i think donati would definitely show up Portnoy for a drum off, Portnoy is all about how he plays with the band, but as far as straight up technique, Donati rapes Portnoy. Donati knows his rudiments like crazy and can solo much better. Not saying Portnoy's bad though, he's still my fav :)
