not expected on a new model. Honda and Toyota were notorious to build rattles free cars. Not anymore. This is the result of cranking up the production too fast.

  • I had an 05 toyota matrix that did the exact same thing as well as a rental 07 Camry

  • Rattles have nothing to do with rental or regular customers. Lately, Toyota has a lot of complaints about rattles, which was not the case 15 years ago. Interesting to see the very soft tone when customers talk about Toyota. This explains why Toyota does not get bad ratings in Consumer Reports.
