  • Thank You!

  • Hello. i am getting this for christmas most likely...but i was wondering a few things. Has this been confirmed to function on a 3.0 2nd gen JAILBROKEN ipod touch (8g)? Great service by the way!

  • Hi DaneDude,

Yes the adapter will work on even a jailbroken touch, as long as you have a 2nd or 3rd gen you should be all set. The button on the adapter even activates voice control on the 32 and 64G versions.

    Thanks for your post!

  • So what i wanna do is, I wanna buy this mic, plug in some boxes, and buy I Am T-Pain app. Do you think it will work?

  • Hi Xonah,

Any external speakers will work when plugged into the top of the mic, as long as the plug is a 3.5mm size. Hope this helps!

    -TouchMic

  • Thanks for replying! The 3.5mm size is the same as the entrance for the iPod Touch itself right? And do you also ship to Europe, the Netherlands?

  • Can you clarify something for me? So you can still use your headphones while you have the microphone attached?

  • It doesn't show in this video if there is a port on the end of the mic to plug your headphones into. There are microphone adapters out there where you can use both headset and mic simultaneously. You could probably just go to touchmic's website and see.

  • question: your video does not clearly show how this product connects with the iPod.

Secondly, and somewhat unrelated, what do you think about Voxie? I've been looking for a voice recorder, and voxie seems nice..

  • Hi there,

The adapter has a 3.5mm plug which plugs into the 3.5mm jack on the iPod.

Voxie is a great program. We find their wifi file transfer sync with your computer and recording quality are better than many other programs.

If you want to record things at a distance we recommend HT Recorder. That app has a setting to amplify sounds further from your mic.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers!

  • I thought it was 2nd but it turned out to be 1st. They returned all my money (and gave me a $5 credit) and I've been waiting for them to restock it on their site so I can place another order.

  • Salinkus - We expect to have the iVoice in stock mid-late June, so stay tuned.

KeekingSpiv - You should be getting your free replacement any day now, if you have any issues please just send us an email. :)

  • I never bought a replacement. Unfortunately they've been sold out of the one I need since I made that comment.

  • They never ~sent~ you a replacement??

  • I think Salinkus has a 1st Gen Ipod Touch.. so the lapel mic wouldnt have worked.. he needs a 1st gen compatible mic..

  • does this work with the skype app on 2g ipod touch?

  • Yes it does.

  • I'm really considering this mic and I was wondering how well it records sound. I sing good, and I want to record a few songs with it. I have some Skullcandy headphones so I don't need new buds... I was lookin for an in-line control adapter to use with them though, so this seems perfect! And it looks like I could use either of my current PC mics with this b/c it has both required slots. I hope the sound quality is good... :-) I'm probably buying this soon, thanks for the video! It was good proof.

  • also I was wondering, can I plug in a normal headset (like for cellphones) in the top? I know I can't use my PC mic... but I don't want to anymore

  • Hey there,

We think that amongst the lapel mics out there ours has the best recording quality. Also ours has a volume control while the others do not. You can plug in a normal headset into the top of the mic, as long as it has a 3.5mm jack it should work.

    Hope that helped!

  • thanks for responding, I didn't think you would. I was looking for two main things, an add-on volume control to use with my current headphones and a microphone to use with my touch (I don't have any other new iPods so if this only works with touch that's okay). I think you already answered this, but just to be sure: can I turn off the mic and simply use this as volume controls for my headphones JUST to listen to music? I think it can, and would be perfect for both... sorry for all the questions

  • We try to respond to everyone :) !

The volume switch will work without a problem. The only time the mic is "on" is when you run an app that needs it to be on. The button on it will also pause/resume your songs.

    Cheers!

  • thanks for all the help! I just bought one a few hours ago, and I got a receipt emailed to me that said it takes a day to process and 4-6 business days to get here... :(

Oh well, I can wait. I hope the "24 hours to process" includes weekends, so that I can get it next week... and it better be 4 days. Whenever I get it I will review it and see how it is. Mind if I post a video response?

  • Hi, all orders ship the very next morning, unless you ordered very early in the day, then it would be earlier. ...

Usually shipments arrive within 2-3 days but we cannot control the USPS so we quote 4-6 max. You ought to have your mic this week no problem.

  • thanks for everything dude, I filmed a video with your mic. I posted it as a video response, you just have to approve it. It's a little boring in the middle though... sorry :-)

It has a loud rock song and it's a lot more hardcore for all people like me who like that stuff. The song on yours makes viewers focus on the mic though, so nice job. Mine is just a cool video.

  • I bought this and it doesn't work with my iPod Touch 2nd Gen

Did I just get a defective mic or what?

  • Hi Salinkus,

Although rare it is possible the mic was damaged in shipping or defective. Just send us an email to support@touchmicDOTcom and we will be happy to send you a replacement free of charge or perhaps help you troubleshoot the situation.

  • does it work on my 1st gen touch? (fw ver: 2.2.1, jailbroken)

  • i don't think so

  • Hi HunPeiro,

It will not work on 1G Touch. There are other mics that will however, check out our site for details.

  • hi i dont get it if i have a 2nd generation ipod and i wanna record all i have to do is plug in my micrphone into the jack and record? its a normall one that plugs into comp but it plugged into touch plz help

  • Hi there, this adapter actually has a mic BUILT IN. So all you need to do is plug this in to your iPod Touch to record. Then if you want sound output, you can just plug your headphones (or any external speakers) into the top of the mic to listen to music, ect..

    Hope that helped!

  • hi fisherman, this adapter will not work on the 1st gen, even with the 2.2 update. However TouchMic does carry mics that will work with your 1st Gen Touch.

Subscribe to the channel to keep up to date on latest microphone related news for the iPod Touch.

    Cheers!! :)

  • will it work on the 1st gen if you have the 2.2 update?
