HOLY SHIT THANK YOU SO MUCH i didnt know small engiens had a oil tank i thought the oil went in the crankcase but o well thanks for the shitty advice....oh yeah and dont forget to empty the gas out of the crankcase
uh... why would you drain the oil from your engine for storage???? just change the oil at the end of the season as per your manual and be done with it. the oil will NOT go bad in 4 or 5 months. it would be better to have oil in the engine to help displace any moisture that might accumulate on the engine bearings and such. if you're that worried about the oil going bad (which it won't), change the oil at the end of the season then change it again at the start of the next season.
gee lets all hydro lock our engine now, ill post a good video on this one well ok ill do 2 vidoes my way which is the best and il lput one up that you can do with just stuff around the house and still do the job right..
Oil that looks that bad needs to be drained from the bottom. You wasted time by doing this. Now you need to pull the plug out the bottom and flush the gunk out. You still have to put it up on its side to to pull bottom plug, so why not do it right the first time JOOOHHHHNNNNN. I would fire your ass if I seen you do this. Wasting my time, my money and pissing the customers off when they see the gunk is still in there.
Most lawn mowers have a valve to let the oil out. Tiping it will just make the gas go into the gas tank. which is not good because then you have smoke all over the place when you start it up.
Yeah and did you notice he never started up the mower to get the oil warm so it will drain better and help get the sludge mixed into the oil to get most of it out? I don't think he's an expert at all, I think he is a paid bozo who was told a few things so he could look good for us.
This video is just ok, but in no way the best insruction... Peace :)
Expert my ass. I could have done that when i was six. It's better to use the oil drain plug in the bottom, which is easier in my opinion, (Because I'm not your average American brain dead moron), and Call it a crankcase, not an oil tank if you want to look like the "Professional" you claim to be. Also, telling the average moron to drain the oil out for the winter is bad because the idiot will probably go start it up dry in the spring. Don't have to drain oil for winter anyway... lmao watery oil.

Terrible instructions. Would probably damage the air filter.

no, on a briggs, the oil runs into the valve spring chamber. which the PCV pipe is locaated, and connected to the carb.
on a techumseh, the PCV is vented at the back.

Well that was pointless. Also whats bad about leaving oil in the engine? It was in the ground millions of years before it reached the engine.
geoff390 3 years ago
because it's all dirty and lost some of its lubricational value.. duh

What kind of shitty lawn mower is that that gets the oil full of water? Probably a factory defect at MTD. MTDs are gay.
krankiev 3 years ago
I think that it's a Yardman or a Sportsman PRO. Something like that!
drummerdude6485 3 years ago
yep. yard-man is made by MTD which is shit.
