  • i got a barra that size in my fish tank

  • that first one was a juvenile. Wait till that thing gets some weight cause they triple in size compared to the first one. And great to eat too. Enjoy.

  • I have caught a 25kg oh baramundi in Singapore salt water before and wooo ... Its 1 hell of a show ...

  • this could be an eden for ultra lite spinning tackle.

I would try fly fishing here. a blast!

a #5 with a big bugger, short shooting taper...

  • heyy mate @ Caimingchang i live in barra paridise and you don't needa license unlease you go fishing in natonal parks, if you do go on get a guide preff Cape don fishing tours.

  • FISHERMAN BEWARE i went here, the small fishin was fun, but we went there being told that you could catch 10-15 pound fish all day and it turned out that the only way to catch a fish of that size was in a completely fished out pond with bait. We talked to the guy who worked for this jack-off, and he told us that alot of people were pissed off at the ownership, cause they too felt like they had been ripped off.

  • if this pond is private how did u guys get to fish at it

  • @Caimingchang i license is something u can just pick up from a service station. and as for guides, there is so many in any fishing town for any type of fishing u want.

  • Those fishes are nothing to Capt.Ben!! LOL

  • Florida also has some pretty good Peacock Bass fishing, transplanted years ago. And if I recall correctly there are (or were at any rate) Nile Perch in Texas.

  • @fullwood13 there are in some ponds they are pretty expensive to start breeding them

  • Dear me... hope they have fun. How did Yanks get our fish? Isn' t exporting native animals illegal? Can see Barramundi taking over Sepoland' s waters like carp has ours. Perhaps they' d be interested in some gum trees, cane toads and prickly pears too

  • welcome to Australian fishing. except we have crocodiles were most of our bara is caught

  • damn tasty fish though. worth the risk haha

  • ahhaa lol ive never tasted one amazingly

  • wait wtf do we have barramundi in america cause thats what it sounded like

  • no, he said its a relative to a fish you have in america. i think barra are a type of perch.

  • i cant even catch a fish more than a pound!!!!

  • sucks for you

  • can you flyfish for these?

  • I went fishing in the ocean and caught a 400 pound marlin it did the same thing in his videoes broke my rod, i have it in my trophy room

  • Haha, wtf does our national fish do over in the States?? :O

  • barramundi ! man, what dont yall have in flordia?!!!

i wauna come down & catch one of everything!

    ...check my vids....

  • LOL license! we dont need license where i live :D

  • i wish i lived your life Capt.

  • What Cpt. Ben says at 14:07 is true. We don't have the high $ pro angling comps like you guys do. It's getting there. Just in the last couple of years they've started showing some on TV which has been great! You guys need to do all you can to help out! :) :) Oh, and great show.

  • Nice to see a show w/out a bunch of advertisments. Keep it up!

  • You only need a fishing liscence in nsw in australia i would know i'm from australia

  • never hear of this type of fish . they good to eat?

  • They are very good to eat.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • wat kind of fishes r yhiz

  • @boxinglife123 from Australia I believe. There is a place in Osceola Florida that has a park with lakes where you can go and fish'm. Enjoy.

  • I'm from Singapore. I'm interested in going to Australia to fish for Barramundi. But do I have to get a license or something? And where can I hire a fishing guide?

  • I am sure some of the Aussies who watch the show can direct you to a great guide there in Australia.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • you should try and fish for murry cod

  • I was fishing in Australia as well. Get a licence for the state you are fishing in. Isn´t that expensive and you can go fishing wherever you want. Not like in Germany where I´m from. You need a licence for everything. :-(

Yeah and try fishing Murray Cod with Bardi grubs! AWESOME! :-)

  • the best barramundi fishing in australia is the top end like darwin area, not uncommon for first timers to catch barra up to 10kg within minutes or if you go with a guide you can try for the 20+kg monsters.

  • i live in australia but in victoria we need fishing licenses im pretty sure you need them up north to you can get them at fishing stores

  • @Caimingchang no you don't need a licence ,but there is a limit as to how many you can ceep witch is 3 per person and they have to be 55 cms or over. There are fishing guides everywhere all you need to do is go to a information center and ask for a info sheet for fishing

    good luck

  • @Caimingchang You dont need a lisence

  • 80 to a 100 cm+ barra pull like a bloody train.

those fish are undersized in Aus

  • Fishing for Baramundi is more extreme in the actual Outback.

  • You are right and maybe one day I will actuall be able to do it.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Hey Capt... can anyone fish them ponds? I'm in saint cloud and I would love to fish for some Barramundi.

  • Anyone can fish them but you have to go through Capt. Byron Hennecy. Just check him out. They are near 20 pounds now.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • OK awesome....Is this his private fish pond or something? Also you said its 20mins from Kissimmee is that south towards Kenansville?

