  • imagine how i felt watching a skateboarder rolling around Burnside skatepark with his 1 year old on his board between their legs. parents, stop being so eager to make your children be like you. they'll die.

  • It's these kinds of stunts that gives diving a bad reputation. What an amazingly stupid trick. PADI, SSI, and NAUI (as well as others) have junior certifications to teach kids how to dive the safe way. This father needs a swift kick in the head.

  • He should be arrested for child endangerment. Send his ass to jail.

  • WHOOP PEE !!! i taught my three year old niece Jelly how to scuba dive when she was 2 1/2 years old the same way and when she was 3 she would carry and empty my 80 in the olympic swimming pool with me. the BOY was wearing a mask .

  • Glad his son is ok, I am sure he thought he was being safe, let's even assume he's an instructor, he obviously has little respect for the sport or his sons well being...at minimal he should have been geared up. Be thankful that an adventure of a lifetime didnt become a tragedy.

  • fuck this pull his certification, that is NOT safe

  • yawn

  • IS THIS GUY FOR REAL?

  • who cares

    GOOD FOR HIM!

  • Only 10 feet under water. who cares.

    fake video

  • If this was a 400 foot dive, you would be narked out of your mind. It would look like an Irish bar down there!

Haha, but if this was 400 feet dive, you would die, a terrible horrific death.

  • Yeah! this is a 400 feet dive. This is the kind of dive that makes you think, " why am I breathing under water when I could be playing my xbox?" Or, "maybe shallow water dives are a great way to acclimate future divers".

  • what is unbelievable you fart?

  • thats how i did my first dive XD

  • yes fightsharkfishing24 but there are good scuba accident sites on the web too. try the myscubastory site. They have all sorts of dive stories and accident videos there. type myscubasory into google and its the first one. enjoy

  • There are no bubbles coming from the cameraman...what does this tell you? It tells you that he's snorkeling...they are in ten feetof water or less...the kid can swim down there by himself he he wanted to, relax people jeez.

  • @zx7trev

There are no bubbles from the cameraman because hes filming down and the bubbles go up. No evidence of depth either way in this video.

  • @JoeFL1968 Clearly, as someone who doens't dive, you'd know that they come from below your face first...then move up past your face, so yes, you'd see at least some bubbles. Also, the camera is clearly recording sound, and if the cameraman were on scuba, you'd hear his breathing the compressed air..a very rythmic hissing sound...He's snorkeling trust me. The type of reef gives you an idea also...it's not a deep water reef.

  • @zx7trev

Actually I do dive. Take a lot of pics too and manage to keep my bubbles out of all of them. My bubbles go up the sides of my mask. No interference with vision or photography. A camera held a little away, and in this case, below your face is not going to pick up your own bubbles. There is hardly any color in video besides yellow, so they gotta be down at least 25' is my guess. Or deeper. As to the sound, you would not hear the air flowing through his hoses on video, just bubbles.

  • @zx7trev

Look up 'Oceanic Delta II' It is what I use and no bubble in front of your mask.

  • what was dangerous about it?

  • Why was this dangerous? I fucking can't stand you scuba *certified* instructor know it all "do-gooders" The fucking drive to the water was more dangerous than what happened in this clip.

  • depends on how deep there at, i took my brother to 4m on the backup regulator. he wasn't in any danger.

  • yes OIJJ30 and you can get good dive stories and videos on the net too. try the myscubastory site. type myscubastory into google and its the first one

  • @marinefish321 Dude why do you post this spam on damn near every dive video on here??? Ok, we get it; you love myscubastory....

  • Moron.. Putting his own son's life at danger. Wow, what a fool...

  • hmm ok seadiver2 but there are also good dive stories and videos on the net... try the myscubastory site. type myscubastory into google and its the first one

  • 3m deep

  • What was so unbelievable? That people can go underwater? OOOOoooooo.....yeah, wow.....your right!

  • @thecoondog123456 diving to a depth of 30meters you really should be trained in sports diving....not be some wee kid hanging onto your dads alternate air source, which is used for emergencys by other divers. You cant just go down that deep without the knowledge of how to go back up without getting the "bends" either. It a very stupid and dangerous depth he took his son to, especially without a BC of his own. So whats unbelievable is that dad put his son in a very dangerous situation

  • @AcheronsDisneyDiva How do you know it was 30m? But besides that even if it was shallow it seems lame and unsafe.

