  • ive been going over it in my head a few times now, and i see the spot where these guys are saying you can get a twister but i have to disagree. i'll admit that i see it as a possibility but only a slight one. guy on top has his body completely off to the side of the guy on bottom. bottom guy would have to pull top guy completely over his body and onto the correct side for it, i just don't see that happening without top guy seeing whats happening

  • It has to be very fast. Its something you can try maybe in the last 20sec of a round.

    Because if it dont work its easy for your oponent to get your back or in a twister.

    But yeaah its a cool techique, i subbed some guys in training with it.

  • Don't use your groin as the fulcrum point, meaning don't try to break the knee on your balls. Instead, squeeze your knees/legs together above his knee (the higher the better), trapping his leg between your legs, just out of distance of your groin, and thrust your hips forward and arch your back backward. I never wear a cup and i don't have any problems as long as i remember to squeeze my knees together. This also applies to armbars and will help keep both submissions tighter.

  • Maybe maybe not, I do this from a modified side control rather than scarf, Scarf doesn't work well no-gi and the modified side control avoids the twister danger as you keep control.

    Saying that sometimes its worth being a bit left field.

  • I think the trick is not to allow the guy on the bottom to roll and take you with him. If you keep your weight on your side, you should be fine.

    I also think this is a technique which is to be executed quickly.
