Mr. Rick Wakeman is a fricking GENIUS on the keyboards. He does things that even now I wonder how the heck he does it. I swear he makes the hardest parts look like childs play. I love playing the keys and no matter how good I get, if I can play 1/16th as good as him, I would be happy!
@zoprohq I did too, in 2010! He's got HUGE hands, right?! (or maybe Im just really small, but I remember his hands as huge. My entire shoulder fit in his hands!)
@darklord8603 The six wives of henry the VIII At the hamptons (2009) the original 1973 album is simply the six wives of henry the Viii. Get it you wont regret.
What I keep thinking about is the bus ride from the station to Hampton Court. On a typical day, it takes about an hour due to terrible traffic. I can only imagine the bus ride on that evening of the show.
Does anyone have a copy of the second night on CD? I have one of the first night, and would love to have the second too. Message or reply if you do! :)
This is fantastic. He is staying fairly faithful to the original synth patches - and he's wearing a cape again just for chuckles and nostalgia I guess. This takes me way back and the skill and dexterity have not diminished at all.
My first RW's album was ..Six Wives... when I was eighteen at 1989, at the same time of ABWH. two years before Union. Joyfull moments that I loved and never can´t forge it! Thanks Rick! I love your music from the bottom of my heart, my soul.
This is a concert Rick gave in May, 2009 at Hampton Court Palace, outside London, during the celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of King Henry VIII's accession.
great concerts both nights. 2nd night was better and the DVD seems to be mostly the 2nd night. Good news is that some of Rick's solos were buried in the mix, but brought to the forefront on the DVD. Some, not all. The bad news is that a lot of Brian Blessed's work was edited quite severely. He really stole the show so it's a bit weird not seeing/hearing all of his commentary. Glad I have the CD's that were produced at the concert. A great experience overall and one I'll treasure always.
What a great video. I didn't know that Santa Claus is such a wonderful keyboard-player !!! So he's bringing all the goodies, toys and prog tunes. God bless Wakeman !!! and merry Progmas wherever you are !!!
Yo al igual que muchos experimentamos la gran satisfaccion de ver a Wakeman y a su hijo en el teatro Teresa Carreño en Caracas hace unos años ya, y les digo que su musica es magia verdadera que permanece en el tiempo.

some men study very hard and became fine musicians.
some men study and perfect themselves even hard to became the
best among the best musicians. very few men are true born artists,
and this special kind of musician study only suffice to keep their soul
running some 1.000.000 light years away from earth, so the rest of us
confound this musician with the music itself, because they are the just
same thing.
