  • you should of got the 2 year warrenty loike i did i had to return my blue for a white one

  • I had the same issue with my bluetooth adapter so I got a netbook that has bluetooth, eee 1000he

  • dude your netbook should come with a intergratted camera and you can use windows media player to record with your cam istead of wearing your helmet

  • Why Helmet? Is it stolen?

  • Karanstyle - My camera is also my helmet cam... so that's what I use to film first person point of view .

  • Great Dude!!!

  • i would love to ride a bike and film it on a helmet cam...cool helmet!

  • great info! nice helmet too!

  • are you gonna get a 6 cell battery? im considering getting the MSI Wind.

  • btw why are you wearing a helmet o.O

  • unknownpocketlint - I have to practice safe computing while using my helmet cam.

  • I have a acer aspire one aoa 150 basicly the same one you are showing. I am running Windows 7 RC on it instead of the xp however it does not help you with the usb failers. i have the same problems with mine (as well as my gf's who has a aoa 150 as well) The usb on these machines are pieces of shit. other then that great little computer :P

  • I have the same Acer Aspire One, and the same Logitech mouse with nano receiver, I love the receiver, you can just plug it in and leave it there forever.

Also, for people considering getting an Aspire One, the 120GB model is an old one, theyve since replaced the 120s with 160s, the only way you'll get a HDD model with less than a 160 is if you get an old one thats been sitting around for a while.

I've even heard of people buying ones that say 120 on the box but its 160 inside.

    Good luck.

  • i really waqnt to ge tone can any o-jne reply to tell me the feathures like i know 12o gigis for hard drive and 1 gig for ram but maaan i want one im getting one fopr christmas or for next pay!!

  • its a CDless OS, that means you dont need a operating cd.

heres the steps to erasing pc & it puts all the rest of your desk top software back all in 20 minutes,

    (Steps)

    Go to Start .

    All programs .

Click on Acer Empower technologies .

click on Restore systems to default.

    Click ok.

the system shuts down Automatically & erases & puts everything back including PC desktop Software.

    your DONE ,Good luck.

  • I have one and its awesome XD

  • "let it live there" laugh my ass off , oh yeah vloggging velcro tecnology aplied to laptops lolol

  • Just wait in a few months when the netbooks with NVIDIA's Ion platform come out. Atom + 9 series GPU. :) They'll be just as capable as a larger notebook, which current netbooks are not. Full Vista/Win 7 capable, can play blu-ray quality HD movies perfectly. Yeah...Ion kicks ass!

  • Funny how small everything is getting. But noone has made a laptop with a built in transceiver for a mouse?

  • not every mouse would work with that, but on the other hand i wonder if you can piggy back it of a usb connnection on the inside :)

  • Itsreload - I used to own an old Fujitsu notebook that came with an IR mouse. It was great.

  • Actually they have, it's called "bluetooth".....yea it's for more than just cell phone ear pieces :D

  • hey Rob, about a year ago I bought the eeePC with the 10inch screen, it works really well for travel. which is why I bought it. Took it with me DG last year. Nice to see the micros receivers, I might have to look into that.

  • Britex3186- I was debating on the Asus Eee since they've been around the longest.

  • Does the battery on the Acer last long?

  • I have always felt the same way about USB devices on laptops. I can't really think of any solutions other than what you've already come up with. Those netbooks are cool; I've been looking at getting an MSI Wind.

  • Hmm...you seem kind of paranoid about that problem. I really don't think any of that set-up was needed because you are just as conscious of it now as you were before.

  • What OS does that have? I've seen them pre-loaded with Ubuntu Linux.

  • 919colorado23 - It comes with Windows XP, which I prefer.

  • hey man, i have the same laptop.

the only probñlem i have with it is that it kinda gets too hot, in like 1 hour of use,

but just like you, i did some mods to fix that prob

Nice vids man, keep it up

  • Olexin - I'm thinking of getting the RAM upgrade for this guy.

  • been thinking on that too,

but the word on the street is that its hardo to do it on this laptop due to the size of it

and another thing i dont like is that it dosnt have cd thingy

  • Olexin - Yaw but.... it's nothing you or I can't modify. Oh yeah, I was able to overcome the non-CD drive problem. I would just use my regular home computer's CD drive, and then copy the CD contents to a 1GB SD card. Then I could run the CD stuff from my 1GB card.

  • LOL

    yeah, got me there

well i bohgt me a external cd drive

you just connect it to 2 usb ports and thats all

and its really thin, i think its thinner than the laptop itself

  • nice!

  • very cool! Thanks

  • I use notebook mouse aswell, track pad gives me hand cramp.

    Good idea with the velco

    :-)

  • You're always tinkering with your stuff Rob, keep up the good work :)

  • The velcro company should sponsor you lol. Nice set up Rob.

  • cvid2 - velcro is my friend. velcro is your friend too.

  • Dude you are such a Geek ,Im jealous thought I was all Geeked out but you beat me hands down .

    Thanks for the info .

  • MonsterM636 - checkout my half keyboard in the background, along with my ShuttlePro video editing wheel. wee!

  • I love the ingenuity!!

  • cool. I didn't know they had wireless and bt mouse receivers that were that small.

  • abysal311 - in this case, size does matter... but in the non-mainstream way.

  • Hey Rob, missed you man, spoke to Billmaa the other day and asked him, were you watchin your little boy travellin man. He said you were keepin an eye on him!LOL Like your notebook, work just ordered me a new Macbook 2.4, cant wait to get it, myself, i have always had a PC, jus worried about usin a Mac for the first time. Your Chicken is in safe hands man. :)LOL

  • Now the big question :) what os do you use :) .

  • the operating sistem for the aspire one is Windows XP

but i puy vista inspirat on mine

  • Guybrush1816351 - I'm running XP. It comes preloaded. I'm really not liking Vista. I'll wait until they come up with the next version of Windows that's not so bloated.

  • Tried any of the *nix varients that are made for netbooks?

    like Ubuntu Netbook Remix?

Im not fond of Vista myself ,run it as a virtual machine under ubuntu (for software dev/school dev), on my laptop. I would run linux on my main pc instead of XP aswell if it wernt for the fact i run a 3 monitor setup for gaming :P.

So i wonder if you tried *nix before coz it seems a good choice on these "low power" laptops.

  • Guybrush1816351 - I've never ran any of the Linux varients, as I'm not as experimental as I used to be. I might have gone for it in the past, but these days I just want the software to run correctly. Most of the stuff I run is made for XP, and not for Vista, so I'm pretty much stuck with that.

  • if you want to you can run windows 7 rc on it instead of xp. thats what i have on my asus netbook
