I ree that marriage is between one man and one woman. I have nothing against gays, have a gay relative. I dont agree with the lifestyle but believe they should have every civil right. I believe marriage is a relgious ceremony and should not be changed by government.
I know, I have a friend back in Virginia who is opposed to interracial marriage, but does not have anything against blacks and actually has a black friend.
When interracial marriage was legalize nationally by the Supreme Court, it was deemed a civil right. If people actually think of gays as equals of them and have any entitlement to the civil rights they enjoy - well, then they're going to have to give them marriage, which I'm fully behind.

The fact that reproduction happens only between man and woman tells that nature (if you're an atheist) or God (if you're religious) did NOT mean for man to be with man or women to be with women.
There are other benefits to sex besides reproduction. There is relief of stress, consummation of love, exercise, pleasure, etc... The only risks of sex are STDs and unwanted pregnancy. Unwanted pregnancy isn't even a problem in a homosexual relationship, and STDs can be avoided if you take care to use protection. For something to be classified as a disorder, it has to negatively affect the "sufferer". Case in point, homosexuality is not a disorder.

The difference is than we're talking about sentient human adults, capable of making decisions for themselves. An animal cannot reliably communicate with humans, so we cannot know whether or not it truly wishes to engage in such behavior. Polygamy is illegal because it has a rather reliable track record of being abusive. If we found a way to know the wishes of animals, and we find out that they indeed wish to have sex with humans, why not? As it stands, we have no such way to tell.

Genetic mutations are nothing to mock or look down upon. My daughter has a genetic "mutation" that causes her to have a higher risk for developing certain cancers.
While I agree with you on the issue, PLEASE do NOT put being gay on the same level as genetic conditions. Parents of children with genetic conditions have enough uphill battles without fighting whether or not being gay is genetic.

A small percentage of any population seems to be physically and emotionally attracted to the same sex. I view that as natural, because in occurs within the context of reality. Your imagined scenario which is a world where the majority of the human population or indeed everyone is gay IS unnatural because it is an unrealistic scenario that does not reflect reality. When interracial marriage was legalize nationally by the Supreme Court, it was deemed a civil right. If people actually think of gays as equals of them and have any entitlement to the civil rights they enjoy - well, then they're going to have to give them marriage, which I'm fully behind.
Otherwise, if you're going to oppose same-sex marriage, you really ought to be consistent and regard them as sub-humans, on par with pedophiles, rapists, and other sexual predators.

In the early 1800's William Wilburforce finally recieved enough votes from parliment to pass the anti-slave trade act, which in turn started the domino effect in abolishing it in the rest of the world. I would find it odd that you would criticize the liberals for the bailout though when the conservatives also showed support for the bailout. It was around the 8th century, the church adopted it and put its own stamp on it.

Equating this to race or gender is, I think, offensive to some people. Gay people in this country have not gone through what slaves had to go through, sorry. In addition, sexuality can, potentially, be influenced by external/environmental factors. Race and gender cannot. So you really can't put them on the exact same level and say it's all just the same.

There are other benefits to sex besides reproduction. There is relief of stress, consummation of love, exercise, pleasure, etc... The only risks of sex are STDs and unwanted pregnancy. Unwanted pregnancy isn't even a problem in a homosexual relationship, and STDs can be avoided if you take care to use protection. For something to be classified as a disorder, it has to negatively affect the "sufferer". Case in point, homosexuality is not a disorder.

The difference is than we're talking about sentient human adults, capable of making decisions for themselves. An animal cannot reliably communicate with humans, so we cannot know whether or not it truly wishes to engage in such behavior. Polygamy is illegal because it has a rather reliable track record of being abusive. If we found a way to know the wishes of animals, and we find out that they indeed wish to have sex with humans, why not? As it stands, we have no such way to tell.

There is no particular reason that beastiality would be considered wrong except that animals cannot give consent.
