@Aleque well hippied were into piece, but they were also into psychedelic drugs.. and the drugs was that destroyed them. Majority of them didnt work and they used up all their money on drugs and soon they ran out... they were too busy protesting and once they realized that "hey, we need to work to get money to get food" soon it died out. i like hippies i like how they looked at life XD even some of big hippies who were in bands stated that "they" hippies were wrong (i watched a documentary) lol

The counterculture movement of the era, is one of great interest and one which requires immense study and interviews, both of which I have done. I spent time in San Francisco, between 1967-1973, as a pre-teen and I met Timothy Leary once, in Santa Monica, and we talked for a little while.

The hippies were not the first to try communes in the US, the socialist were and it ended the same way. These poor hippies were being manipulated by the communist socialists to oppose the war and world communism. It is sad. Really sad. All the druggies, broken families, unwanted pregnancies, screwed up lives, over doses, sexual addictions, etc....
1969 mankind found it's dark age for humanity. and now thanks to the hippies!!! churches had to start locking their doors. bars appeared on windows. food lines reach around the corners. and children are less important than the next high. buzzz i assume you too are a parent. the battle is not lost as long as we can teach the next generation that freedom is worth fighting for. one decent person is worth more than all the hippies combined.
