Only one word can describe the thing my ears are hearing in this very moment: EPICNESS!!!

  • Take that Justin Heyward!

  • Song and a half.

  • What th fuck are teir opions :D

  • Fun, smart, awesome, and not prone to fucking droning on about their "art." What is not to fucking love?

  • Fun, smart, awesome, and not prone to fucking droning on about their "art." What is not to fucking love?

  • WOW.

  • What album was this off of? This rules!!

  • No matter how lame the band, you know a song is good when you can make a kick-ass hi-octane punk version of it.

  • I so love this...

  • Many of fun gigs watching the Dickies!!!!

  • Perfect timing!!!Amazing song/cover/timing+++

  • what a bunch of *ssholes!

i can't help it though, they are my Homies!

    effing assholes!

  • This is almost better than original.

  • The guy who wrote the song, Justin Hayward, told an interviewer that he loves this version of NIWS.

  • Had the pleasure of seeing them live at the 8 1/2 in OC back in 1994! Fuckin awesome band!

  • Hard to understand 'em with all that sperm in their mouths...

  • this hurts myhead

  • I like the original version, but I LOVE this version! A great example of a radically different cover version that doesn't trash the original.

  • Perfection! you wont hear it any better than by the DICKIES.

  • this is so fucking good!

  • This needs to be released as DLC for Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

  • i saw em with fear and di at the house of blues. kick ass show.

  • Genius

  • the BEST!!!!!! Nothing like this version to get the blood pumping!

  • got the white 45 vinyl of this absolute classic

  • I’m a sucker for a checkered Fender.

  • @Pflyn is that not a Gibson/epiphone?

  • this sucks ass unless you're goth or a gay punk

  • @xklawenx Were you dropped as a child, because this is punk at it's finest, and what the hell does a goth have to do with punk, goth is about sadness, this band is about being up beat.

  • @tweakweak

i disagree and i cant stand when people do this GOTH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EMOTIONS! IF YOU ARE GOTH IT DOES NOT MEAN YOUR SAD! GOTH IS NOT EMO YOU FUCKING DIPSHIT!!!!!

  • @sk8ingizlyfe How did I say it was emo?

  • Song prog dork would probably like to kill me for saying this, but I like this one WAY better than the original.

  • @actron: BUT IT IS !

    AND WERE THEY GAY???

    .......LOL !!!!!

The original Moody Blues song CAN go that far to drive someone into suicide, this here NOT !

  • @actron yep. This is way better.....erm wait a minute, can't find the sarcastic button. ;-)

  • Todd Rundgren? LOL

  • THUMBS UP IF THIS SONG IS BADASS

  • you gotta love the old punkers. all original, dressed different from eachother(mostly). not like today, where they are more commercialized and the same. miss the oldies!

  • The singers name is Todd Rundgren.

  • Aw, what the hell did I just stumble into?!

Fuck it, who cares, this is EPIC!

  • Who origonally did this song? I thought it was the moody blues but I like both regardless

  • I seen them in San Diego when they played with Siouxsie & The Banshees a damn good show. Always loved this band, the 80's had some great shows here but the San Diego closed most of the places down.

  • Why does the lead singer keep looking to the side?

  • @XtreemMetalMan **He moves away from the mic to breathe in**

  • How considerate!

  • The dickies - tellin u of a very very W H I T E Christ-mass, prrrrrhhh, love from Germany. come visit my channel with its favs & playlists. and never stop celebrating white christmas.....

  • i loved these back in the 70s an dhave a few of their singles on 7" vinyl... this one is on white vinyl of course :)

  • This is so bad ass!!!!!!

  • Old, old, old school American punk rock kicks.

  • Nothin beats good ol' So-Cal Punk Rock!!!!!!!!

  • all those nasty comics suck. this music rocks, in its own unique way. If you don't like it, go watch something else.

  • I'm a huge fan of the original, one of my favourite songs, first time I've heard this one though, I'm impressed, I really like this as well! Very good cover

  • wow... alot of shit bags on this string that dont know real punk rock? (shadows, slosh)...calm down and go back to your top 40 system of a down, sum-41, yellow card, sick of it all stuff. And please commit suicide while your at it. Everyone wants you to. Event that girl! Trust me, your FM dial sucks....

  • awesome sound. i looked for this band after hearing their great song on" killer clowns from outer space" which was on the tv station called THiS TV this past weekend.

  • I only just liked the dickies and they're really good

I also want to no why the singer sings fast?

  • Brilliant

  • great upload this wor kid was a big punk fan so i grew up with this THANKS and a few bitchy comments to read below nice,i better delete my mariah cary stuff before the music police attack lol

  • AWSOME!

  • And McCoy, and Hofstadter! Okay, they're fictional, but they should count!

    KICK-ASS cover!!

  • Gawd damn I love the DICKIES!!!!

Makes me want to pogo in my living room!

  • @Braticuspunk I seen them when they played with Siouxsie and the Banshees, such a great show.

