  • To be, very good is my cat is kiler instinc, my love iis dog full

  • BOWW LAY!!

  • Buoh looks like a poop when disappears. =/

  • ONE OF THE BEST MUSIC still to this day hey ever played part 2 its called battlemasters for SNES only from japan released you can buy the cartrage or play on snes emulator the music is of the same instraments ! check it out JOE IS SYOH in that one ahhh this game puts street fighter to shame its more realistic . if again anyone has something to say il send grey skin russian fighter Vagnad turn u upside down and rattle some sence into ya

  • @MIZOGUCHI7

The only game I remember a name of "SYOH" is "Dead Dance" in japan which is called "Tuff E Nuff" in the US. I don't think it's tied in with power moves at all.

  • @MIZOGUCHI7

You're right about the game called "Battle Master" but doesn't seem to be any kind of tie in with power moves but maybe I'm wrong. Nice find though!

  • i dont care what anyone says this STREET FIGHTER style fighting came has the best music EVER i think this game and street fighter 1 the arcade has the best back ground music ~ ok so maybe they should of made it with a little bit more characters n movies and select style but over all this is still an awsome game this game has feeling unlike the rest of them anybody disagrees il send the Ranker to kick the back of your azzz

  • i remember getting this game on my birthday, good times

  • i have the same game but its called power moves that really wierd..

  • It is not pronounced Kah-Knee-Ko it is pronounced Kah Neh Ko which means

Kane-Money Ko-Child. This game is terrible compared to other fighers that were out at the time.

  • But it is not the worst period, I've seen far worse

  • @MasterMacLeod

oh trust i would play this game any day over "rise of the robots" when i was a kid seriously^^

  • I played this game when I was a child, and earlier, I played this game again for nostalgia. This game is unique where we can improve Joe as a fighter in term of speed, defense, power, etc. Something you won't find in any KOF or SF(SF I? I don't know since I never played it).

Overall this game is good and worth to play. too bad we can't select other character if it isn't versus mode and the ending is standard.

  • My dad bought me a copy of this game for my birthday when I was a kid,he wouldn't buy me a Street Fighter cartridge for my SEGA Megadrive because it was too expensive during that time,so I ended up getting this one instead just to satisfy my crave for fighting games.

  • Sounds more like he's saying Haoh-ken.

Anyway, other fighting games Kaneko (pronounced "Kah-knee-koh") created were Shogun Warriors, its sequel Blood Warrior, and a licensed (but barely released) game titled The Kung-Fu Master Jackie Chan.

  • I liked this game and beat it. By the last boss, your character is very fast and strong.

  • Yes, every success begins with trials and errors before the perfect mix

  • I have a nostalgic relationship because I rented it at the time, because of the similarities with SF, but a character like Vagnad, was unique.

  • I honestly had a lot of fun with this game back in the day. Despite its derivative elements, there were some unique ideas present in this game, and the music was fantastic for the day, even if it might seem a bit generic today. Ultimately this is a game that probably hasn't aged well, but its a pretty cool piece of video game history. Its worth owning as a collector, but you probably won't enjoy playing it unless you have a nostalgic relationship with the game.

  • I heard of this Game, but never Played it where can I get it? Is it good?

  • Power Athletes? I thought it was Power Moves.

    Hmmm

  • Yep, same game. It was called Power Athlete in Japan. Also the Genesis U.S. version is named "Deadly Moves"

  • That fireball does seem like a ripoff of the Hadouken. Though that other move is a LITTLE original, but not by much. Looks like a slanted Shoryuken.

  • Ahem, said 'moron' here. Fair comparsion, SF II was released on the SNES slightly earlier than Power Athlete/Moves. Both are 2D fighters with punch, kick, and special moves.

Harder is debatable, good is very debatable, however the success of Street Fighter was far far greater. How many versions of Power Athlete were made?

"Dedication" != First Impressions. This game had so many factors against it, yet I'm surprised how many people are vocal about defending this game.

  • Sure, Power Moves was created as the result of the Street fighter craze of the early 90's.

But, people tend to forget that the original street fighter (released to arcades in 87') was completely inspired by classics like Yie Ar Kung fu, Karateka, Karate Champ or even Kung Fu all released before 1987.

Just Street Fighter was connected to an already successful video gaming brand which had the marketing powers to propel the series into stardom.

  • It's true...there's a forgotten Street Fighter, and that's the 1st one, but the SF2 began all the fighting craze.

  • Couldn't begin the craze without the trial and error of the original's foundations. No disrespect to SF2 at all but every great franchise must have its humble beginnings.

Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat 2 or Soul Blade and Soul Calibur for example.

  • I have been imagining a long awaited bout between Zangief and Vagnad

  • Actually quite a few games in the Power Moves series were made, also with different name. Is anyof those games any good? Not a chance in hell. I think Ninjabread Man is more fun than this.

  • LOL! I played this game, but I never seen a Hawaiian fighter.

  • Well, Kaneko tried their best when they made this.

  • Yeah this was a good game. You had to fight the characters in order and it helps if you know the moves. Also, as you fought the characters you could increase your life and such. SO this game had some good ideas and was kinda unique. Its limeted but still a decent game. I loved it at the time.

  • I don't care what you say, I like this game, even though they could have added more characters to it. and show a little more of the story mode, but the best part about this game is the background music, and you're really supposed to fight the characters in Order, you're supposed to fight Warren First, and then Vagnad second....and I don't remember who you're supposed to select next, but I know you fight Nick last before the final boss Ranker.

  • There are a lot of nice elements to the game. The animated backgrounds are pretty cool, I enjoy the background music until now, and yeah the gameplay is limited. But when I played it as a kid, it was fun at the time.

  • What the... you actually LIKE this game?

How in blue hell can you do such a horrible thing?

  • Because its just me, I have played this game numerous amount of times, I enjoyed it when I was a kid and I would enjoy playing it now

  • How? Great music, colourful characters, 2 plane arenas and a 1 player mode similar to the original Street Fighter with RPG elements involved.

Not to mention, a pleasant alternative to the other 2d fighters at the time.

  • I like the bgm of this game. Besides that there isn't nothing very special. Some of the characters also had some potential I thought.

  • oh I just replayed it a while ago, I actually enjoyed this game as much as I did when I was a kid. The controls are kinda sketchy (you move up/down a little bit so it's not completely 2d) like with the 2 button move inputs and the hit detection is kinda sketchy, but compared to other fighters lol, it's not that bad.

  • oh that's the name of this game. I played it when I was a kid but completely forgot the name of this game; I just remembered Warren. I think I liked it when I was a kid, but I wonder how it'd rate now. Thanks for the vid.

  • I think this is the Sega Genesis version. On the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, it is entitled "Power Moves".

  • Seems like a really boring game. Also that flying punch of Joe's looks like some retarded version of a DBZ move lol

  • There was nothing wrong with this game. It wasn't the best, but it had some good points.
