  • ooooo no no no hahaha I have nerves but I'd be flippin out on the inside!!!!!!

  • I tend to ruin underwear when I hear the engines being throttled ahead in a vain attempt to compensate for hail and wind shear.

  • Wow?

  • fuck that!

  • Did you crash ?

  • o they recorded this i was on this plane

  • Plane is a Cessna Citation

  • adding that music was an awful thing to do.

  • Thats some expensive damage

  • This is a boeing 747SP if i'm right.

  • @SWE370 what??? are you serious?

  • @SWE370 There is no way that was a 747, the cockpit gave it away

  • @dookiekong007

I saw it now that it's not an boeing 747SP, the cockpit of boeing 747SP look like that cockpit, i saw that it is 2engines and an boeing 747 have 4engines

  • @SWE370 No absolutely not, it's a very small aircraft.

  • @wesseldewerk

Yes, I know it now, I thought it was an boeing 747SP but its not, the cockpit like te boeing 747SP cockpit.

  • @SWE370 Hahahahaha. 747SP?? Hahahaha!

  • Looks like good times.... NOT..........

  • this is one of those times I would have told tower to "Go f*** yourself, I'm changing course)

  • be happy to be alive ........... the hail can destroy the whole cell of the plane or the engines/jets

  • Ughhh...I would NOT be too happy to be on that flight! I HATE the way those engines sound. Were they ready to conk out?? Anyway, glad you made it safe!

  • is that a learjet

  • @planes997 incorrect that is a citation

  • So ein Alptraum.....

  • did they reaaly get fired? :(( they where only doing thier jobs :((

  • @MyPegasus7 No they weren't.

  • Canadian guy is not amused.

  • Well there goes the paint job

    and everyones underwear needs changing

  • FIRED:)

  • dumbasses......thats like rear ending the car in front of you.....no excuse.

    shitty flight crew.

  • Lol what are all these cotton balls doing in the sky

  • In emergency, PIC's choice rules.

They got pretty lucky on this one. ..a cracked windshield? Ah, not now.

  • if hail gets in those jets...they all be fucked

  • @figget44 not really, all jet engines are able to take, hail, sand, and heavy amounts of water.

  • @figget44 I'm sure you are joking. I'd never fly any type of jet that would lose power because of hail. Fortunately the FAA would never certify such a ridiculous design.

  • Jeez! It is your plane? That mustve been expensive.

  • always a light moment after you don't crash.

  • PIC (Pilot in Command) can deviate from course, as needed. Controllers do not dictate safety.

  • Id be worried for the engines more than anything else, turbine doesnt like hail too much

  • @KimmurielBaenre and we spent some money to replace internal parts....

  • I would have been sitting in a puddle of my own filth. AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

  • @DrewFaron That's what the Canadian did.....

  • LOL! I know! did you see his face? I hope he was wearing a diaper.

  • I would have shit my pants.

  • nice video,do you have it without music, because ,then you understand what the guys said in the end

  • @a090006 I agree.. Sorry but we should not be transparent regarding the comments to avoid "more burocracy" with FAA.. That's why we could not show every thing including the plane prefix..

  • dammmn....i would think that if you were flying a prop they would get mighty ripped up here

  • @manifestgtr You're right but we faced the same situation with a king air and I can say that I felt more control....

  • Here in Portsmouth, England, there has been about 3 hailstorms, usually with a bit of lightning

  • A/C I think it's a Citation Jet... Look at the engine instruments, they still look like CJ series

  • what type of plane was this??

  • Hahahah at 01:00 "My Canadian friend, really comfortable..." poor dude...

  • He looks quite unhappy.

  • @DrBPhD He is the happiest guy i meet... In fact he was having real bad time there.... You don't see, You listen, and you are just waiting some major failure and alarms going on..

  • @GinoRc He's becoming a pop star....He avoid us all the time due to the video...... But emergency situations always bring lots of adrenaline ....

  • i would hate to pay that repair bill holy crap

  • @planesrfun1 $ 42 K

  • the music at the end is queer as fuck

  • im still laughing at your comment!

  • lol

  • @taleofrevenge what you suggest to replace and we will do it for you....

  • Looks like you owed your pilots dinner after that skilled landing!

  • @boeingLL747 So far we don't know who's responsible for that. In fact they had skills, but we would like to have pilots who had avoided that situation.....

  • omg amazing 1:30 looks like your gonna crash! i shit brix!

  • Nice, good thing your engines didn't flame out from FOD damage.

  • @mvrk151 That's a real issue and a real concern at the time..... specially because we needed to increase a lot in order to keep the altitude....

  • what is this a learjet?

  • It looks very comfortable on the seat your friend is sitting =) Wish I could sit there ^^

  • @Familyguy812 He's a Canadian but his skin was yellow like an asian..... Lips with no color !!!

  • Looks scary!!!

  • thats a whole lotta shit!

  • wx radars dont always detect areas of hail

  • @skysurfer0805 You right. Our radar showed but the controllers never allowed us to change course .... That's why we had time to pick up the camera

  • @esbrabr "Our radar showed but the controllers never allowed us to change course" ... "They got fired"

So why did they get fired?

  • @wye4379 Not sure if they got fired, but the pilot has final say in where he takes plane, if he deemed it dangerous he could have told controller hes changing course due to safety reasons and control cant argue. Hence the words "Pilot in Command"

  • @esbrabr Sound like the pilots forgot who has the final authority for the flight. I would like to think the captain would be more interested in keeping his passengers out of a storm than in avoiding the paperwork involved in overriding ATC.