  • @muchadoaboutnoting I read the info bit under the screen explaining the situation and the guy how took the vid said thats what depth they were at. But like you said even in shallow depths thats unsafe

  • @AcheronsDisneyDiva I read it wrong! lmao 30 min...i took 30 meters from that oops. But hell no matter how deep or how long, its a stupid thing to do

  • @AcheronsDisneyDiva I think they would do this in Mexico tho. In Cancun they never asked for my cert once, they didn't talk about the dive, they went through a swim-thru without telling me in advance about it, and when we went down into a ship, we went inside without telling me they would do so.

  • Comment removed

  • I know we all have the urge to share good times with our love ones but if dad would had the patience to have the kid go thru the class and be taught properly he should not risk the kid`s life like that;obviously kid still not certified or trained at all or he would be using his own gear in case dad passes out, stroke, etc;if he does this with the kid then he can take grandma too, same shit.

As much as I myself would like to show my family and share a bit of what I do,this is definitely not proper

  • my dad did the same thing to me it was awesome

  • best way to keep a short lease on the kid imho. Stop anything from being a problem before it can get close to becoming one.

  • This stupid ass should read some research on nitrogen on gassing and its effects on developing bone structure.

  • The truth is the kid was probably more likely to kill himself if he was using his own equipment.

  • gay,

  • Clearly trained in the Buddy System

  • i do understand the kid's wants to go scuba like adults do. Most divers will know tat even open water do have min. age requirements, and tat rule is sure for a good reason, An adult's physcial builts will always be differs than a kid and not to mention each individuals r differently build. tatz explains why some gulp airs faster than others. I ve to say the diver r actually putting tat kid in some diving's risk, only time can tell if tat risks is prolonged or has subsidise.Hopefully its worth it

  • get more scuba diving stories on the myscubastory site . Type myscubastory into google and its the first one

  • unbelievable stupid

  • it just goes to show: you need a certification card and classes to be a diver, but any idiot can be a parent.

  • Unbelievable scuba clip? !! Ubelievable waste of 25 seconds

  • @jamesw2010 26 seconds...lol...but i agree

  • Sure, there is an increased element of risk, but other than that looks like a great idea!

  • I have made dozens of dives like this with both my sons at the time they were between 6 and 9 years old. At 9 they both got Junior Open Water certified themselves, and we hand dozens of dives after that.

I am reasonably experienced (1400 dives, 1419 hours divetyime), and I think diving with your own children like this is one of the most fanatstic things a man can do in his life !

    Have fun !

  • @SVp2 SAme here! I got licensed at 9.... one of the best things i have ever done.

  • pull this idiots certification...if he holds one.

Your not suppose to endanger people.

  • @wcresponder lol....do u even have the scuba license urself? get a life looser. im sure the kid had fun

  • @MrColdmasta

hey dumb ass, fully certified rescue diver and first responder. yeah kids have fun at lots of things that can kill them. Even when adults that should know better they encourage it, ask any dive organization if this is a good idea.

  • Thats Hardcore!

  • this is child abuse to me

  • at least give the kid fins. so if it panics it can shot to the surface and hold his breath in the same time!

  • @BinoBanana If he holds his breath his lungs would basically blow up, because its compressed air and it expands as you get closer to the surface therefore causing his lungs to pop thats why you have to slowly let blow out bubbles while slowly swimming to the surface in an emergency like that. For example if you air up a balloon, at lets say 30 ft and you come up to the surface that balloon with explode, thats what would happen to the boy. Soooo yeah lol not a good idea on your side. :D

  • thats just unbeleivable

  • And this is how people die

  • welcome to egypt!!!

  • what you hear is the air hitting the camera not the surface. this is stupid stunt. stop being cheap and get the kid his own gear.

  • People just relax I really think that the daddy knows what he is doing

  • @cartaman I doubt it mate. I am the most liberal guy in rule bending within safe parameters, I do solo diving, I totally support kid-diving and I have dove with kids as responsible for them, but this ordeal is simply beyond irresponsible. A pool-based experience? Great, worst case scenario is some mild accident. I don't even dare to ask about the depth they were!

  • You can overexpand a lung ascending from five feet if breathing compressed air. This is child abuse.

  • Its in 2 m of water and the camera is on the surface - you can hear the bubbles break on the surface and the wind...wow - the kids got a long snorkel, so what!

  • @bowe310 Wind? Long snorkel? O.o

  • Looks like a bubblemaker to me

  • What if the scuba fails... sooooooo idiot two potentialy dead people....

  • What a retard

  • I wonder how deep they are. Perhaps they are only 10 feet or fewer? I'd like to think that might be the case because this certainly seems crazy and risky even if it is a shallow dive.

