My cat also hated other cats.

One time back in 2003, this kid brought his kitten over and she started hissing and growling. Finally my nana said that he'd better get it out of the house.

In 2008, I met the kid on the bus and he told me, "I think your cat still hates me for bringing that cat over."

@fruit17cake Time is all it takes...I found a kitten on the street, brought it into my house and at that time I had 2 other cats and they were doing the same thing the blue cat in the video was. That was in 2007, now that the kitten is full grown, he's good friends with one of those cats that was growling and hissing. The other one passed away in 2008, but as for the 2 cats I have now it's all good. Make sure once the kitten gets older to have him fixed.

@fruit17cake check out the video "When Sparta met Loki" obviously your 2 cats have already met eachother so this won't do you much good. But when introducing future cats to eachother this trick rly helps. The fence makes it rly non threatening because they can see and smell eachother while not having to worry about being attacked. All cats know that cats can spontaneously attack stuff, including other cats.

this happens all the time and the only way to make it stop is to lock them in a room for a few days with food water and a litter box but it isn't always succeful and smarter to start when they are young and the same age.

You have to introduce new cats to each other very delicately. It took my 1st cat approx 2 months to adjust to our 2nd cat, and it has to be done right, or often they will never adapt.

If you google it, you'll get great tips to make it less stressful for our pets.

When i got my kitty, i was told to keep them seperated for 2 whole weeks,i was thinking i could never do that until i introduced them to eachother and my original cat scratched the hell oudda my husband. so i kept them seperated for like a week and a half so they can smell eachother through the door and stuff and them when they were put together they loved eachother sooo much, they are sooo inseperable now.

Really, the worse thing you can do is push the cats together. This can cause resentment. Being a Cat owner of 4, when introducing a new feline, leave them alone, they'll acclamate on their own time. They're adorable!!

my older cat Pickket sort of reacted simmilar when she first met Sandy, only no one was holding either cat. Pickket crouched down and started growling while Sandy (at 8 weeks then) arched her tiny back up and pinned her ears back with her tail all bushy and did her own high pitched growl. Sandy was scared! i remember when i introduced a kitten to my two cats. the female (younger) one was very upset, hissing at him and smacking him. many nights i cried, not knowing what i should do, but in the end they got used to eachother and i used to take string and have each cat play with one end. kinda like "team building exercises" lol. now they're a happy family, the 3 of them. i hope it all works out :)

My oldest cat of 14 years is like that! She hates all of our new cats, yet she enjoys watching them play/going outside with them, she just doesn't want them playing with her or messing with her space.
