Well I sure a lot cancer research breakthroughs were done by atheist, scientist tent to be atheist. If you were a Christian on sinking boat and bunch of atheist showed up to save you would decide stay on the boat or get saved. Think further what if your in the icey water and hours before death and in pain would you let them save you then. I don't think it fair for the people with cancer. I think we should put all beliefs aside and put what really matters first the people with cancer.

I'm so happy you did your own research. If the atheist group is not about hate, then they should be able to donate. And I see this was a hard video for you to make. Also if you think your views on some videos are low. It's because youtube sometimes puts the word "watched" under the video even if you didn't watch it. So some people skip it thinking they watched it.

I agree they do not have to do anything that does not benefit them. Lets assume lack of belief was a reason for this action. This communicates, especially if they are not tied to a religious group or principles, insincerity on wanting to achieve their goal. If you are willing to refuse donations (due to PR and not a matter of principle) then be consistent. Stop accepting outside funding, or cease to ask for assistance from the public . I think you would be surprise at the amount of people who would have this limiting outlook, regarding probable behavior from Christians. Unlike you my friend I do know many Christians that would resort to such outlandish behavior. I also reside in the Midwest. The bible belt is notorious for this mindset.

I hate the word atheist so much, it describes what a person doesn't believe and we dont do that we dont call people non astrologers or non physiotherapists.

I'd much rather words like rational, skeptical, humanist and secularist used to describe me rather than Atheist.

Too many times most "athiest" groups have an agenda. This meaning that they encourage people to turn away from God rather than support some tolerance position (i.e. it's cool that you believe, but I don't). Most often it's an attempt to usurp faith rather than being a benign supporter of a worthy cause. I believe that prayer and faith are crucial in recovery of patients no matter the illness. I also belive that atheism goes hand in hand with a communist where God is replaced by the Gubmint.

@NefariousVirtuoso88 This may be the case from what you have witnessed, but I think it bears scrutiny (is bening a skeptic OK for me?). You might have a look at some historical records in Russian Orthdox Churches and the Communist revolution in what we used to call Russia. As well the communist party and the nazis were non-distinguishable for the most part prior to WWII in Germany. The fact that you want to "soften" or hide you intent by calling yourself "rational" is quite telling.

I dont need historical records. I know what atheism is, what communism is and there is no link. An atheist can be a communist just like a Christian, Hindu, Jainist, can be a communist. I believe the Bible says Jesus tells Christians to give away their possessions. How very communist of Jesus. That was a tongue in cheek comment obviously to display how incomprehensible this claim is. I bet if atheists were polled a high % would say fuck communism. I certainly would.

I haven't heard of anything that discredits the atheist group for being illegitimate, involved in illegal practices, etc. Turning down the donation sends the idea that the American Cancer Society is a religious charity, and don't care about anybody who isn't or a certain religion (Christian apparently). Its-I-I can't comprehend how anybody who'd consider themselves a good person by their moral. You said it very well, and recognized that cancer affects everybody of every walk of life and belief.
