Snow in Las Vegas is almost normal, it snows at least once a year if it is cold enough. Don't think Vegas is hot all the time, on average it is colder than LA in the winter.

Snow in the Vegas valley isn't normal, but it isn't unusual.  The weather is a little strange here, we had 7 straight days of rain, then a week of normal weather, then a day of snow and now we are about 6 days of lows below freezing. Usually if it snows in the valley, it's in January, and the same with temps below freezing.