  • THAT will leave a stain!

  • This beats the fuck out of anything new

  • @vitalchunks Well, no, not really. It's good, don't get me wrong. It's not *that* good though, eh? Bless.

  • The joker costume is great. Love it =)

  • fuck off fucking cock sucking ego maniac

  • first off i dont need your worthless apology. then there is the fact that theres nothing redneck about this song nor the ppl who enjoy it. i dont even know where that generalization came from. yah i checked out your videos too; you wouldnt know two things about punk or a good music video cos alice cooper and the muppets is hilarious. i mean you have a sinead o connor and fleetwood mac video favd lmao seems like your the fucking faggot

  • how can you even compare mac to the muppets? lmao you're messing right? i don't know whose favs u were looking at but i dont have any of those videos and i fucking hate nickleback. i dont have a facebook either

  • EXCELLENT conception of this boring song...superb arrangement and execution. I thought I liked the Moody Blues...but I was stoned back then. Once I saw them straight years later, except for our local Festival Orchestra backing them up doing a fantastic job with one rehearsal...Moody Blues was lack-luster. You guys made this song interesting.

  • I've come to the conclusion that guys named Leonard are epic, as a rule. Nimoy, Bernstein, Cohen, and Graves Phillips!!

  • @babymoondancer and leonard sagan...

  • one of the best cover versions i'd say

  • YEP! This is better than original N.I.W.S

    THE DICKIES rocks!!!

  • good at 0.01

  • very sweet indeed!!

  • Sweet solo 1:29

  • This Is So Fucking Great, The DICKIES Are The Master Of Rock N' Roll Covers! This Song Is The Dickies, And The Moody Blues I'm Sure Are Jealous!

  • These guys are right up there with The Saints and Ramones for sure as far as covers. I don`t think there is a better punk vocalist. That`s saying alot. That voice is a one off! Close to Pete Shelly but better.

  • es de mis bandas y canciones favoritas (Y)

  • Far better than the original!

  • man im going to see them at the key club in the 20 of march

  • I love how the lyrics are so incoherent. This song sounds good when played fast and loud. "Cause I love you!"... "ahhh ahhh ahhh!"

  • i think this is like the best cover version ever.. loove it! : D

  • Have this 45 on white vinyl in my old punk collection. Great song, fantastic cover. The original Moody Blues is still a classic.

  • now i know where (old) AFI got their inspiration.

  • Crap!!!

  • one of the better cover versions I always thought.

  • blasphemy....nights in whtie satin is an epic song.. it has nothing to do with this...i feel this was a bad performance for such a song

  • WoW they totally killed this song, moody blues must wanna snap there guitars

  • I think that killing the song was the whole purpose ! And this is also great to pogo to !!

Don't forget, punks enjoyed indulging in a bit of "Hippy Baiting", especially after the hippies/prog rockers/etc did their absolute upmost to suppress punk rock.

  • Well, psychadelic rock was the original punk. The music of the hippies is what people first called punk, but it soon became Sex Pistols, etc. The song to be titled Punk first was "96 Tears" check it out and be surprised by its non-punk-ness.

  • Well I can't really agree that it was the "original punk", but psychedelia was certainly new and revolutionary when it started. But the trouble was it never went anywhere, and ended up just disappearing up it's own backside !!

  • Don't know what you guys are thinking, I saw this band a couple years ago at the Waterfront in Norwich. They're still going.

I love this song too, although I heard it a few times before the lyrics tipped me off to which song it covered. I think it's the best cover I ever heard!

  • this song was definitely not meant to be a punk song

  • ive seen these guys like 4 times...so good!!!!

  • sorry david18...you're alone in how you feel you little bonehead!

  • it's funny to listen to right after hearing the original. Nice guitar solo.

  • ha ha ha ha ,I tried what you said and ...haaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaa

  • Yeah realy.... It will never come back! That era...

  • It's sad that 99.9 percent of the general idiots will never know how good these guys were. The 80's era will never happen again.

  • So true, but 99.9% will also never know who Tricia Toyota was either.

  • L.A.'s Ramones! This makes a good punk song. I wonder what the Moody Blues thought of it?

  • Not a lot I would imagine !!

  • but i'm sure they don't mind cashing in on the royalty checks that the dickies have to cut to them

  • Quite, every cloud has a sliver lining !!

  • Tremendous!

  • I Have an original vinyl record from these guys, Dawn of the Dickies, this song is on it. Love it!

  • he has such a great voice

  • ty for posting! love this band!

  • The incredible shrinking Dickies! I remember these guys on yellow vinyl. Nice cover. I never thought to do "Nights in White Satin" as a punk song, but it comes off really well. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Exumedcat.

  • Wipes out today's so-called "Punkrock" outfits in terms of Punkness. Great band with a good sense of humor, too. Btw, their original songs weren't bad either - Dig the psychedelic skying backing vox

  • The Dickies were awesome. Thank you SoCal.

  • They still are

  • hahaha i just noticed the acoustic guitar
