Awesome video. The Phillipines have some of the most amazing looking bird species in the world. It's very sad that so many are endangered and that so many people also suffer because of the high pressures upon the Phillipine environment for natural resources.
Change does not come easy back home. We don't have to go to the wilds. Just look how we treat our home pets, the cats and dogs. We kick them, yell at them, feed them with left-overs sharp bones, we don't take them to vets for preventive meds, we forget to give them water, considering the hot and humit weather back home. We have a long way to go in the humane treatment of our endemic animals which God gave to us.
Growing up in the hills of the islands, I was passionately thrilled to shoot with a slingshot or air rifle any living feathered friend and I remember it now with shame for my uncultured past. Nobody told me it was wrong. I wonder how much of this attitude is still with kids. Appreciation of the wonders and blessing that surrounds us should be first & foremost together with the 3 R's from kindergarten days. This video need more wildlife variety footage as a birdwatching video.