  • What in the fuck are you doing you idiot? Are you on drugs or are you just trying to remove your line from the gene pool?

  • What a retard

  • What could possibly go wrong??? That is the sort of shit I stress to my students NOT to do. Even providing your alternate to a snorkeler diving down can be fatal as they hold their breath and surface!

  • I have dive many times before , particlaurly in lakes with the use of the backup regulator on a friends octopus. They dont breath as nicely as he primary, hard to pull air! But works nonetheless

  • @eKtechniX i know the altenate is harder to breath out of because if it was the same it would become a free flowing regulater and waste all your air

  • i dont see anything peculiar about this dive.

  • i bet it's just really shallow, maybe 10 feet or less. and the person taking the video is only snorkeling.

  • you can see such stupid things...everyday in egypt....i say always, they try to kill people...and the tourists never complain...what we can do? organisations like padi, cmas, ssi and and they have also no idea

  • This is child endangerment. I can't believe you would put your child at risk like this. irresponsible and stupid, stupid, stupid. This is the kind of crap that causes deaths and gives divigna bad name. Idiot!

  • Stupid!!!

  • lol, may the father made his brevet @ barracuda :D

  • That's fucking stupid!!!!

  • thats hardcore, kudos to the kid

  • I saw that somewhere too, but it was only like 6 meters and they where there fore maybe 10 minutes. And also many other divers in the direct vicinity. But I wouldn't do that...

  • this is ridiculous i am a master scuba diver with padi and i found a lot of problems in this video. He is so lucky that nothing bad happened. 85 percent of people involved in a breath hold related injury while diving died in 2008 according to a study by DAN ( divers alert network) its people like this who buy gear off the internet and make the sport unsafe. know your limits or play games with death....

  • @miseryluvsco who was holding their breath? they both had regulators in

  • @titsgalore48-- The kid has the yellow reg and the guy has the black. Both regulators can work at same time but it eats away your air twice as fast. Kid probably had fun but SO dangerous.

  • @miseryluvsco check out the risks they took on just the drive home.

  • That is unbelievable. Anybody who thinks there's nothing wrong with this clip needs to go buy and read Diver Down (ISBN 0071445722)

  • I don't see a problem here. There were too more divers on the scene should there be a problem. And, being they were down for thirty minutes, I doubt they were very deep in the water.

  • @dogglebe your an idiot

  • @coleymiester89 Go home and slap your mother for doing such a poor job raising you.

  • why dosen't he just qualify his son cus he will know when his air has run out in double the time!

  • are they mating.... lol jk

  • man thats nothing my dad slapped a tank on me when i was 7

  • cool stuff

  • Not totally stupid but many of you didnt even notice the spare 2nd stage on the divers left. i thought about trying this with my wife in a lake down to 10' or so but my common sense is still well in tune and i havent gone full retard. LOL

  • Whats rediculous is that the kid is breathing from his fathers octo, which means he's going to drain his air 2x faster. I'm a rec. diver myself, and honestly, its people like this that will eventually make mistakes at depth that cost them their lives. Diving is a dangerous sport, there's no question about it, and people doing ridiculous stunts like this just make the problem worse. Who knows what crap this guy pulls when his son isn't there, I wouldn't want to be his dive buddy...

  • it dont matter 90' or 20' if the reg was to mess up and he did not know how to buddy breath and blow a lung. it is still messed up please do not try this at home

  • dad more than likely did not take son under 90 feet silly rabbits lol so no need or risk of decompression and hes useing his back up so the kid can breath looks like the kids pretty comfortable in the water get a grip people.

  • Glad the boy survived that is really dumb.

  • This fucker is an asshole and could have killed his kid, I am instructor and you don't do this shit period! Learn the proper way assholes!

  • @rvphoto Real professional not sure you would be my first choice when i go for my DM

  • i did some stupid stuff while diving but this is WAY too fucked-up

  • That's how I learned diving. Well, actually my dad made me hang on to the valve of his twin tanks. So I was hanging on to his back down to about 10-15m. Is it safe?! Probably not, but I was thrilled back then. Good memories...

  • yeah good hold on to that boy tight so he dosent panic and rush to the surface lol

  • Do you guys really think they're 90 feet down and decompressing on the way up? The guy filming it is probably breathing through a snorkel. I'll likely do something like this as soon as my kids are old enough.

  • It all depends on how deep they were; if they were at 4-6 feet there is no need for concern..

  • @reduardocc

In fairness anyone who goes deeper than 2-3m doing this is nuts, but if its safe then yea why not......

  • dumb asshole! i should kicked his ass verry hard!

