i dont understand. i am an avid gojira fan. i play guitar too, im not very good, so maybe this is why, but i wonder why i tune my guitar to d standard and everything, but when i try to learn gojira, its so hard cuz tabs i find say to bar the top two or three strings for the beginning of this song but when i play it sounds NOTHING like gojira. when u bar in a standard tuning the harmonic of the strings is all off. maybe i cant hear it in gojira cuz they have drums and bass? idk can someone help??

@y890x i dunno where you got the tabs from but if you're in the right tuning (i think d standard 440), you could pretty much just follow what he's doing. better than me dude, my tuner just shattered to pieces and i can't tune by ear, so im just working the fingering patterns till then. online tabs aren't always right; and when theyre not, just try to work it out by ear. hope that helps. other than that, you dont need to bar anything from the intro riff - there are no power chords in the intro.

@ThaigerDon no power chords? idk i think its alternate picking with 8-7-6-8-7-6-8-6 right>? two notes per fret or something? its so confusing. i think the tabs are right cuz gojira never bars anything in their live sets from what i see on video but idk maybe sometimes. in d standard barring sounds terrible on my setup. but the intro is so fast it seems like barring idk. maybe its just the top e string or something. then again gojira is another guitar a bass and some drums and a voice lollllll :/

and yes they do bar chords in d standard but only the lowest two strings

sounds very good! im trying to learn this but that one cool part is hard to play fast enough, if u use tabs, where did u get this one?
