The LS engines are not manufactured by Chevrolet. They are GM engines, manufactured by the GM corporation and used in may different brands of GM cars.

The LS series engines are made by GM. They are not made by Chevrolet.
It would be just as accurate to say "The Corvette Z06 uses a HSV W427 engine".
Holden/HSV use LS engines in more models than any other GM brand. Everyone should start calling the LS series engines "Holden V8 engines".

The LS engines are not manufactured by Chevrolet. They are GM engines, manufactured by the GM corporation and used in may different brands of GM cars.
The Chevrolet Corvette is just one of the cars it is used in.

The 4.4 litre BMW engine that makes 408 kW is a twin turbo engine. The LS7 in the W427 is normally aspirated.
A WP supercharged LS3 is 10 kW more than the BMW engine.
The normally aspirated engine in my car has got 450,000 km on it and it has never had the heads off. Do you think that the BMW engine would last that long?

theboxmike you are correct that a stock 427 would betat the F6, but the Ford can up its power by 50% for about 5k - the 427 just does not have the ability to be improved for cheap so not only does the F6 end up hosing Mr 427, he has 70k left in the bank for an XY stroker for the weekends - Holden simply doesn't have that mix and how many bloody SS commodores are there ,,,,,,,,,,,yawn!!
