  • Lol, these guys are some clowns!

  • 4:36 wing stalled pilot got lucky.......and recovered.....flight was right on the verge of stall....and yet they kept banking the hell out of it and the drop in airspeed won out by fully stalling one wing panel causing the roll.....and death......Underpowered from the start ....and prob a touch aft on the CG .bad combo....

  • the old british trooper gets downed by and invicible javelin missile :)

thumbs up if your watching this in 2011;)

  • Hey I'm from MN I met you in the desert of arazona a few years back. I'm 13 now and you inspired me to fly airplanes but I fail at it. The only thing I can really remember is the parrot one guy had.

  • caught fire after crash. probably ruptured after that huge drop after stall Im new to this and ive done that a few times myself. to sharp of turns for that beast.

  • hahaha i will fly my new parkzone extra 300 today and all i do is watching crash videos and laugh my ass off hahaha

  • 123,456th person to view!

  • Haha!! Let's see that again lol.

  • It looked like one or both of his port side engines quit, causing it to spin to that side. That's one of the things that can happen with multi-engine planes.

  • fuck its not that big ffs wow

  • thats the problem with electric RC planes :/

  • AHHHHHAHAHAHAHHA, i read crash n burn n thought, from an electric, nahh... but she did, well done

  • flaps arent magic , they dont keep planes in the air . Use them to take off or land and turn them off . Too much drag from the flaps, flew too slow and stalled.

  • I have a GeminiACS 1:400 model of this plane!

  • this happens when flying to slow and pulling too much on the elevator in a bank . or tail heavy and flying to slow in a bank, most of the times they slow down on base leg and then turning on final wich is not smart to do.

  • Honestly it looks like it was too tail heavy, but what do I know...

  • So I'm assuming he got below Vmc??

  • The guy filming needs some lessons. Yikes! I'm also amazed that it took so long for guys to run to the model with fire extinguishing equipment

  • The guy filming needs some lessons. Yikes!

  • It looked fantastic in the air and on the ground, tough luck Tim.

  • muito bom esse c-130 tenho um pequeno de isopor adoro voar com esse modelo

    abraço

  • That plane has an excellent smoke generator.

  • d'oh!

  • run, and u might save it from burning.haha.

  • He is flying it way too slow. He made the exact same error of stalling it at 4:36, but managed to salvage it. Second time it went wrong.

  • ugh the camera guy made me dizzy. ima puke. good show though. lol

  • the plane caught fire BECAUSE it was going over the throttle limit or something and it stalled and then the battery compartment caught fire XD

  • This plane takes a team to fly it? What does the team do while the plane is in flight?

  • its gud

  • The RC C-130's are extremely prone to wing stall (I've seen at least three other videos of this exact same model crashing in the exact same way). If you lost an outboard engine this would greatly increase the risk of wingtip stall in a turn as you would already be working hard to counteract the yaw. Chopping throttle completely and trying to keep turns flat is the best bet.

Sorry fer yer loss though :(

  • C130 Maiden, you are cleared for take off. Just patrol and NO FANCY FLIGHTS!

  • RC Plane C130 Maiden, you are cleared for take off.

  • ha ha

  • THE PLANE HAD TO MUCH DRUGS IN IT FROM MEXICO, IT WAS TO HEAVY....

  • Did the coast guards finish the mission?

  • HA that sucks :D

  • Just go to 5:00 Everything else is lame. ;-)

  • Planes like these are made to look neat, not fly well. Should have left it on the ground.

  • are you kidding me?! thats a beautiful plane

  • Oh No....What a Shame!!!? She was a Beauty !!

Oh i guess it happens doesnt it !? I do hope that you've already build a newone...:-)

  • My 2 cents says the batteries ran outta go juice and the esc shut of the motors.

  • I saw a stall after take-off then he just stalled it again..Boom... Nice story about the ecs...lol ..

  • If you just want to see the damn thing crash which was really nothing special go to 4:45

  • My Plane crash same way. it is only trainer cos I not know what I do, But I always blame My neighbour for crash -he is a fucker!! I like this plane it is aerobatic and with smoke system!

