Same sighting I saw in the white mountains back in 1991 but we where high up so the light was in front of us, it stayed for about 5 mints and went around the mountain we were on. Never dimmed though , it kept the full brightness even as it left. there was 15 othe people who saw it.

I may know what you caught on video, as I recently filmed something, that looked very similar when being videoed at night. You can buy mini hot air balloon type chinese lanterns, in many sizes & shapes. Ours were orb like. They're made of lightweight paper, come with flammable brickettes. You light them, let them heat up & let them go. They're bright for a bit, then fade, then go out & fall to the ground somewhere. They can go quite a distance.

I live in crofton andit 15 min away from duncan. I have ofton seen strange lights in the sky! Crazy Stuff ! maybe its God ;) one time it was really bright out side my window and then it disappeared !! crazy!!! you guys saw the same thing!? it moves suddenly and rapidly!!! now im a little freak out!

ive seen the one in victoria BC as well. it came from over the mountain range on the mainland. i also noticed that there were some lights eminating from the mountain range itself. near the peaks. it was late at night, and the shilouettes were showing the peaks, im guess there is some kind of airfield/test facility in the area.. but i cant say for sure, i was astounded as i watched the glowing ball of light which appeared/disappeared numerous times.

Flare? You notice how he says, "Why doesn't it move?" and then it doesn't move the whole clip? Also flares are never a single light, you will see 2 or 3 lights come off a flare, and obviously, they don't hang in the same place for the whole duration of a video.

Well I'm not saying it's a 120 MM ilum mortar, just what i saw in the video was very similar to it, and that you dont see many UFO's with smoke around them, cuz only ppl who use fule that leaves smoke is us, at least to my knowledge by seeing videos and my personal favorite "Ancient Aliens". I'm not trying to discredit this video, i guess i should have said "To me, the big bright light looks like a flair" instead of judging it as a flair. Sorry about that.

The big bright light is actually a flair, you can see the smoke and the smoke trail while it's descending, and the whole area have smoky glow, I know this cuz I was an infantryman in the Army and we shot a lot of 120 MM illumination rounds back in Iraq. I'm big believer in UFO, and yea they are coming, but we cant look at every bright light and say it's a UFO.

@sswarrior666 For all of the ground shots I thought flairs at first too, According to eyewitness in Toronto It wasn't descending tho! The smoke was slowly Ascending from the bright spot! I would think with with simultaneous cloud movement that it is possibly an Illusion. Yet being over a metro city who fires off 120mm flairs? The airport 'Pearson International' uses trained birds of prey for Anti-Collision. We've been seeing these lights in Toronto for months without the smoke

@sswarrior666 Thanks for your input! :) as the clip near the end of my video says, "UFO's? it Beggars Belief!" Its good to see people questioning what is being presented to them with an open mind for all possibilities. Like a Giraffe, 4 feet on the ground but with our heads in the air. I personally know the witnesses so I'm a little persuaded to their perception of the event, hopefully someone else caught this on vid/photo so we can look further into it. BTW, the pics are darker then originals.

LOL The terminal velocity of a skydiver is about 195 km/h (120 mph or 55m/s)[1].15 seconds to reach 99% and so on.

Even if the flair was 40 thousand feet high(average is 35 thousand) at 3 feet a metter and a terminal velocity around 55m/s. the flare would reach the ground in under four mins, maybe just over because of the time to get up to speed, they watched it for over 6 mins and obviously took them time to get the camera. so unless u know a flare with anti gravity. it a ufo

The British Columbia videos of the same night also don't appear to be Hot Air balloons as some suggest. We used to have the international Balloon fest here for years and they always had a night fly. I was a volunteer for launches! These sky anomalies people are seeing have no luminous characteristics of the touches used for Ballooning, unless it's a custom special FX thing that I've never seen.
