i would seriously pay someone to come beat this damn game for me. I cant beat donkey kong n64 without beating the arcade game and its driving me INSANE
this is a good video to show on what type of spring to run on BUT if you watch steve or bill play you will notice they some times run back and wait to go again,, its not becose they mess up there timing the same spot on the eleveter to the left you have to start your run on the first right but watch the next spring becose if it lands the same as the one you start to run on it will kill you ,,you need the second spring to be to the left the firt elevtor ( i hope that makes sents)
When you see the spring that comes out at the farthest right (yellow column), and you then rush, you have to watch the NEXT spring and make SURE it lands left of the yellow column one. Also, another thing you have to keep in mind is that the springs do NOT come out at the same intervals. Sometimes a spring comes out "sooner" and sometimes "later" than normal.
thank you sir for your video i start last year with mame i pick up a real nintendo cabint a few mouth ago the real pcb is a lot difrint in timing im now hiting 250`s most times but never seam to get away from my life what a distration eh :)
I actually beat this level without too much trouble. I just stood to the very left of the ladder. It was safe for a few seconds, and I found a break. It was my second attempt.
You get an extra life at 7000 points (although the machine can be set to award it at 10,000, 15,000, or 20,000 points instead). You can't get any more, just the one. Other that, you only get as many as the machine is set to give you at the start of the game (usually 3, but can be set as high as 6).
JCriss is correct, this method is ok, but not fool proof. Springs have been my biggest hurdle so far. Nevertheless, I have reached a milestone this past week with a score of 253,900 points on L=08 on a original ROM chipset. :)
If the spring is a C spring, move all the way to the right and then hope for a B spring next because if it's another A or C spring you're going to die.
This only works about 60% of the time. To master this level, you need to know that there are two types of Springs: A & B. A springs take their first bounce slightly more to the left; B springs slightly more to the right. You have to start your run toward the ladder as a B spring passes over your head. If the very next Spring is an A, you can continue your run and climb the ladder; if the very next Spring is a B, return to your start point or you will be killed while climbing the ladder.
I can't do Tess's

Nintendo needs to redo Donkey Kong with more stages. It's still a great game to play.

@uhfnutbar1 It's about the speed of the springs. You have to wait for a fast moving one to go over you then after the next is when you go.

@ryansoyo It's 'you're', it's the contraction of the words 'you' and 'are'. Also, it's 'than' in this case, not 'then'.

@ryansoyo Yes, because having dignity and intelligence proves I have "no life". You should practice counting McNuggets, it's your calling.

@ryansoyo Yes, us 'niggas' still play this. Please go back to school, you spelled nearly every word wrong. You disgust me.

@uhfnutbar1 That last part is crazy. I can normally do it by feel if I try to focus on anything else I'll mistime my run and mess up.
Luigi84289 1 year ago
64 makes you go through all 4 stages, or no coin.

This strategy has made it a bit easier for me, but 2 out 5 times, a spring usually ends up killing Mario.
I mean it works most of the time, but it's not airtight.

My highest score was in the arcades (around 1990?), at a Time Out (where i had best score record) of either 203k or 206k on level 8.
Most of my deaths were on this elevator "triple jacks" board :(

Thanks. I always wanted to know that I always caught hell trying to pass that board.

this method is not foolproof. however watching where the spring falls on the otherside like steve weibe explains in king of kong is.