  • @esbrabr I'm sure the ATC's would have to answer for this if an incident occurred. If I were to see hail on my wx radar, I'd be demanding a change of course.

  • @esbrabr Yeah those pilots needed to exercise emergency authority and deviate against ATC instructions. Controllers have NO final authority over the safety of that aircraft. I had to do it once as an Airline Pilot, controller didn't even seem to mind.

  • they are so brave. i would have been screaming my head. and doo doo in my pants.

  • I want to chastise these moron pilots so bad, but unfortunately we don't have the details.

  • sometimes shit happens

  • which type of plane is it? thanks.

  • Looks like a Cessna Citation...

  • yes..

    citation-I...

    old but reliable...

  • Hora de comprar um radar meteorológico....

  • jajaja has dado en el clavo!!!

  • "Gee why don't I turn on the WX radar,

and maybe I could deviate if anything turns up?"

    "Nah let's fly through hail!!"

Grade A dumb ass flight crew.

  • @stove6 funny and excellent comment... They got fired..

  • Who got fired!!!!

  • @esbrabr Did you really fire them? If so, you really need to learn more about flying before you judge the flight crew.

  • @stove6 this plane dont have wx.. duh

    grade A dum ass comment!

  • @IphenonI this plane most certanly does have WX. what do you think they keep in the radome

  • I THINK IF THERES A CONVECTIVE SIGMET THEN ITS PROLY A GOOD IDEA MAYBE TO DEVIATE FROM THEIR ORIGINAL ROUTE AS FILED. FUCKIN STUPID ASS PILOTS

  • @moebzez Fuckin stupid ass comment. Obviously your have nothing more than a sub-private pilot knowledge of how things work. If every commercial airplane diverted or grounded due to a convective sigmet, no one would get anywhere. Get a life and quit trying to pretend to be a real pilot. Fuckin stupid ass poser.

  • @nofxslc You tellem' Chuckie Lindberg.

  • @stove6 Guess what?? when your landing it DOES NOT MATTER!!

IF it was bad enough to avoid flying through, tower would have kept them from flying in, as with all other aircraft.

Sometimes the weather can be worst than you can believe, but sometimes you just gotta go through.

  • @biggestMetallicAfan "Sometimes the weather can be worst than you can believe, but sometimes you just gotta go through." Not correct and apparently the philosophy of the PIC. I can only assume both pilots lost their jobs. They really were fortunate if the only damage was the nose. Would like to have seen the leading edges of the wings and elevator and the engine's turbine blades. The sound inside that aircraft must have been incredibly violent.

  • @TheTemest Yes i know... i have flown through some pretty serious shit in my career, fortunately nothing as bad as this hail.

But yes any damage to the aircraft could have been avoided, the PIC should have seen and decided to either wait to land, or divert, i don't have the knowledge of an Captain though, as im only an FO.

  • @biggestMetallicAfan So is that you at 1:59 in the vid "A tribute to Delta and Skywest Airlines"?

  • @TheTemest No it is not, i was in jump seat on route from KSLC to KLAX, i wasn't flying, and FYI not all of those pics are mine, only about a quarter of them are.

  • When the pilotes were talking, i think they were saying something like

pilot nr 1 : Man the window is cracking should we change course

pilot nr 2 : neeaah let's ask for permision first

  • great video, I would of expected more damage to the fuselage. The passenger on the right shat himself.

  • Any broken windows there?

  • find a lot of holes in the wind shield next to the windows..

  • haha that was pretty cool and dam loud!

Cool to see how pilots take action in situations like these.

And dam, those engines sound good xD

  • Does this happen every time a plane goes through a rain cloud? in other words takeoffs and landings at raining conditions. Note: if my knowledge is accurate hail is always present in all rain clouds, most of the time we don't see it because it melts before it reaches ground, am I right?

  • yep

  • to ararara78: can I just say "LOL" to what you just wrote?

and if you wrote something like that I think you are an airline captain in flight simulator X my friend! go back to your playstation now...

  • explain instead of laughing..and i'm not ur friend,ur deviating from THE subject..

  • i use a 70 million $ playstation and i get paid to have fun....

  • ararara78, you moron, undelete your comment. I want to see how stupid it was to get a laugh.

    Thanks.

  • looked very painful at the end. to the plane and to the pocket.

  • that was cool. what type of plane was that?

  • i beleive it is a cessna citation

  • sorry for the delay.....

    yes, it it a Citation-I, a "a brave one"

  • there was only minor damage to the plane.

  • Unlike lightning, hail can actually cause damage to the aircraft. Most aircraft that travel through hail of any moderate size are grounded until damaged flight surfaces and fuselage skin can be replaced. Ice striking aluminum at 250 miles per hour isn't pretty. I don't think any pilot would intentional travel through hail, but during an approach system likes this can spring up with little warning.

  • The pilots saw the red colors in the radar and they've requested the control, several times, to change course --> denied....

I spent a lot do fix the fuselage and check engines.. almost 2 months grounded until FAA releases to flight again

I've filed a formal complain against the control...

  • well, flying is safer than driving a car!

  • during a storm theres very great changes on the airplane speed due to the winds anfd that make the airplane goin up and down .

  • Looks like fun!

  • why should they be grounded? ...! moron...

  • Holy shit...this is why I don't fly...If I was in the airplane I'd freak to the max

  • nice

  • youu right.. just watch how yellow the man was and why he said.."let's have dinner with St Peter's tonight"...

  • whats "yellow the man" mean?

  • sorry... my mistake...the man was sick..... his skin color "was yellow"... :)

  • that must be scary
