Please do an updated review for the Enhanced edition of Witcher 2 for PC (as well as Xbox360). I have it on PC and am curious just what all they changed in the update.

And don't bother trying to say having to follow a guy up a ladder for an entire level that takes almost 10 min or not having any action in the first half hour - 1 hour and doing nothing but reading tedious dialog after tedious dialog is playing a game.
A half hour is way more than sufficient to deliver the hack and slash/RPG aspect of it Which it Failed to Deliver like it was supposed to due to what type of game it actually is. It was advertised as a story driven hack & slash/RPG game so that's what it's supposed to be.. Instead we got a heavy rain style game which destroyed the game. I honestly don't care if it's based off a novel, the game wasn't advertised as to what it really was if it had been i never would have picked it up.
@DamnedByDurberg Would you happen to know how much it runs? I really need to replace this HD 4250, and I'm thinking of going for a newer graphics card before I upgrade the processor.

If people are going to continue defending a game they like they should at least come up with a reason when asked. No one instulted anything. I find this game boring it's as simple as that. People are only replying to me like this because they are what as known as fanboys. @VergilsRespite A lot of cards will run this game just fine. I'm using an old 9600gtx 1GB, and have most settings maxed out, and the game is running at an average of 30fps. indoors it runs at something like 60fps or higher. Only settings that are not maxed are resolutions(1280x720), decals(medium spec), uber sampling(disabled), and lod distance(normal).
@VergilsRespite The best graphics card to run any game is the best graphics card that is currently out.... I'm pretty sure that, right now, that's the ATI HD 7970. You couldn't pay me to look up the Nvidia card, but the answer to your question is always the same. The best card to play any given game, is the best released video card.
@boston91388 i3, i5, i7 mostly just indicate features and a few mhz difference. The thing that makes the biggest difference with the number that comes after it. For example, my i5 2400 is actually better than zgr's i7 920. And many i3's are decent for gaming.

@MrTheCoolDude10 Your pc is good enough, apart from the gpu. It'll be somewhat playable on a 9400gt on minimum settings, but it'll be glitchy. Cutscenes glitch to a point that you will miss some things, but gameplay will run a lot more smoothly, but still glitchy. Well anyway, thats just what i've seen when testing my old 9400gt. My cousin beat the whole game using a 9400gt though. If you have not bought the card yet, my advice is do not get it. A 9600gt is close in price and runs much better.
The most importent thing to a role paying game, is YOUR role. Too many games that have come down to claim it self as an RPG makes your descision for you, even if it gives you the option to choose something, you eventually end up in the same place. This game changes that, where you are the main influence in the story. A small detail that you choose in the middle of the story can make the end comepletely different.
the most important thing in an RPG is a story...UMM says who? You. That is nothing more than an OPINION, not facts. Maybe that's what YOU THINK is but I know thousands of other people who think it's not. Opinions don't make up for facts.
NEEDS TO not meaning like it's required by law, but NEEDS TO in the sense for wanting to draw people to it. And yes a game NEEDS TO be fun and motivating, otherwise people who play boring stuff are clearly boring people.

I have a right to my opinion which I find the game very boring and has no motivation in the first 1/2 hour. Nothing anyone says will change that for me.
The bottom line with me is this, a game needs to spark my interest within the first 15 min - 1/2 hour, and explain how it gets played very toroughly if it cannot do those 2 simple things like a game is supposed to, then I will say it's a bad game because as I said before making it boring is not the way to get people to play it.

What good is patching the game with a tutorial if the game is still unmotivating for the first half hour? It doesn't change anything if there is still no motivation for getting a player to play it.

@MPC4Utube by the way It has many motivations to play it on. In my case first was to know why the hell gearlt was in prison, second (the escape) was to know who was that mysterious assasin. BTW in first walkthrough i was very suprised by all sudden actions easter eggs and hidden quests I discovered, by coincidence when sighseeing the map. It was just a bit annoyed in the middle of first act before killing keyran, but rest was awesome to me. I've made about 8-9 walkthroughs and I do NOT regret>>
Doesn't matter if I played it for a 1/2 hour. That's all I need to make an aassesment. What people fail to realize is that If a game cannot keep a player interested to continue wanting to play it even after 15 min, then what's the point to playing it?
Take RISEN for example.
RISEN kept me wanting to play it even after 10 min, there was just something about the way teh game was done that made it interesting to play.