  • This is why we can't have nice stuff!

    fucking moron should die

  • you guys are all a bunch of scuba Natzis

  • holy crap the kid is using the alternate second stage!!

You can't risk a kid's life like that!

    what a asshole!

  • Uh, I don't get why the gear is such a necessity like the suit.

  • @videoman223 Problem is every diver should have a main and alternate air source. If you have two guys on one rig, you lose an alternate, and if there's a failure (or you run out of air) you've got nobody with a backup to rely on. Kid could freak out and kick away then end up flying to the surface (and die from decompression injury like burst lungs).. all kinds of bad shit could happen with this situation.

  • @richard23videos thats is true, but he also does have an alternate air source on his inflator hose. im not saying this is safe, but just pointing that out.

  • guy is o looser

  • Anyone that calls themself a diver and thinks this was acceptable should lose their cert. This was dangerous and stupid. The kid had no bc therefore no control, no back up air, no weights.... No amount of fun is worth the possibilty of a pulmonary or arterial embolism and the kind of death it would mean for that kid.

  • You give scuba diving a bad name !!! Hope you have read all the comments and learned what NOT to do.

  • It didn't look cold every one else was wearing a exposure suit but stil stupid none the less

  • What an irresponsible idiot. And anyone else who condones this behaviour is equally moronic and stupid.

  • very stupid, no matter the level of the father (or the adult who brought the kid in the water), even more stupid if the adult is instructor or more. this is how accidents happen.

  • @edospace6969

    no not accidents.... DEATH

  • Sorry Dude, I'm a diver too and all that, but that is Child Abuse.

You put that kid at incredible risk. You can blow a lung in less the ten feet of water, or did you forget. Further, I noticed you are suited up like an Apollo Moonwalker. What is the kid wearing, his pajamas?

What an idiot you are my friend.. I pity those that team with you.

  • ★★★★★

  • mmm, handy if a hungry shark comes along : )

  • @fairyfartass man u just won the proue for most cynical comment ever :D

  • Unsafe?? Maybe, but depends on the fathers level of training, how comfortable is the child. I started diving at 8 and didnt get certified till I was 12, now I teach, should I scold my buddies dad for letting me?? The really funny thing is the father is wearing a full suit with a hood and the poor kid is in a shorty.

  • @Tekdiver444 yea ahahaha

  • your an idiot @korbentaz what if the kid panicked

  • Deficenti totali.

  • This doesnt look any worse than snuba... and i think in fact this kid is in less danger than most DSD's. Im with those that say this is no big deal, especially if we are talking about shallow water in swimming pool conditions.

  • That kid looks more proficient then most PADI dive masters!

  • also he has mask and alternate airsource

  • Comment removed

  • 30 meters is totally UNNECESSARY.... stupid, no respect for MR MURPHYS Law.... should have only done a 30 feet intro like that.

  • whoo says anything about 30 meters? are you retarded or what? 30 min (minutes)

looks pretty safe to me too, from experience i'd say this is about 3-5 meters deep...

  • whoa.... easy there, little fella...

I misread the "info section".... no need to get all CYBER-toughy...

from Croatia, eh???? Sorry to hear that!!

  • Well at least the kid doesnt need DAN. His A.G.E. will be covered when he one day has a freak out under water.

  • i dont see a problem with this, i hate authority constantly droning people on danger, wear a helmet, mind the fucking step and whatever... they dont look too deep, safe enough.

  • poor boy... he is in danger with his dumb dad!

  • Don't you guys overreact a little?

We don't know how deep they were. Imho this is fine if they stay above 10 feet depth and can go up anytime they want to. Why not show the kid what daddy does in the lake every weekend? :) I know i'd show my son if he'd ask me too.

It'd be dangerous however if there was ANY possibility for DCS involved.

I think IF you do somethink like that it should more be like snorkeling on scuba and not an actual dive.

  • I'm with you on this one. As long as he knows not to hold his breath what's the risk at 2/3m?

  • Comment removed

  • @Samurailord what a load of old cobblers you spout mate. You're obviously one of them 'thinks he knows' on diving. The kid would be in real danger of a burst lung trauma if the guy loses hold of him.

  • @ButtsontheBarbie you seem to have trouble reading and understanding text. Read my comment properly and you'll see why lung trauma is not a risk i'd take. And if you dont get it at least use your common sense and imagine that i'd probably tell my kid not to hold his breath. And even if reading and common sense fail.. do the physics and calculate how much increase of lungvolume you risk at a depth of roughly 2,5meters. Not to mention this can't become a problem because he is holding the kid.

