Her being white isn't as jarring (since it's a fantasy story) as Tarzan knowing perfect english. I am assuming this is sometime after he returned from England though. I've never seen this before, it's quite good. Especially for Filmation which didn't always do the most quality work.
Um, why the hell is there some white chick native living to Africa? If she as a little tan, with darker hair and eyes, I could believe it.; but that bitch is one scandanavian motherfucker. Oh well, I guess it's 'more faithful' to the books, which were blatantly racist and sexist, by the way. Hope you enjoy; "Tarzan, the killer of beasts and many black men". I prefer the Disney version because it's not racist or sexist, and pretty funny too.
this was one of the best cartoons ever televised! it taught children manners, respect and courtesy for all your fellow people and animals and also taught you to be brave and stand up for good and repel the bad! brought back many childhood memories!
He's dignified, heroic, ripped, and has a good sense of humor. He does look much cooler than the Disney version. He has better posture for sure. Disney may of been trying to be more realistic, but in reality feral children are usually retarded, and who wants to see that?! This version of Tarzan is the best I've seen.
But Tarzan lives in the African Jungle, where the indigenous population's Black. This was a great cartoon, which I enjoyed as a kid. But, regrettably, it's contaminated with the subconscious racial bias that permeates Western Culture.
Fuck PC, I'm talking about simple geographic realism. How about making Lassie or Heidi cartoons for the African market that depicts all Alpine villagers as Black? Belly-laughingly ludicrous, right? So glaringly discordant as to elicit immediate WTF?! reactions from most audiences? Yet all I've done is imagine the negative of Tarzan's Lily-White African Jungle.
Well, I don't think this Tarzan cartoon should be taken so seriously. Realism was ejected the moment he started speaking to apes in their language. This is pretty much fantasy and in fantasy you can have hobbits, elves and white africans. I mean, if we're going with realism, why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Thanks hex! I suppose "somebody" will say another daft comment like why does Tarzan always wear the same underpants.
Because they are brown of course.

Its a cartoon from the '70s, a time before political correctness took its hold.

Filmation always had "Gorgeous" ladies in boots short skirts, and all incredibly beautifull.
I was always hot under the collar when i was a kid watching theese ladies.
The artist concerned sure had a good understanding of trhe female form!!!!

If you look carefully, The girl Thea from the city of ivory looks like a blonde version of Wonder Woman!
