  • Nice steam engines - excellent video quality.

Make a lot of fun to watch,

  • Thank you, Yes very nice to see and play with. Wish I had one myself... :-)

  • Hi yes i found out what traction engine it was at 1:18 its a small 4" ruston proctor traction engine

  • Hi what i don't understand is "castings" is it to help you to build these traction engines and at 1:36 i love that so much and when you next see him could you ask him for me where he got it or if he says that he built it how and where and how long did it take him to build it and how he got the parts from and where he got the parts from thanks jay

  • Thanks for watching and your interest, however I dont know any of these people, I just filmed them. Castings are "Cast Steel or Iron" which usually form fancy shapes or patterns where it would be to expensive to machine from a solid block of normal steel. A pattern has to be made first, then a sand moulding, then molten steel is poured in and hey presto in simple terms, obviously there is a little more to it than just that. You need to get involved in this kind of hobby to pick up information...

  • Excellent video - must be another one of these affairs in Northants shortly! :-) - Mike

  • Thanks, Yes Im off to Swavesey Show Ground for the Steam, Vintage Extravaganza this coming weekend 25th / 26th near Cambridge just off the A14 near the start of the M11

  • In all honesty I've no idea, these things just seem to materialise don't they. It is quite a neat looking little thing I must say. And the one at 2:45 I'd like that one also. I suppose you have to be in this kind of circle to find out any info on such things.
