I think their strategy is clever. Release it as a slightly faulty digital download now for a cash injection and put out a hard copy later that way people will double up purchases and they have time to fix bugs while people are buying/playing it.

It is and it isn't. Having it available on Steam now would still allow for them to patch it up. Your talking about the Console release, I'm not.
