  • I preached at my mother's wake. I understand how difficult this was. You have the very real emotions of missing your loved one and the complete assurance of their salvation and the blessed hope of seeing them again all at the same time. I would say "God bless him" but knowing of his Graduation, God already has.

  • Only God can give someone the strength to preach a sermon like this for someone you love and adore.

  • This man was always at my house on the holidays and I never realized he was.a pastor let alone famous. I just knew he always sat across from me. Lol

  • Come what will or may WoW Trust is such a beautiful thing #LORD i Trust YOU

  • I am so moved by this video in more ways than one! Beautiful, beautiful beautiful. True love- man aint it wonderful?

  • Praise GOd

  • One of the most moving messages I have ever heard from a funeral. God has been good. I thank God for this.

  • I love Dr. Hill and thanks theLord for him.

  • My gosh, I can feel the Spirit in this Eulogy, man I can't wait until death is swallowed up in victory....to God be the Glory!!! "Trust Me."

  • My gosh, I can feel the Spirit in this Eulogy, man I can't wait until death is swallowed up in victory....to God be the Glory!!! "Trust Me."

  • this has to be the most unbelievable sermon Ive ever heard due to the circumstances...... WOW! unbelievable.... period!

  • What a beautiful tribute to his loving wife..Our God is a God of so many wonderful blessings! So Sweet is His love.

  • Dr. Hill, in delivering this eloquent eulogy, is the "picture" of strength through Christ. What a testimony to those that are living a life without Christ being the center of it. Anyone that hears the words in this eulogy will hear a "life-saving" testimony about the salvation and maturity that is "in" Christ through the good times and the bad. As he said, "Bless it!"

  • What am amazing eulogy. She must have been an amazing God fearing woman.

God Bless E.V. Hill. As a young girl, I would watch him late at night on TBN. R.I.P.

  • Baby was a precious soul. We have had gorgeous and powerful women to admire and appreciate, but if you didn't get a chance to meet Sister Hill, you missed a major treat. I ran into her and her son at a exclusive department store in Southern California and oh what a JOY it was to experience her presence. That was years ago and I can still feel it. I was at the same counter that she was and she grabbed my hand and said how are you. My Lord, the Joy of a sweet, classy, precious soul. A unique gem.

  • OH My God!!!!, This Has me in Tears!!!!

  • how I love you so much

  • A great demonstration of Christian maturity.. The Lord gives, the Lord takes away.. blessed be the name of the Lord! A mature Christian can bless the Lord at all times; through all things.

  • This man was awesome. He blessed me when I was younger and still through a youtube post, he is still being used by God. I thank God for allowing me to stumble across him back then and today.

  • What a Powerful Man of God!

  • Where are the men and woman like this today? My generation needs spiritual eyes and ears to see this

  • @Denebah

I know t hat's right, I pray this anointing fall upon my husband because he just doesn't know what GOD gave him!

  • @Denebah They would be attacked more than appreciated. That is the way of the world today. Should one know the difference and be ready and prepare, the knowing would see them through the attacks. We all need a bit more of a backbone so that we can share and stand firm for the testimony of the Lord.

    God help us.

  • This was powerful!!!!!!

  • Extremely powerful!! My God!!

  • "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."

Oh, the Spirit is all over this. I myself love a truly virtuous woman, and I know that it was only through God's help that Dr. Hill could preach this funeral...oh but what a sweet, sweet honor. I never heard this man when he was alive, but I plan to meet him and his wonderful wife someday.

  • I miss him so much. I went to his church years ago and sat there...the only white person in the house, and he looked right at me and said, "welcome...you are welcome here sister". I cried. I love you Dr. Hill...see you on the other side.

  • See my comments on Part One...I just finished listening to this again for the first time in years...and I sit here with tears streaming down my face all over again.

I am sorry that I never got to see Dr. Hill while he was here. But I am thankful that his voice can be heard until Jesus comes again!

Black or white---it just does not matter for the Lord has told us all "TRUST ME!" and you can hear that despite the deepest pain he could feel in the loss of his Baby, that he did indeed TRUST!

  • What power from God!

  • God bless this man of God. i've never heard of him before but this sermon left an indelible mark upon. what strength the Lord gave him to preach at his own wifes funeral..

  • What a mighty woman of God. Certainly an example to women today. She knew how to protect her husband's spirit. Praise God!!

  • I did, too. But my husband wasn't a man of God. I couldn't follow him because he wasn't following the Lord.

  • The true epitomy of a Man of God! Be instant in season and out of season!!!! This was out of season for him, but still he preached the Word.

  • Oh Bless The Love of The Heavenly Father!!!!

    RIP Rev. and Sis. Hill

  • required listenning for all marriage ministries/ this is a true word from God

  • What a wonderful sermon...a lesson about how to be a true partner in marriage. Agape love for your husband...what a wonderful testament. God bless them both...together again.

  • This is the kind of sermon I wish I could preach.

  • You don't want to preach a sermon like this. I was saved under pastor Hill. I was on the front row at this service. There were laughs and chuckles but as he preached this sermon tears were running down his face. His heart was broken in two. I cannot imagine standing up and preaching my wife's funeral. The power of this word came from the profound pain and tremble in his voice as he wrestled with God's truth! He was preaching to himself! We were just witnesses to a conversation with Hill and God!

  • Wow! I used to watch TBN just to see him and him alone at times. Mike Purkey was also a favorite there. I miss Dr. Hill and wish that there were more like him out there. I'm listening to Reg Kelly out of Missouri right now. You can find his sermons online for free. Different styles but a VERY similar conviction. God bless - Glenn

  • Me too!