  • Its a bad pilot that blames his aircraft, the problem is quite clear. The aircraft was a C-130 Hercules and should of been a WOT 4...TASTY

  • Gostaria de comprar uma planta ou um kit desse hercules C-130.Obrigado

  • this is wot happens when u have too much spare cash and not enough skill and dont know wot ur doin.

  • Ok, at 4:50 if you zoom in macro, you can see a couple scale sized Pelicans get sucked into the left two motors. Either that or Tim got drunk and pissed the guy flying it off at some point. As we can see, payback can be a ugly whore. Tim, choose your friends better, he may have Kamikazi'd that bitch for ya.

  • that was clearly pilot error, the guy screwed up big!

  • Electronic Speed Cuttoff or Battery burn out.....caused motor to stop and plane stalled.

  • Classic tip-stall.

Death for a plane that is so sluggish on the roll.

    Pilot error.

  • i got a AC-130 spectre gunship

  • guess that maneuver didnt work out.

  • stupid electrics they suck ,plane looks not hard to fix ,,put 4 4 strokes os and you will never have a problem like that, again ,sorry for your crash, plane looks great ,,,

  • hahaha! Fail.

  • will take some time to fix it

  • C-130 its a good plane but when u crash dont think u survive

  • just more proof that electric rc is fucking gay.

  • Gotta keep power on with C-130's, they say the real one's glide ratio is 1 foot forward for every 12 feet down lol

  • damn lol

  • i put a camera on one i worked on and got a great view of the river and the highway where i live i would post it but its a video tape

  • @Brianwwecw48 haha video tape sorry that just made me picture an 80's vhs video camera duck taped to a plane

  • its a fire i know so i would walk slow to ....dumb asss

  • @thomasjones114

LiPo battery fires create caustic fumes. It is safer to let the fire die out and the fumes disperse before approaching. And there was nothing else flammable near the crash site, so what's the urgency. I'd say that they did the smart thing.

  • Just before the left wing stalled it looked like a whole bunch of left rudder was applied. If enough rudder was applied it could cause the left wing to slow down to the point of stalling

  • the left wing stalled, causeing you to bank and at the low altitude, it was like a rock with wings ( was the flaps down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • flame on lol

  • Low airspeed + high AoA + rudder = stall

    Sorry for your loss.

    Build, fly, crash, repeat. :-)

  • Something might have failed but the reason it crashed was the stall & spin. Always remember Vg! lol

  • lol absolute fail

  • Thats one blooming strong aircraft! well done the builder!

  • A real shame, looked like the poor guy had put quite a lot of effort into the build, bloody annoying video though, is that the lens cap banging on the camera?

  • I never take pics or shoot a video at maiden's...

  • That sucks, guys. What happened? It looked like you were carrying enough speed in that turn to avoid a tip stall because that happened so abruptly. I've never seen an airplane smoke like that after a crash. Is that the batteries? Either way, sorry that happened. Hopefully, it was fixable.

  • Looks like a ESC got toasty.

  • You never let any one else maiden your bird, you build it you fly it.................

  • damn that must have been hard not to get upset with the pilot, why didnt he get more alltitude???its your best friend when testing new birds!!!my condolences!!!

  • Helicopters are annoying!!! sorry for your lose, I've lost a few that way, to slow add rudder and you stall, rebuild it.

  • at least that plane didnt even cost $1000

  • im sure hes got at least that in it, anything electric is expensive to build

  • @onebadevox

    Nope

  • Where did you buy the C-130 from

  • All you guys that say some RC guys can't fly, how about you shut up, learning to fly is half of the hobby.

  • WOW...Suck realistic special effects with the crash and fire.

    2 thumbs up buddy!!

  • He exceeded the critical AoA

  • all that work up in smoke

  • all that work. down the drain

  • I've never understood why people have someone else maiden their OWN planes. If you can't fly it, don't buy it.

That thing did not have enough power anyways. He stalled it out.

  • Traditions are invented involving the first attempt at using a very expensive purchase that's just as likely to break/sink/crash/explode/explode wrong/spill radioactive waste as work properly, like breaking a bottle of champagne on a new ship. People probably have others maiden their planes so that the owner can cover his eyes without dropping the controler when it crashes :)

  • Always have a CO2 fire extinguisher on hand!

