I really like (Sutton Fosters)/Svetlanas entrance, @ 2:05 her character is  kinda telling him that she knew what would happen. the lyrics are a real emotional slap in the face to him. LOL

I agree, but this could also be because she is in the lower part of her range wheras he is in the higher part of his range so his voice will carry better.

her voice isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but i think she has far too much vibrato. my mom's a chorus teacher, so i'm kind of a music snob. =P

Ok then just believe that Julia is nasal, to the singer, it sounds pinched on the higher phrases. sutton is less but this musical evokes flats and sharps by an atypical way of doing singing and the written piece has lots written of this, in it.

For this duet, I find her voice too nasal and shrill, and it sounds like she's shouting or straining. I think Sutton's tone matches much more nicely with Josh's voice. You can hear each of them without working to block out the other.

I agree that Sutton's tone seems to match better with Josh's. But I don't see at all how you find Julia's voice "nasal and shrill" or that she "sounds like she's shouting or straining".

Josh Groban has such a beautiful voice! Its a very classical sounding musical theatre voice! Nice to hear!

I would love to hear him do more Broadway! He's certainly talented enough to do it!

Josh is incredible no matter what. Did you hear "Imagine"? Talk about breathtaking. I prefer his older stuff, ie "Closer", because it wasn't so much mainstream, but "Awake" is very good.

I've only known about Josh for around 1 year. Man was I missing out lol. But I just wanted to say, if he was still able to catch my attention now with his third CD, then I can safely say that his voice is as good as ever! But each to their own.

His AWAKE CD was just as good as his other ones. I think its his best CD but sure, you have your own oppinon on things and I can't argue with that. He still did an amazing job on all his CD's

Aaaccctttuuaalllyyyy, Sutton Foster replaced Julia Murney and Julia Murney replaced Lara Fabian.

Julia was supposed to play Sutton's part (Svetlana), and Lara was supposed to play Julia's part(Florence). Lara didn't know how much material Florence was, so she dropped out, and was replaced with Julia, and that left Svetlana un-cast, so then they cast Sutton. Both their parts were learned in two-ish weeks, FYI

Wow! that's pretty amazing...yay sutton foster and julia murney :D the interesting thing is i think julia murney's voice works better (or sounds more like) adam pascal's voice, the edgy kinda feeling, whereas sutton foster's and josh groban's voices kind of sound similar to each other...

lol. Well, he has said that he likes his fans to be intelligent and not just take everything. So I'm just voicing my thought. I just don't prefer his newer music and his vibrato. :( Like, to me, his first CD was AWESOME!! Closer was good too, but it's taking awhile for AWAKE to grow on me...we are still fans, but we like to have a perspective on it too. Good luck to Josh, eh!
