It was never actually deemed a heritage building was it? I had heard that they were in the process of demolishing it and the fire just finished it off. Great video though. Kind of tragic.

it was very close to being declared one but it had become too derelict (the fault of the owner) to even consider it for full heritage status.

Apparently it took and hour and a half to get rid of the flames.
The commentary is pretty good at the beginning.

It was likely torched in order to reduce demo costs. But the strategy is backfiring on the ol' donkey .

We really suck at keeping our heritage buildings around. London England must be ashamed of it's little brother these days.