  • Yes it is a private farm pond that breeds baramundi.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • capt...do more barra casting video...love to watch it

  • I sure hope to. If I could get some budgeting done I would really like to fish at all the different great countries around the world.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

    Capt Ben

  • yo capt,u should try fishin in Asia (espacilly in Thailand and Malaysia)we rarely caught giant saltwater fish but checkout our freshwater fish. in Malaysia theres the "tapah" (giant catfish) in Pahang..local says this fish also feeds on monkey.or try fishing the "Malayan Mahseer"..not a monster but sure pack a punch.Thailand are famous with its Mekong river giants

  • I would love to. If I ever get sponsors that allow me to do that type of thing I will.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • im 14 and the biggest fish iv ever gotten was only a 11 pound steel head :(

  • Sounds like a good fish to me.

  • LOL to me,the biggest fish I've caught was a 3 pound smallmouth bass.

I was about to go big game fishing but my dad don't let me because he don't want me to get pulled overboard or bitten by a shark.

  • hey captain wat sort of set up should i use for a bull shark well im using a handline with 40lb monoline....... i would like to use a rod but last time i tried i and the rod went in the water as i am only 14 yrz old.... pleaze reply

  • Don't use a handline or you may lose a lot of skin off of your fingers. The pound test you are using would really cut your fingers up.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • im 12 years old and ive caught 1 of the biggest barramundi in australia.

it was a saltwater barramundi caught in derby. western austraila.

    and it was 148cm long

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • honesly,

you proably think im joking but im not.

  • No sir, I take everyone at the word. Great Job.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • You should really come down here to baffin bay and do a show on our big specks in the summer... just toss out about a 6 inch croaker and youll hook into some monster specks.

  • I would like to one day.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • hey captain you should do one segment where you go inland down south and go paddlefish fishing

  • i think i saw this on bill dance.

  • You did, but I was first before all those other guys. LOL

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • i was there.

the biggest i caught was 14 1/2 pounder.

  • nice

  • Hi capt ben

i recently started to watch your show , very good by the way, i live in the u.k and here i fish carp and tench but im moving to america soon . so can u suggest a fish to catch which is along the same diffulculty as carp or tench ?

    All the best Joe

  • Dude where I live there are huge carp that people just leave alone because they think they are a bad fish. If you had good bait you could catch some moster carp.

  • Where exactly are you moving?

  • sweet home ALABAMA

  • haha, nice vid. If you like catching them in a dam you'd love catching them in the real outback

  • I know. Maybe one day.

  • my god how small are those barra they would be illegal is aus

  • Hello Mate,

We actually use the Fishbelly Gator Minnow in this show. We also use Berkley Gulp as well.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Hell ya Capt Ben i watch the show here on you tube all the time to show my friends this awesome show... cliff

  • Hello Cliff,

Thank you very much for watching Chew On This and letting me know you like it and show it to others. Those Bull Reds and Smoker Kings are great fun to catch. Thanks for the support.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • does the ocean run into the pond?

  • No sir.

  • they look like bass

  • G'day mate,

you should make your way over here ASAP the impoundment fishing for Barra in central and northern Queensland is going nuts. Pretty soon I expect to see fish over 125cm being a pretty regular catch for the folks that know what they're doing. I do know of a 137cm fish being caunght in Monduran Dam. Sort makes those little tackers look like bait (which they would be as Barra are quiet happy cannibals)

    Cheers

    Chris

  • I would love to. Maybe one day when we get the budget. Thanks for watching.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • i live in osceola county, can public fish there?

  • You can by Chartering Byron. He is the only one allowed to fish or guide on the property.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • "Squidgey" (soft rubber fish) lures in clear colour with a red head is dynamite on Barra! :D

My friend and I caught 28 fish in an afternoon session at Shady Camp Barrage (Mary River NT) fish ranged from 40 - 100cm :)

  • Thanks for the tips and watching Beefy.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • I would like to thank all the viewers of the "Chew On This" Saltwater Fishing Show for making it the most watched fishing show in all of YouTube. Thank You all very much.

  • I heard you all were very rowdy over there in Aussie land. Thanks for checking the show out.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • thats awesome....although that is tame compaired to Australian Barra...i live north Queensland, Australia and those fish that you guys were catching wouldnt even be legal size..i went barra fishing 2days ago and caught a 97lb Barra on 10lb fireline. it took a prawnstar... if you want to catch a real barramudi come to Aust. and see what real fishing is like.

altho for yanks i guess that segment was alright..haha

  • BarraMasterDave it's funny you said that. I was just speaking with my wife on the way home Christmas eve and said Austrailia is one of the countries I would like to visit. Maybe one day if the funds come availabe I will head over that way and do a show. Thanks for watching and I know those one's we caught were very tame compared to your area.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben
