  • I've always heard these ride like a dream

  • look at that trunk, i can only imagine how many bodies i can put in, and still drive like a BOSS

  • more metal than 10 new caddies

  • It's not far from thruth as Brezhnev had collection of luxury cars like Rolls-Royce, Mercedes 600 and alikes.

  • Did they actually expect you to listen to this crap for 8.50 minutes??

  • A commercial made by failed political writers with Hollywood aspirations.

    This is terrible!

  • 6:45 In Soviet Russia, Leader pissed at you.

  • 8:29 In Soviet Russia, car pwns you.

  • Comment removed

  • It also demonstrates the unfairness of the Soviet system.

The best Soviet civilians coult hope for was the ZiS 110, a reverse engineered Packard (not built from Packard dies).

  • NEW WHEELCAPS, HOLY SHIT.

  • This is my dream year! but in a 4door hardtop.

  • @ 1:14...as a matter of fuck, you are correct?.....lol

  • wow how far we have come, 3 speeds in the 1966, 8 speeds in 2011

  • @contractki11er

question is "did we ever need more than 4?".

    we certainly dont need 8.

    even 2 does the job.

  • @contractki11er but still cars are not 5x faster.

  • WHEELBASE! lol

  • 6:01 it has Disney Music

  • the guy in the suit is hott

  • @eskimochild87 that's just what I was thinking!

  • My first car was a '66. It was 11 years old and looked decent. It was a coupe, and '66 was the first year for that style, after 1960.

  • My uncle had a 1967 Continental...it was constantly plagued by electrical and mechanical problems...and this was in the 1970's...so the car wasn't that old. A nice riding car when it wasn't in the shop.

  • wow,that's a long commercial

  • lame n boring lol

  • is this a commerical or a full length movie?

  • @Onry1 this is actually a dealer promotional film ...this is to long for a commercial ...there is actually alot more to this video

  • My goodness. That is a GORGEOUS car!!!!

  • I bought one of these in a 67 model convertable just as a fluke. It was White with red interior. I kept it from 1977-1987. It was a dialy driver off and on.

  • what slang it is? sounds like south-east-europe ...

  • It was a hilarious video, Love the big Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns.

  • Do you know how many bodies you could fit in that trunk? This was the ulitmate mobster car.

  • i got a 1967 lincoln all white whith dark green seats, all original exept it hasent ran in forever and needs to be gone through and restored a little bit

  • See folks. There were fags back in 66 too.

  • God, I miss my '67 two door...celery green, green leather interior...best car I ever had. As for gas mileage, I bought that car in Chehalis, WA, drove it for three days back to Chicago (2300 miles), and with 94K miles on it, the ol' girl never burned a drop of oil, and I averaged almost 15 mpg on the highway, which is better than most full sized SUV's these days. If I could find that car again, I'd buy it up in a heartbeat...

  • Comrades were no longer satisfied with their GAZ Chaika...

  • My uncle had a new '62 that got 6 miles to the gallon. Lincoln had

their 430 cubic inch engine sucking gas thru a dinky little 2 barrel carb. If

they had kept the 1958 430 4 barrel, it produced 375 horsepower, which

was a must for a nearly 6,000 pound car. I believe they went to 462 cu in

for 1966 before settling into the 460 "Big Block Cleveland" in 68 or 69.

The 462 was a FE motor. The 460 was completely different and better.

This commercial makes you want to HURL, (but not from the car)

  • Too funny when the chubby Soviet Officer says "As a matter of fuck you're correct."

  • @TheEldweebo I totaly second that

  • lol in the 58 lincoln vs. cadillac the cadillac got 54% and the lincoln got 94% ummmm? so there saying theres 148%.................... right lol but there both american both classic and both old both get my vote!!!

  • anyone notice the front bumper is bent at beginning?

  • I would so love to have one of those cars. I had a '62 Connie a long time ago. I miss that car. I'd give almost anything for another 1960's Lincoln.

  • Only communists drive Lincolns, everybody knows that.

  • .... al that and 4 feet to the gallon.

  • the is one of the dumbest commercials i have evr seen. and i am a lincoln junkie. alwayd have ben.

  • The "shit" metal.

  • I wish cars were still like this big made of metal lots of chrome all i seeon the road is suv's it makes me sick i wanna see big wagons (why did i have to be born in the 90's WHYYYYYYYYYYYY ) :'(

  • they should of put a bomb in it for when the key turns lmao

  • The 1965 Lincoln Continental from The Matrix (1999) is for sale, there's a site for it at thematrixcar(dot)com

  • The temperature controls were the same design as the radio controls-they complimented each other. The A/C heat control was on the left of the steeling wheel w/the radio on the right. This ad must have been a dealer film. 8 minutes for a TV commercial?

  • HA!!!!

  • why was it talking about temp controls and showed the radio? lol old shit right here.....welcome to the cold war

  • The whole thing is DiiiiiiiiiiFFFFFFFFFFeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrent....STUPID FUCKIN' AD

  • corporate crap! the same company that charges double for a 4v engine!

düsi wouldnt have used drum brakes and leaf springs! two bad the other

crapitalists are still around too! not two mention any tuckiness!

  • Who made this ridiculous commercial?

  • look a 7 meter coupe ! with V8 ! for 90kmh highways ! how practical :D

  • boring!

  • This is awful.its a wonder they sold any cars.

  • I forgot just how much fun the old Soviets were! lol! Those suicide door Continentals still look good today!

  • Comment removed

  • that's a heck of a long TV commercial. Could it have been a dealer promo instead? The guy in the beard looks more like Ed "Big Daddy" Roth than a commie!!

  • Cute!

  • Awesome. Patriotic Americans choose Lincolns. That'll show those commies!

  • Рашен сам себе страшен!

  • i think the mark v was one of continentals best. ( albeit its horrible fuel economy)

very classy and elegant. yet business like and down to the point. like the business end of a Chicago typewriter. id take one over a dinky little prius any day of the month.

  • Capitalistic swine! I love this... "even in siberia, it will keep you warm as a bowl of hot borscht."

  • Great looking car but not as goodlooking as the gorgeous 1961-65 models. Those are the classic 1960s Lincolns.

  • Top 5 car

  • Not ugly. You want ugly, try '58-60.

But I agree partly. LATE '70s Lincolns - esp. my Town Cars - were incredibly handsome and distinguished.

Early '70s, however, were dull and mundane - although the Marks were OK (Mark III - GREAT).

  • This is one hell of a commerical! Where in the hell was this shown?

  • No matter what you morons say, the continental in 1961 changed the american automotive world forever. And thankfully so.

  • @mrbrandon71 did you know that 5476 people were killed in a car accident because of this car? think about it...

  • That has nothing to do with the fact that is inarguably changed the american car styling forever. You probably like rice, don't you sir???

  • @mrbrandon71 no sir i like beef

  • if 5476 people died because of this car somebody please buy this car and retire it. But be very careful driving it home.

  • ???? And how many died "because of" other car types?

Are you a Nader/nadir adherent? Not 1 mention of any "issues" with this car in all the histories I've read.

  • best lincoln of all time!

  • I hope it does not hit my Toyota!

  • 1969 buick electra would soon kill this car in everyway.....

  • Right up until Buick needed a bailout!!

  • I couldn't agree with you more I grew up with a white over yellow & white interior 69 Buick Electra 225 Convertible....the car was poetry in motion.

  • That's a loooong commercial.

  • The Mark III had only the 460 engine, not the 462 which was simply the earlier 430 bored out. AC became common in the late 50s on most luxury cars and was an option even in Lower priced sedans. By 1968, the first year of this Mark series, AC was very refined and was even available in a very well functioning Automatic Climate control. I have owned 4 of these beauties and it is truly one of Fords last GREAT cars.

  • Look at the steering wheel, it's a '66.

  • These WERE superlative cars. They were incredibly well built, a good example is still likely to be rattle-free today. A LOT of the stuff on cars today wasn't availabe at any price on cars then-an A/C was a Big Deal, so was an AM/FM radio. Disc brakes were STD on Lincolns that year. The reason they had such lousy mileage is that big 462 was pulling around 5400 lbs in the convertible-and they were capable of almost 130.100 was no problem at all-they felt like they'd run forever.

  • The Lincoln in the '60's were the most stylish automobile on the road. Even the hardened GM and Chrysler owners could not deny the Lincoln was a beautiful car.

  • lol this commercial is awesome. lol it kept me amused. I think I want one of those cars now. lol

  • I had a '66 coupe. It had a myriad of problems, but I put high flow mufflers on it and boy did that FE big block make a vulgar growl! I miss that car to this day, even if starting it used a quarter of a tank (BTW, Lasuvidaboy, the manual I had put the factory quote at 8 mpg, and I've never seen a 7 series convertible).

