these engines are great I just rebuilt one, runs like a charm. so easy to take apart too.

How old was this one? I got one my self (1987/88), very good lawnmover I think. Dosent sound to bad eather if u compare it to other lawnmovers like B&G and LawnBoy

how were the valves disconected? blown out valve seats, guides, or retainers? or did the lifters come out of the rockers?

dont now my grandpa had it i think the lifters came out of the rockers
sorry i meant pushrods, not lifters, i had that backwards
I like the top engine cover better on your mower.