  • @Samurailord you still know jack-shit mate... a lung trauma can be caused from as shallow as 6 feet - which is less than 2.5m (8 ft). Of course the kid is being held, the arguement is that if he let go of the kid - who is wearing a wetsuit in saltwater with no weightbelt - the kid would go skywards very quickly. Why would the guy let go? Who knows, a heart attack or whatever but it could happen. He is putting the kid at risk, end of story!

  • @ButtsontheBarbie - to myself - this is not a fair discussion as I know I have light-years more diving experience and knowledge than Samurailoud

  • Ok, I see picking on PADI here. I'm a certified NASDS diver and was once an instructor (yes, now SSI in north america . . .). In my home town we have one PADI instructor who is fantastic. It's not who he was certified through. It may not even be the instructors fault. This guy is just a jackass plain and simple with no common sense! If i EVER found one of my students doing this, i'd be pulling their card, not to mention the lashing they'd get from our local store!

  • Great, yet another scubanazi. I learned about diving the same way. Except it was 1972, there was no octo, we were just buddy breathing. And yes, my dad made sure I kept breathing the whole time. I ended up getting my first certification a month later. Let's see you try to pull my card, numbnuts.

  • Numbnuts is tough talk on the net ;-) I'm not a scubanazi, just educated. 1972 was a very different time, Skootertrash. I studied my history as well, You were diving back in the day when J-valves were still used commonly with no gauge for air pressure. BCD'S weren't much more than a small inflatable vest, if you used any at all. This was the norm then. THere were also more fatalities then (in comparison to number of divers). Times change, as does technology.

  • By the way, I do have respect for those that dived through that era, such as yourself. It is those that helped scuba become a much safer sport as enjoyed today. And there is discover scuba programs that are safe to try scuba as jdfan mentioned.

Last note . . . i said "numbnuts is tough talk on the net" . . . I'm now in Northern Ontario in Canada . . . so if you ever pass through, i'd be glad to oblige you on your offer of lets see me try ;-)

  • You are so full of shit. If you were really an instructor, you'd know you don't have authority to pull anyone's card. A diving instructor is not a law enforcement officer. You can refuse to certify someone, but trying to pull my card would be really funny. I have a dozen different ones anyway. And if you think you can, come on down to Seabrook Tx. We'll giant leap off the salvage barge and you can take it from me, ok? ;-) Numbnuts.

  • No, can't literally "pull" your card . . . but can refuse air fills, rentals, sales, etc. And yes, I was really an instructor. Seabrook . . . i'll be sure to detour on my next visit to Round Rock . . . Thunder Bay here, but you'd never show your ass on the northern shore of Lake Superior . . . If you do, let me know, i'll tell you exactly where to find me . . . and FTR, I said you had my respect, and you continue to go off. Very sad. I'll buy you a beer after I put you in your place old man ;-)

  • I'm not going to get into the pissing contest over PADI vs. NAUI. This is a display of the pure lack of common scense. Most training facilities offer a dicover scuba class for a nominal fee. However the phrase "JACKASS" comes to mind.

  • O_O dude if ure son wants to dive then he needs to grow up like god demn it theres courses ffor that and if uget out of air theres no 1 that can give u some

  • If I was your instructor I will take your C-Card right away, learn to respect the sport, Do Not Put Anybody at Risk!

  • oh no not his C-Card! you PADI divers are all the same totally lame and gong to kill someone...

  • I'm not a PADI diver, I'm certified as a Naui and a LA County Fire Department Diver. I am not lame and I will NEVER put anybody at risk like that.

Thank your very much for your comment!

  • fucking PADI

    Pay And Dive Ignorant

  • There's always Pay And Die Instantly

    or for BSAC

    Before Submerging Alert Coastguard

  • ....you must really love your kid to want to risk his life! what till hes older then train him!!

  • not to smart , as a diver i know to many things can go wrong.1.mouth piece can come off.2.run out of air with two people on one tank.3.kid has no weights on . just not to smart.but there are no laws its scuba at own risk! that has to be his son and all parents are different and i would have had to say no to that one...

  • Fucking idiot!!!

  • sigh people he can do whatever he fucking likes...as soon as his son or himself gets hurt lets throw rocks at the cunt ,but seriousely. its hapnd and in the past. get over it!

  • What a massive over-reaction. How many regulators have any of you seen fail in the past? This kid looks old enough to know what he's doing - simple.

  • Regulators freeflow all the time! All it takes is the diaphragm to freeze open, at which point dad would need to let go to sort it as the kid would not know what to do. kid holds his breath, shoots to the surface, pops a lung. - simple
