I have a acer aspire one aoa 150 basicly the same one you are showing. I am running Windows 7 RC on it instead of the xp however it does not help you with the usb failers. i have the same problems with mine (as well as my gf's who has a aoa 150 as well) The usb on these machines are pieces of shit. other then that great little computer :P
I have the same Acer Aspire One, and the same Logitech mouse with nano receiver, I love the receiver, you can just plug it in and leave it there forever.
Also, for people considering getting an Aspire One, the 120GB model is an old one, theyve since replaced the 120s with 160s, the only way you'll get a HDD model with less than a 160 is if you get an old one thats been sitting around for a while.
I've even heard of people buying ones that say 120 on the box but its 160 inside.
i really waqnt to ge tone can any o-jne reply to tell me the feathures like i know 12o gigis for hard drive and 1 gig for ram but maaan i want one im getting one fopr christmas or for next pay!!
Just wait in a few months when the netbooks with NVIDIA's Ion platform come out. Atom + 9 series GPU. :) They'll be just as capable as a larger notebook, which current netbooks are not. Full Vista/Win 7 capable, can play blu-ray quality HD movies perfectly. Yeah...Ion kicks ass!
hey Rob, about a year ago I bought the eeePC with the 10inch screen, it works really well for travel. which is why I bought it. Took it with me DG last year. Nice to see the micros receivers, I might have to look into that.
I have always felt the same way about USB devices on laptops. I can't really think of any solutions other than what you've already come up with. Those netbooks are cool; I've been looking at getting an MSI Wind.
Hmm...you seem kind of paranoid about that problem. I really don't think any of that set-up was needed because you are just as conscious of it now as you were before.
Olexin - Yaw but.... it's nothing you or I can't modify. Oh yeah, I was able to overcome the non-CD drive problem. I would just use my regular home computer's CD drive, and then copy the CD contents to a 1GB SD card. Then I could run the CD stuff from my 1GB card.
Hey Rob, missed you man, spoke to Billmaa the other day and asked him, were you watchin your little boy travellin man. He said you were keepin an eye on him!LOL Like your notebook, work just ordered me a new Macbook 2.4, cant wait to get it, myself, i have always had a PC, jus worried about usin a Mac for the first time. Your Chicken is in safe hands man. :)LOL
Guybrush1816351 - I'm running XP. It comes preloaded. I'm really not liking Vista. I'll wait until they come up with the next version of Windows that's not so bloated.
Tried any of the *nix varients that are made for netbooks?
like Ubuntu Netbook Remix?
Im not fond of Vista myself ,run it as a virtual machine under ubuntu (for software dev/school dev), on my laptop. I would run linux on my main pc instead of XP aswell if it wernt for the fact i run a 3 monitor setup for gaming :P.
So i wonder if you tried *nix before coz it seems a good choice on these "low power" laptops.
Guybrush1816351 - I've never ran any of the Linux varients, as I'm not as experimental as I used to be. I might have gone for it in the past, but these days I just want the software to run correctly. Most of the stuff I run is made for XP, and not for Vista, so I'm pretty much stuck with that.
please can u help me my acer wont connect to the internet its full signal but it wont connect help

Funny how small everything is getting. But noone has made a laptop with a built in transceiver for a mouse?
Itsreload 2 years ago
not every mouse would work with that, but on the other hand i wonder if you can piggy back it of a usb connnection on the inside :)
Guybrush1816351 2 years ago
Itsreload - I used to own an old Fujitsu notebook that came with an IR mouse. It was great.

Olexin - I'm thinking of getting the RAM upgrade for this guy.
Spencerian 2 years ago
been thinking on that too,
but the word on the street is that its hardo to do it on this laptop due to the size of it
and another thing i dont like is that it dosnt have cd thingy
