  • Nice video. Hummingbirds sure can get vicious.

I have a hummingbird fight on my latest video, so I searched to see if others do. Except on mine at one point there are 5 or 6 fighting over the feader... I was amazed when it happened. It's towards the end of my "Fish Lake, Utah (2006)" video... check it out.

  • aww 2 cute hummingbirds are playing fight over drinking and hold the wire

  • omg look at that attack at 1:06 lol

  • I seen a HB fight before at a feeder.

They locked up in combat and fell onto the dusty driveway, LOL

    They spun up some dust!

It was pretty cool to watch!

  • Silly hummingbirds, there is enough for them both! lol

  • silly birds!Theres 4 feeders XD

  • They are cute though.

  • It's like ace combat.

    Only with cute birds!

  • seconded

    especially the ace combat part

  • Guess which one is Mobius 1 and which one is Hamilton:P

  • Its like a strange war, where the participants involved can say, " Wait, hold your fire, I need a drink", then " Ok , back on with it"

  • that's how my lady and I fight over the last tortilla!

  • Hey EdwardKT,

I like your video. Fun video to watch. Check out my videos at westviewhomeandyard.

    Cheers.

  • hmm sharing wasnt on the list of things to try? lol

that one didnt seem very intimidated though.

  • how do you know they weren't just playing tag.

  • They aren't playing tag. It's territorial feeding. Most animals don't play games like humans do. They don't have time or energy to invest in pointless leisure activities. Eat or be eaten.

  • lol

  • Nice vid. You could eliminate the fighting by putting up another feeder or two!

  • @yooperjb I've tried such an approach. I live along a migratory path and no number of feeders can stop the aggressive displays altogether during peak periods in late spring and autumn. The more feeders you supply, the more birds that concentrate in your area and comp. remains. Also, local plants may do without pollination owing to a ready food supply at your place. Be careful about setting up too many feeders. Just like anything else in life, excess ruins the pleasure.

  • i like those feeders that have perches..u get way more action than the other ones

  • Wonderful clip. Sadly, my hummingbirds have disappeared in the last few days. I suspect they've begun their long migration.

  • hey here is an awesome tip: please subtitle this video..it would be SO funnyand cute. The hummingbirds have such a hilarious staccato..i guess italian subtitles would fit best..only i dont speak italian :(

  • ONE GRAND PIECE OF FOOTAGE. THANKS

  • I also video taped a long fight. One rearely gets to see these fights because they take place in outside spaces and it is usually over very quickly. Both of us lucked out by having a roof over the feeder.

  • they are cool yet weird looking

  • i honestly didnt know hummingbirds could stop flying, i thought since their wings move so fast if they did stop their hearts would give out or something lol

  • They are also the only bird that can fly backwards.

  • "YEAH? Well YOUR mama's so dumb she tries to feed on silk flowers!" :) Great video - I've never heard them before! They definitely sound like they're cursing up a storm. Love how that one grabs a drink while the ones bitching at him and seems to look at like "Yeah I'm drinking - SO?"

  • Nice shot. This is more complex than flight of a space shuttle. Imagine the amount of equipment needed to convert energy stored in worms or bird seeds into mechanical energy, and the well controlled flight. • I love hummingbirds, cool video

  • its always a pleasure seeing hummingbirds in flight, thank you

  • They are cursing like sailors. =)

  • Can't we just all get along? LOL.

  • Great clip of those two dukin' it out. Aren't we glad hummingbirds don't weigh 500 pounds with those dispostions.

  • Great work. I've seen lots of chases, but never anything like that.

  • excellent
