Our Sun Conure was out on our balcony, got spooked by a breeze and flew high up in a tree 50 yards away. We take her out a lot, even to the beach without a cage. We called to her, but she wouldn't come down. Anyway, the following morning my wife called out to her and she flew to a branch a few feet away. My wife held out a 5' stick to our Conure and she jumped on it! Smart bird! Conure regained!

@XXSillyKatieXX My cockatiel hates bathing too. Puting enough water so that he can't get enough momentum to take off is the only way that works for mine. You can also soak your bird wet by spraying it alot. My bird likes that, and will fluff his feathers and make cute sounds. ^^

truth; sun conures are beautiful birds but without attention they are very LOUD! and very demanding, they need constant attention and will scream and scream until they get what they want. if you have at least six hours to spend with them they are the perfect pet. think before you buy.

I live in NYC and I have a sun conure...thing is, he comes to work everyday with me and my wife...only time he is noisey is in the AM when I am home and my wife has left...and he KNOWS she will come back and pick him up...and sometimes at night when we both leave the livingroom for a bit...but he's really a great bird, and if you give them a lot of love and attention: YOU CAN HAVE THEM ANYWHERE. just my opinion...nice vid! thanks for sharing. @EA1088 But budgies are very noisy. Cockatiels scream and sing much less, and female cockatiels tend to sing less than males. My male cockatiel sings about 30 minutes a day (It looks like he's trying to charm the ''bird'' in his mirror, quite a show!) and will screams only at me if I'm too late for dinner time. The important thing is to read alot before you choose, and avoid taking the word of people trying to sell you a bird, as unfortunatly some will lie to make a sale.

Be careful about wanting something you don't know much about, as you say. You should be aware that sun conures are EXTREMELY LOUD, and because of this they tend to be rehomed often. Don't even think about getting one if noise is an issue for you.
