In order for DARWINIAN evolution to happen there needs to be some mechanism to write NEW LINES OF CODE to the genome (which is analogous to a software program).

Some change deletes code. Some change rearranges existing code. Neither is adequate to account for Darwinian evolution. Darwinian evolution requires that NEW code be written.

All genetic mutations are not downgrades -- for instance, some varieties of bacteria have recently developed the ability to digest nylon, and that certainly seems like an upgrade. Darwin himself said in The Origin of Species that the sheer complexity of the human eye made the theory of natural selection seem absurd, but a couple sentences later he mentions that if it can be shown how the eye could have evolved in gradations from useful predecessors, it doesn't pose a problem. markjam, I think this is a pretty obvious one, if you attend geology class or biology. I won't go into details, there are enough resources out there. Earth condensed out of the dust from a deceased star, as did all planets. Evidence for evolution includes genetics, lab studies on small organisms, fossils of larger organisms, etc. Hope this helps you out.