  • I meant a 6 series convertible. My friend's gets 10mpg in town.

  • Mileage was'nt that bad. In town it would get around 10 mpg and on the highway around 17 mpg. About the same as a BMW 7-series convertible today:)

  • I'm looking at a 66 right now looks like they passed on machine guns and ejector seat options... dam

  • xa xa rusian stupido!!

  • соси

  • Oy. I LOVE the design of those cars. That was by far the best era for Lincoln ever. Timeless beauty, just stunning.

I've really been a Caddy guy since I was a kid. My grandpa drove a Caddy, my dad sold GM cars. But this is the only Lincoln that really outshines most of the great things GM sold in the past. It's just THAT pretty.

  • yeah right some of the big block cars back then got better mileage than an suv now towing a boat my buddys dodge was only getting 8 to the gal without towing it only got 14 thats what alot of suvs and trucks get dont belive the sticker its an incorrect average by far if you stop and go or put the peddle down your gonna loose mileage big time........

  • the "suicide" door lincolns started with 61 which won a design award.. The cars were good for about 6-8 miles per gallon, had a power steering pump which also operated the windshield wiper arms .These cars also had some of the largest brakes ever put on a car.The engine was a 462 cu inch masterpiece too..61-67 there was a convertible 4 door available as well as a hard top coupe.69 being the last year before a conventional door setup was used

  • those Russians are pretty devious

  • Beautiful car...modern for 1966

  • "The lights are incorporated into the rear bumper!" Uhhhh ... and that's a good thing? ;)

    Thanks for posting this commercial.

  • Oh I'm sorry, are you one of those lame housewives that drives a HUGE SUV that you can never park or drive correctly. Yes, that is my opinion, the old 60's station wagons were pretty these SUV's IN MY opinion are ugly as shit.

  • Well put.

Samburger go back to the kitchen, or how about traffic school?

  • but what do you think of the car?

  • @DA90027 No shit loks better

  • @DA90027

4x4's r iritating because they r offroad vehicles used on road and never will see the dirt but these r bif luxurious barges and after all if I never use air travel cant I use my carbon quota by driving a gas guzzler?

bear in mind that 30% of carbon footprint of car is manufacture so keeping an old car offsets this and with LPG kits they can still be OK.

Also the whole climate change thing is a money making exercise to sell otherwise useless technologies.

  • @tpvalley Not to mention that selling and trading "Carbon" emissions credits is a Ponzi scam that would make Berni Madoff proud.

  • @OlegKostoglatov

they are if the rich keep poluting by using traded carbon from people who would never use it!

carbon dioxide is evidently NOT the main greenhouse gas as thought before.

  • This is just an annoying commercial.

  • Nice car but the 1961-65s were much better looking. The 1966- Lincolns were tanks.

  • This is an annoying commercial, but those cars were so smooth you felt like you were on a cloud. I'd rather drive this than some UGLY MODERN SUV that is ugly as shit and looks like a shoe box.

  • Ugly SUV that's ugly & looks like a shoe box? You think of that all by yourself?

  • and gets 1/2 a mile to the gallon

i think there may have been some older cars that got better millage.

  • What were those ad people smoking? 8 and a half minutes? It might have been clever for a minute, max. And that creep with the goatee can't decide between a Russian or Italian accent.

  • a 462 cubic inch engine? Back when gas was less than 35 cents a gallon! And the whole car was bigger than 1965's

The fellow who appears at 6:42 on the side of the road must be then-Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev.

  • The Ad agency had to be on LSD as said below by many. Who in their right mind would follow this type of advertisement! Really nice car. I preferred the later 60's and early 70's when they changed the back end though. And to think - now a company begging for tax dollar money to stay awake. Engineering, Fat Cats at the top, Unions, prohibitive labour rates, multiple duplicate lines and the Imports taking over........And the Lincoln now - boring blah and dull. Too bad.

  • What was the fuel mile? 12 miles to the nucking gallon?

Even Suburbans today can go longer on a gallon.

  • And your point is...?

In case you didn't notice, this is an old commercial. They didn't have 2009 Suburbans in 1966.

  • Ahhh, back in the day when the advertisement was about the CAR and not the fashion statement like today.

