  • The Catholic doctrines contradict the Old Testament just as much as it contradicts the New Testament.

    Just saying.

  • vidfreak from the time you were born you were indoctrinated in the theory of evolution. I'm a Christian and used to be brainwashed by this unsubstantiated theory too. Take a good look at darwanism in a critical manner like you do some old testament issues. When that happens you will come to the startling realization that evolution is one of the biggest hoaxes of all time

Evolution did not happen. If it did there would be more transitional forms than fully formed species with fakes not needed.

  • There are a shitload of transitional species do some research. And "Indoctrinated with evolution" wow.....I went to a Catholic grade school and am currently attending a Catholic High School.

  • If the Bible had a lot of man interfering with its writing, then how can you trust that sin came into the world through Adam and Eve and then sin passed to all men, then Jesus died for your sins, rose again, and ascended into Heaven. If you can't trust what the Bible says, why trust any of it?

On the other hand, we can trust that the Bible was written as God wanted and believe all of it, even things we see as unpleasant.

  • Very True well explained.

  • The Bible was assembled by General Constantine.

It's not the end all be all to Religous text.

  • You are not telling me something I do not know.

The further one gets away from the actual events concerning the Old covenant and the New Covenant, the less reliable they are likely to become.

I doubt you would support the book of Mormon as reliable text or the writings of David Berg (ie children of God prophet)...etc...where does it end? First century, 15th century,21st century?

Could you tell me how one enters Heaven and how we know this?

  • Im not talking Book of Mormon. I'm talking books like the "Letter of Clement 1" written in the same time period. On another note, It's my faith. It's a personal thing. And even if I do get details wrong, I'm sure God won't be dissappointed, as I didnt hurt anyone else.

  • I realize that you were not talking about the book of Mormon. I was pointing out that MANY can make the assertion that "its not the end all and be all of religious text", it was a caution to be careful.

    As far as Clement 1:

Indeed a few early writers did consider it part of the New Testament but presumably it didn't make it into the canon because it was not written by an apostle or other eyewitness of Jesus.

Using the eyewitness criteria is critical, imo..

    Otherwise, it becomes tainted..

  • Actually, according to the scriptures, your faith is not a personal thing at all.

We are called to "always be ready to give an answer about the hope that is in us"

What is called "The great Commission" seems to contradict that faith is a personal thing as well.

What details can one get wrong with Salvation as presented in scripture?

  • Religious text has been ongoing since the 1st century...

The Watchtower could be considered a "religious" text...

However, any "new" religious text should not contradict the original text...(this means one should take a very close look at the catechism in light of original scriptures)

From what I have been exposed to ANY AND ALL post Biblical era religious text does in fact contradict the Bible on pretty much a GRAND scale and should be readily and aggressively discarded.

  • ok not to go on forever lol. But the thing about slavery. The Hebrew word is translated slave, but back in the bible times the word slave actually meant "paid worker" so its not at all like what WE would view as a slave. Those are rules on how you should treat people that work for you lol. Just a cool point. Not trying to offend you or anything like most people on youtube might haha.

  • vidfreak 34, I think that your a smart kid and I totally respect what you have to say. But The Old testament was a written set of rules for the Hebrews to follow and its also a genealogy of Jesus and thats the reason its in there. The laws that the old testament wanted to carry through like the ten commandments got rewrote in some form in the new testament. so any rules that you should follow you could find in the NT.

  • i think you misunderstood his response, he was saying it had nothing to do with what they were discussing. I dont think anyone disagrees with the simple fact that enviromental science is important, but has little to do with morality

  • I would disagree. I believe that as the most powerful animals on the planet, we have a moral responsibiltiy to take care of God's creatures and Earth.

  • yeah without a doubt , sorry i phrased my response wrong. but to me it seemed like VFX was debating weather morality was real and how it applied to us being subjective or objective. the other student sure seemed to throw the enviromental discussion out there just to save himself, so he could get on a topic he knew something about

  • I would agree with killakatcha. I think venom was saying that taking care of the enviroment has NOTHING to do with eternal life. He was discussing "how to be saved", not "how to save the planets resources"...I would agree that we have a responsibility to care for the planet, BUT, we have an even greater responsibility to share the gospel..that is MUCH more important.

  • I still diasgree to a degree, but good point.

  • i would love to see you debate with venom fang X, everyone that can should send this video to him untill he cannot ignor it. great video