  • That came from DEEP within him. Although his message was encouraging to everyone else, you could feel his heart that he would miss her DEARLY!

  • My God, more men should share this type of story about theirs' wives.

  • A true help meet.

  • my my my what power to preach such a great sermon in a rough situation for him god is power

  • this man really changed my life a fellow truck driver gave me the cd with him preaching at his wife funeral and i took that as a gift from god, it really got me closer to god im 26 and was heading in the wrong direction upon listening to sermon thank u dr. hill i love you r.i.p

  • Awesome revelation! RIP. Dr. Hill!

  • There is no preacher like Dr. E.V. Hill! We have lost a great prophet and preacher. No preacher could preach with the kind of authority and power like Dr. Hill. He actually was my pastor in his later years. We affectionally called him "Papa Hill". Good night Papa Hill, we will see you in the morning!

  • I simply loved Dr. Hill. This sermon is a classic.

  • I wish there was a website where I could listen to archived messages by E. V. Hill. He was a powerful servant of God. He sure could preach!

  • This is a powerful ministry which helped transforemd men of any walk into a commitment to be Godly men in the families, community, and church. In fact, the even at the National Mall in Wash DC was an incredible showing of the power of God. I sincerely wish Dr. Hill would be speaking there again. However, his sermon to the Promise Keeper event is on Youtube.

  • Great news! Pastor Hill who was a guest speaker at Promise Keeper events in the 1990s, which drew over 6 million men to national conferences and one million men showed were present on the square in Wash DC to praise God in an event called, "Stand in the Gap." Co-founders Bill McCartney and Raleigh Washington have resumed leadership of this organziation once again. Alert everyone that this great ministry will be back strong again in 2009 to help strenghten more men for Christ!

  • Dr. Hill was truly a man of God who practiced what he preached. He will never be forgotten. I hear his name and quotes referenced in many sermons from other preachers. That is a testimoney to the life he lived.

  • I love Jesus forever!

  • what a powerful woman to drive a car that might have a bomb just for the safety of her husband!!!

  • E.V. Hill telling it like it is.

A sermon from Heaven! The Lord giveth, and the Lord have taken away, Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen.

  • Oh bless him Lord.........that took faith to preach the words at you wife's funeral. The Lord is good and great in his works. May their soul rest in peace

  • I remember when I heard this audio years ago and today it still makes a big difference in my life, "Trust Me" You can't comprehend you can't understand in your mortal state but one day you will. And when you do, just 15 minutes in your new eternal life will easily make up for all of the years of questions and wondering what when why and how. Everything will make sense to those of us who stand in true sound doctrine and faith. Blessings to you for posting.

  • This sermon is awesome for any listener.. however there have been a couple parts edited from this recording. You can order the CD of the full sermon at Focus on the Family website. Also, the CD "Alone with God", by Bill McCartney is a very good hymn and devotional CD available in stores.

  • I have a wife like that. Thirty-eight years...she is the most amazing person I have ever known. She reminds me of Dorcas in the Bible....always doing for others...even when she doesn't feel like it.....she may never be recognized by the powers that be on this earth,...but she will receive her eternal reward of life everlasting, and a crown of life that far surpasses anything we have ever seen on this earth. This message was very inspiring.

  • What a sweet thing...to speak such positive things about your wife. "He who hast a good wife, hast a good thing." God bless you both.

  • thank you

  • thank you, I had first heard this sermon many years ago on the radio. I sent away for a copy of the tape. As I now have come to live by faith, Trust Me is what moves my soul.

  • carnivaltriumph86 there are women like this in the 21st century but as 00joshuajericho said few brothers deserve a woman like this, and at the end of the day they just hide. But he who findeth a wife.... Oh Glory!!!!!

  • oh!!!! bless his holy name! can i get a witness here!

  • The MAN!!!!!!!! In Jesus Name :-)

  • Jesus! Where are the women like this today? Is it even possible to find this kind of wife in the 21st Century?

  • Yes sir doc where are they? However, we must firstly admit that there are few brothers that deserve a woman like this; apparently Dr. Hill was one of those rare brothers.

  • Amen!

  • yes doc god sent me a angle like this

  • Yes, there are women like that today, I know because I am one of them. But the real question is are there men out there who will actually appreciate a woman like that?

  • Good points all! I guess I'll just keep working on being what I want God to bless me with.

  • I wish I could become a woman of that nature. She sounded like she was very grand.

  • God sends them. Be still.

  • And the people said "Amen".

May all glory be given to God.

What a testimony, what power and what truth.

  • I thank God for blessing us with Dr. Hill, and I thank him even more for giving him what he needed in a wife.

  • This has to be the best funeral message i have EVER heard in my life...Its awesome!!

  • I remember when I received this from Focus on the Family. I will never forget this.

  • this is one of the greatest preachers that preached the word of God with power

  • My late husband loved Rev. Hill.

  • this is most amazing to hear...i was there at trinity church on Jefferson Bl. at this funeral. It was life changing.

  • WOW...it is changing me right now!!

  • I am happily married and have been for 3 years, however not even my wife who I love dearly and admire has some of these deep profound qualities. I believe these qualities are missing from our women today. Their sucess and agenda sometimes supersceeds that of their husband. Its amazing that God blessed Pastor Hill with such an amazing helpmate. And God also blessed him with the strength to be able to preach this powerfull message at her funeral. AMAZING !!!!

  • You are so right!!!! I've been married 6 years and I know I will never become as amazing as this woman but I can say my mother who has been married to my father for 40 years is and will always be that amazing to my father.

  • wow....what a testimony about driving the car for her husband after a death threat!