  • super de luxe

    5outa5

  • This commercial should be rated "R"

  • stupid fucking accent

  • Those '60s era Lincolns are beautiful. Especially with a shiny black paint job on it.

I saw one of these at the car show this summer, and HOLY CRAP, You really have to see the car in person to really appreciate it. This video doesn't do it justice.

  • A nice, heavy "Continatalsky" for running over capitalist masters who oppress the proletariat. LOL The ad agency had to be on drugs.

  • Everyone was doing LSD by about 1966. I throw my money in to bet the people who did this ad were on this drug.

  • at 0:18 camera is shaking :))

  • I like lincolns, and this car is really cool, BUT THIS AD is HORRIBLE ...

  • yes and have fun driving u shitty toyota

  • Lights at the rear bumper was used first by the '65 buick riviera, that wasnt new -.-!

  • It was new for the Lincoln, not the industry. Kind of like Dodge trucks "new" coil spring rear suspension.

  • At 1:16: "As a matter of fuck, you're CORRECT!" LOL!

  • I want that 2 door!.....but with the machine gun option mind you. Dang!..this is a movie. lol!

  • 4 all u MOFOS who say diss car lame.. how bout u hatin motha fuckers go look up the price of this car.. hahahahah $40K if in dicent shape u bitch ases

  • theres one on craigs list in black that's only $3000!!

  • my dream car,

  • This is such a cheesy ad and so long. Hard to believe they actually aired it. Also, the car apparently didn't come with a rearview mirror...

  • That thing is hardly luxurious

  • Nice car but the 1961-65 models were much better looking.

  • Agreed, The later models look too...cumbersome and bulky.

  • holy fuck, borat looked so different back then

  • I love Boats,, smooth rides,, Stylish,, hate these little plastic putt putts nowadays lol

  • You've a disposable razor blades? Well here's disposable cars! lol. I doubt any of these new cars will want to be saved in the later years. Except one modern car that I think will be a collectors item is the

'05-'06 Subaru Tribeca, since it was redesigned quickly because they the cool Alfa Romeo/Studebaker styled grill scared people away so the latest models have been toned down to the typical boring look. So the origional should be worth some money in 40 years.

  • @Dreambro1 I drive a 98 Continental She's the best car I've owned. I will never go without 4000lbs of hardened luxury american steel around me , ever again. And I am a canadian. I'm supposed to be "green" , or something....

  • @Dreambro1 I love handling, efficiency, speed and safety. Hate those old wallowing, gas guzzling, slow death trap dinosaurs put out in times past.

  • hhahaha 4 1/2 inches "sneaky americans" hahaha

  • This is actually a Dealer Promo for the salesman.

This is how they introduced new cars to the sales team.

  • Really? Interesting.

  • WOW! How advertising has changed!.... It would be interesting to see this vehicle in a high speed cop chase...wonder if the fleeing felons would use the optional machine guns? :)

I really like the Coupe' version.

  • Lincoln should bring back the continental

  • I love the optional rear mounted & concealed machine gun! Total Lincoln Luxury at its Finest!! LOL!

  • I love that Boat!

  • no seat belts needed in 66 ;)

  • I still own a 1969 which was touted as quieter than a Rolls Royce and an engine so smooth a full glass of champagne wouldn't vibrate on the hood. Alas, it requires 100 octane fuel and on a good day only gets 10 mpg. But it still glides as good as the day it was new.

  • This is not a commercial in my opinion. It might be some sort of promotional video for the dealerships or auto shows maybe, but definitely not a TV commercial... Too long...

  • even then they knew this car was pimpinn..

  • This isnt a commercial. It seems more like a tv show to me.

  • Why do you drive such a car with horrible luxuries?? Classic lines !

  • I love the 60's.For me it was the greatest time to live in.Car companys always pointed out the details As Bob Hope use to say Thanks for the memories!

  • This was a great Cold War era Ford Motor Co. marketing piece to orient its Lincoln - Mercury dealers' sales staffs to the redesigned 66 Lincoln. I wonder how they explained the rear view mirror which disappeared from scene to scene!

  • Nicely done!

  • continentalski!

  • New wheel covers...lol

    Its rims today, sadly.

  • were those options on the lincons of the 60´s? can we get something like that today?

  • *ROTFLOL* Introduzing ze Lincoln Continentalski for 1966! Funny video!

  • i agree, you never see commercials that long now A' days

  • Commercials back then were like movies
