The monster sequence is superb, and the 5 more minutes is great too. I know it's hard to make a decent looking CG with so little rendering capabilities. Just a tip though, when you export from a CG program, try to keep the frame-rate down to 24fps (the film standard). 30fps (NTSC) makes is look like "The Backyardigans".
I sure am sick of the "like to see you do better" defense. A-lot of times you don't need to be 1 of the great masters or Shakespeare to realize that something is bad or great, especially if you have seen more than a few works.
No, the 1s I mentioned were not. How many and what kind of animations have you seen?
Yes that defense sucks because it acts like people cant have any sense of average for works after seeing more than a few of them. It also sucks because it acts like no-one who doesnt take the time and effort or have the natural talent 2 make something better, regardless of whether doing that fits into their lives or interests should act like something is good no matter how much they legitimately notice it isnt.
Well, the blue monster and the caveman seem to be some of the only 2D work on the reel.
Also, the blue monster displays a lot of good ease as well as overreaching action. Plus, there's a moment when there's a pan up on the character, which isn't very easy to do.
The caveman just seems like the traditional "weight" exercise/reel requirement. I will say that I don't think the first cut of the caveman animation is really necessary.
When you used Maya Autodesk to make those 3D figures fight. I think that was the program? Did those characters come with the program or did you have to make them yourself?
which animation pieces in particular are you enquiring about ? The fight sequence ? Just the animation, about 5 days, the gymnastics bit took me around a week. Went over it a couple of times before it started feeling right. the trick flip and cork screw took me 3-4 days too.
Sorry to keep asking all these questions, but how did you learn how to make them? Was it hard to make them and do u kno where i can learn to sculpture them. Thanks for all the help so far.
hehe I know! :) Would love yto see what you think of my videos when you have the time. :)

Most of them looked great but I don't know why you thought that the blue monster and caveman were anything to show off.

It was really well animated and worth showing off. I don't understand why you don't think so... You are right though my defense was lame :P

It aint any different from the hammer you get at a hardware store. The furniture doesnt build itself.
everything from scratch. nothings built in.