  • another of the 1 trillion RC idiots out there that cant fly...but they go get into the most complicated and expensive planes!!

  • They most likely CAN fly. This guy in particular probably has a huge collection of all types and levels of planes that he learned to fly on. Planes crash, regardless of the pilot's skill. And haven't you been hearing what everyone's been saying? It was a MECHANICAL ERROR. The effing BATTERY EXPLODED. I'm not being mean, I'm just saying.

  • @mashmusic11235

Mechanical my ass. Stalled it, plain and simple. No way a battery caused that.

  • i love how no one siad SHIT when that thing crashed LMFAO

  • bummer!!! too much rudder w/o keeping the nose up....

  • The RC Plane Was Probably Written Off, It Damaged Beyond Repair!

  • to skip all the prepping, go to 3:34

  • @moneybagman15 , thank you.

  • @HuasoPodrido - PILOT ERROR. THAT PLANE WENT INTO A STALL!! AND HE STILL HAD THE FLAPS DOWN. A PLANE THAT BIG DOES NOT HANDLE SLOW TURNS LIKE THAT

  • awesome but R.I.P pilot lol

  • a shame, such a beautiful plane.

  • also was this plane a complete loss or repair

  • this hobby looks ace if i had a decent expendable income and some open space to fly in id like to give it a go and build my own plane but it is an expensive hobby was this plane a kit or scratch made?

  • che peccato, a fatto una virata troppo stretta ed e andato in stallo. principiante

  • tip stall?

  • it became the ac 130 when they made it a GUNSHIP RIGHT

  • SECOND STALL FATAL.

Flaps were not down and the plane stalled and then spun into the ground.

Maybe next time the "pilot' will leave the flaps down for a while?

  • YOU are pointless, with your stupid comments, this hobby requires passion and of course it gives great satisfaction most of the time, therefore you cannot say it is pointless that only because you see a crash in this vid!...

  • Its funny because its such a pointless hobby.

  • wouldnt ne hobby be pointless because itdoesnt bend=fit ur health or your money but u do because its somthng u enjoy nd tht would be the only reason for sport fishing and hunting or hiking

  • RC Is NOT a Pointless hobby

  • I agree. Look at the military, they are now using UAVs into combat as a ground support. Having this kind of a hobby has its benefits.

  • @romyellasilvafamily far away:S but the planes is the best RC!;d

  • @romyellasilvafamily all hobbies are pointless in fact fun is pointless good tasting food and life its self also pointless..but people like to have fun and r/c is really neat stuff..the big planes though ...far to expensive i'd cry like alittle girl i admit it

  • @romyellasilvafamily its tottaly not pointless its just really fun to watch expensive stuff crash and burn

  • if you are thinkin that battery engine es going to carry that thing you got to be mad!!

  • Wrong - these planes can be flown by electric engines also, technically it is a matter of power in the motors and in keeping the plane as light as possible, in case it is true that a little loss of power may get the pilot foot the bill....

  • IN THE lOVING Memory Of the madien Flight

  • yeh Tim's always showin up at the field nice and liquored up, pullin some kind of stupid shit like this. The guy is dangerous. I won't even go to the same fields as him.

  • i never saw anyone jump out. Did the pilots die in the crash?

  • @SkeeboDa1 ur kidding right?

  • no shit!

  • man these are so easy to fly if u guys want a challenge fl helicopters try flying a trex 700 up side down man hell even novuses are even harder hey thats my opinion

  • just try hovering or torquerolling with an acro plane that will change your idea about that.

  • that wasnt bad except for the fire

  • Too much test with batt on.... may have been the cause. Hope you guys can rebuilt it soon, very beautiful plane.

  • Tim, u never be pilot, or cessna, coast guard, or passager-plane pilot...

  • Ouch!

  • Make mine gas/nitro please.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know much about RC aircraft, but if it were me I would probably do my test flights before doing all the paint/presentation work.

  • Tim takes up fishing instead.

  • Problems start at 4:51

    Point of impact 4:53

It seemed like the plane lost power very quickly and stalled.