Actually RPG stands for ROLL Playing game taken from Table top pen and paper Dice ROLLING. Later devoloped into the term ROLE for acting out the role of a character you play.. People added what they wanted to the definition totally taking out of context what RPG actually means.

This is most notable in tabletop dice games like D&D where your only have your die, a character sheet with your statistics and your imagination in combination with the Dungeon Master to create your game.

On other note, I didn't fully agree with the review as the story was much shorter than its predecessor and Geralt became visibly weaker with the new fighting system. By the end of the game I thought I was halfway through; It didn't deliver a nearly as powerful ending as what the Witcher 1 did (not to mention how save imports didn't alter the main plot in any significant way)

For instance, you can't act like you know about an ethnic group, without learning about their cultures and society.

I'll need a serious upgrade to play this I guess...I have a crappy laptop with a Radeon ATI 8500 I believe. It can barely run the MMO I play constantly lol.
@HeavyMetalViking89 You need a good graphics card. And when it comes to graphics cards, video ram is actually only used for textures. Your card will also need to be fast enough as well. You know the model numbers? (like nvidia geforce gtx 560 for example) its usually the second number that determines how fast it is, while the first number (and letters) determines how up to date it is. a gtx 550 is roughly as fast as a gtx 460. And gtx 460 is roughly as fast as a gtx 370 and so on.
Is the combat FAST or SLOW? and by these i mean if animations are long (like if you hit you have to wait 1 sec for the guy to get back in position) or if u have to hit ppl a lot (repeatedly) and stuff

however, the game is very awesome except for the fact that you are able to walk ONLY where there is enough space for a car to go through xD
and the combat system is hard to get used to , and you take a while killing a bunch of mobs cuz you have to keep rolling back, but its not FAST, nor slow. And a little bit hard :P
i think its a great game and everything but just the only thing i have to say is that the combat system is really hard even on easy but it takes time to get good at using the fighting

I thought Dragon Age 2 looked better than the 1st bit gotcha was way linear. Witcher 2 on Medium graphics on my laptop was beautiful. Can't wait til I put 3 580s together so it looks nasty.
The ultimate test for graphics whores. Basically it renders everything multiple times, but you need a monster PC to use it (I heard something about over 3GhZ quad cores and 3 good graphics cards). Ive seen people having 70 FPS without it and 25 with ubersampling on.

No one instulted anything. I find this game boring it's as simple as that. People are only replying to me like this because they are what as known as fanboys. That being said they get mad when anyone says anything negative about something they like. I don't justify myself. I say exactly what I didn't like and why. If people don't like it oh well. I'm using an old 9600gtx 1GB, and have most settings maxed out, and the game is running at an average of 30fps. indoors it runs at something like 60fps or higher. Only settings that are not maxed are resolutions(1280x720), decals(medium spec), uber sampling(disabled), and lod distance(normal).

@VergilsRespite The best graphics card to run any game is the best graphics card that is currently out.... I'm pretty sure that, right now, that's the ATI HD 7970. You couldn't pay me to look up the Nvidia card, but the answer to your question is always the same. The best card to play any given game, is the best released video card.

@boston91388 i3, i5, i7 mostly just indicate features and a few mhz difference. The thing that makes the biggest difference with the number that comes after it. For example, my i5 2400 is actually better than zgr's i7 920. And many i3's are decent for gaming.

@MrTheCoolDude10 Your pc is good enough, apart from the gpu. It'll be somewhat playable on a 9400gt on minimum settings, but it'll be glitchy. Cutscenes glitch to a point that you will miss some things, but gameplay will run a lot more smoothly, but still glitchy. Well anyway, thats just what i've seen when testing my old 9400gt. My cousin beat the whole game using a 9400gt though. If you have not bought the card yet, my advice is do not get it. A 9600gt is close in price and runs much better.

