  • wtf!!this is rarer than rocking horse shit, cheers for posting.

  • The Teardrop Explodes are one of the most underrated bands of the 80's.

Why they never got more recognition is beyond me.

  • where was this filmed?

  • toured with this lot when Cope was also their bass player, jonesy on guitar,Dave balfe on keyboards and gary on drums.

  • MKQP... Did they open for U2 at this show? Just wondering. Nice one. Thanks.

  • excellent, thank you !

  • Ooh, I used to have this on VHS. I'd forgotten it. Aah, Gary Dwyer's hair. Bless him. Copey's is an absolute state. :-)

  • Julian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they both had versions of ( read it in) books.

  • Great clip! Thanks for uploading it. 'Rocky' Dwyer on drums! And they don't make bass players that dance like that anymore. And what are those jodhpurs all about?

  • He LIVED in those.

  • @tomcatfoxy The bass player is Alfie Agius. He played with Interview (Virgin band), The Fixx, and Hayzie Fantazie (sp?). Where are you now Alfie?

  • ian mcculloch was never in teardrop explodes wikipedia is wrong and the crucial three never actually did anything before they split up

  • I thought he was in echo and the bunnymen? am i right?

  • yes ian is in echo and the bunnymen and another bit of trivia is that he gave them the name of their first album kilimanjarro

  • Which I don't have here and deeply miss...

My first teardrop sighting on YouTube.

    Kind of special.

  • Yeah Ian McCulloch the singer later went on to echo and the bunnymen.

  • totally wrong its not ian mcculloch its julian cope

  • @bens508 was that before or after he was in the beatles?

  • julian, unsung genius from wales via liverpool to the unprepared world. a master of melody and originality, full of defects and virtues, with a sharp psychedelic mind. looking for a living john lennon? it's him

  • carty and elvis lar!

  • ian mc culloch was never in the Teardrops,he played with Cope in a band called The Crucial Three !