  • Wow, You are good!

  • Thanks

  • I think the batt.went out

  • i m impressed... with the a/c... if u guys r selling it i am wiling to buy after it is fixed

  • Is that the one that is available from Hobby People?

  • Blame it on pilot

  • wtf is that horrible sound from the start of the video?

  • engines

  • stacks of cameras have real sensitive mic's, so even a finger rub over the mic is a pain...

  • @jpitty3153 LOL FUNNY

  • did the lipo blow up?

  • I like the first aid add pop up's during the video, 'Get your first aid kits starting at 1.95!' It includes, some duct tape, a get well sticker, and some scissors.

  • needs stronger engines

  • Great ground slap sound!

  • probably wouldent of crashed if it wasn't a coast guard plane

  • It would've been awesome if it caught fire during flight. Taht would've looked epic! But ashame about it though. AC 130's are my favourite.

  • Comment removed

  • I think if he had some altitude he may of been able to recover.

  • While I hate to see someone's efforts lost to a crash, I must admit that the post-crash fire was pretty cool. Hope you can salvage and fly again.

  • That Sucks bad

  • lol the plane thought it was an helicopter and tried to land......

  • amazing plane...just needed some bigger, stronger motors,is it going to be up and flying???!!!??? great job!

  • ale przypierdolił

  • hahahah! tak jest

  • Damned LiPo batteries!!!!!

  • Same thing happened to our friend, I couldn't turn it off because I didn't know if it was explosive and the switch was halfway inside the fuselage...

  • He used way too much rudder, went into a slip stall.

  • get mauled

  • If you guys were "experts" like you think you are you'd know that erroring ESC's and lipo fires aren't normal even in a crash. I'm going with the description exactly as written. Something was wrong with the wiring, things started toasting and he lost power. Its pretty damn obvious that it had nothing to do with trim or flaps and everything to do with electricity.

  • It is a simple stall, nothing else. He does it at 4:38 as well but is lucky with higher speed.

That pilot does not have nether knowledge nor talent.

The batteries start to burn if you short cut them or make a hole in the cover. Both opinions seem reasonable here.

  • mi0hema,

I'm with you, it's an obvious stall that caused the crash. If he would have kept the nose down and the speed up, we would not be here discussing this right now.

I'm sure the battery was damaged in the crash and started burning then. It probably did not spontaneously start burning in flight .... unless he was actually trying to run 4 motors off one LiPo. I can't imagine that though ... the current of 4 motors would overwhelm any LiPo.

  • Train horn in the backround

  • he had his flaps still up.... shouldnt of kept them down to slow the plane down..... i know it helps elevator but bigger planes cant turn good with them down. just advice!

  • Looked like a typical stall to me. To slow and to heavy for that turn.

  • way out of trim and tail heavy, locked into a fatal spin, after turning too hard, cant blame the esc unless the left side quit ,inducing the sharp turn.

  • I'm guessing his trims were all off.

Notice after takeoff it comes around straight to the camera, then he has to work it back to the right. Often if the trims are off that much you need another person get their hands in there to help trim it out. Also the plane didn't seem to have enough power and he climbed out too fast and lost speed in the turns. This plane has a huge wing loading and the wing on the inside of the turn lost its lift.

  • Well, I was gonna say he spent more than enough time pre-flighting it, but....

  • Damn....beautiful plane. I hope you rebuilt her and have flown again. To the lay person......this "stuff" shouldn't happen. To any R/C flyer: "You can hang em up and have your own museum.....or you can fly em and make room for more"

    Fellow C-130 Nut here.

  • Couldnt have said it better

  • maiden flight means first flight

  • Whats a Maiden Flight?

  • It means very first flight of a plane

  • There went 5 social security checks

  • HAHAHA!

  • Damn i hope in teh future there is a ALOT bigger airplane RC

  • Looks like he didn't look at how much charge the battery had, maybe thought it was enough to make a quick flight, was proven that wasn't enough.

  • what a stupid fukin question!!!! were they electric engines or petrol? how ignorant can u be? u just watched the guy put it together and test the "electric" engines, pay attention kid