The most importent thing to a role paying game, is YOUR role. Too many games that have come down to claim it self as an RPG makes your descision for you, even if it gives you the option to choose something, you eventually end up in the same place. This game changes that, where you are the main influence in the story. A small detail that you choose in the middle of the story can make the end comepletely different.

I have a right to my opinion which I find the game very boring and has no motivation in the first 1/2 hour. Nothing anyone says will change that for me.
The bottom line with me is this, a game needs to spark my interest within the first 15 min - 1/2 hour, and explain how it gets played very toroughly if it cannot do those 2 simple things like a game is supposed to, then I will say it's a bad game because as I said before making it boring is not the way to get people to play it.

@MPC4Utube by the way It has many motivations to play it on. In my case first was to know why the hell gearlt was in prison, second (the escape) was to know who was that mysterious assasin. BTW in first walkthrough i was very suprised by all sudden actions easter eggs and hidden quests I discovered, by coincidence when sighseeing the map. It was just a bit annoyed in the middle of first act before killing keyran, but rest was awesome to me. I've made about 8-9 walkthroughs and I do NOT regret>>

Doesn't matter if I played it for a 1/2 hour. That's all I need to make an aassesment. What people fail to realize is that If a game cannot keep a player interested to continue wanting to play it even after 15 min, then what's the point to playing it?
Take RISEN for example.
RISEN kept me wanting to play it even after 10 min, there was just something about the way teh game was done that made it interesting to play.
A company needs to make it interesting enough to make a player continue

@MPC4Utube The Witcher 2 is a crpg, which in general tend to put a lot of focus on storyline and not just hack and slash (which it was not advertised as anyway). There may have been no motivation for you, and the dialog may have been useless to you, but to say that your opinion is the end all be all of the conversation is ridiculous. If you wanna start killing things within the first ten minutes, stick with fps games.

Actually RPG stands for ROLL Playing game taken from Table top pen and paper Dice ROLLING. Later devoloped into the term ROLE for acting out the role of a character you play.. People added what they wanted to the definition totally taking out of context what RPG actually means.

This is most notable in tabletop dice games like D&D where your only have your die, a character sheet with your statistics and your imagination in combination with the Dungeon Master to create your game.

On other note, I didn't fully agree with the review as the story was much shorter than its predecessor and Geralt became visibly weaker with the new fighting system. By the end of the game I thought I was halfway through; It didn't deliver a nearly as powerful ending as what the Witcher 1 did (not to mention how save imports didn't alter the main plot in any significant way)

@MPC4Utube It's fine to quit playing a game because you are bored by it. That is your choice. If you couldn't enjoy a game like Planescape Torment, there is no point playing it. But do you think you know the game as a whole? Are you absolutely sure the game will go on like the first section you played? All reviewers play the whole thing because they aren't sure about it. For instance, you can't act like you know about an ethnic group, without learning about their cultures and society.

@HeavyMetalViking89 You need a good graphics card. And when it comes to graphics cards, video ram is actually only used for textures. Your card will also need to be fast enough as well. You know the model numbers? (like nvidia geforce gtx 560 for example) its usually the second number that determines how fast it is, while the first number (and letters) determines how up to date it is. a gtx 550 is roughly as fast as a gtx 460. And gtx 460 is roughly as fast as a gtx 370 and so on.

Is the combat FAST or SLOW? and by these i mean if animations are long (like if you hit you have to wait 1 sec for the guy to get back in position) or if u have to hit ppl a lot (repeatedly) and stuff

however, the game is very awesome except for the fact that you are able to walk ONLY where there is enough space for a car to go through xD
and the combat system is hard to get used to , and you take a while killing a bunch of mobs cuz you have to keep rolling back, but its not FAST, nor slow. And a little bit hard :P

The ultimate test for graphics whores. Basically it renders everything multiple times, but you need a monster PC to use it (I heard something about over 3GhZ quad cores and 3 good graphics cards). Ive seen people having 70 FPS without it and 25 with ubersampling on.
