  • Fuck you pinwheel!!!

  • i remember legends of the hidden temple, rugrats, the amanda show , doug, catdog, and are you afraid of the dark when i was 6 ...Bring IT ALL BACK NICK!!!!!!!!!

  • Christine Taylor was HOT when she was in Hey Dude! :)

  • Does anybody remember the old back to school special they showed on Nickelodeon in the 1980s? It featured puppets and a character who didn't want to go back to school. Does anybody know what I'm talking about and remember what it was called?

  • I miss them

  • YOu forgot Cousin Skeeter

  • old school? Maybe if your under 20. lol

  • I cant remember maybe 11 of them

  • @NickGASfan "Classic Nickelodeon" •All New "Nickelodeon's Challenge"!! •All New "All-Stars Nickelodeon's Challenge" With *"Get Of The Picture & Video" *"Guts" *"Nick Arcade" *"Keeping Finders" *Anything!! "Classic Nickelodeon"!! Day And "Nick At Nite Classic"!! Night Coming Soon...

  • It's funny that this stuff is classed as 90's nostalgia... here in Australia, we were digging this in the early 2000's. I loved Alex Mac (she wears a HAT!), 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd, Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Ren & Stimpy, Fairly Odd Parents, Kenan and Kel, etc.

Those of us born from 89 to 93 are kind of 'cusp kids'; part 90's, part 00's. Especially in backwaters like Australia.

  • nick didnt die in 1997 it died 2005 or 2007

  • I remember at least 20 of these refs...man I miss being in the early to mid 90s...

  • I remember most of these! Some I even forgot about until I saw this, like weinerville and alex mac :D Thanks for posting!

  • What! No Spartacus and the Sun Beneath the Sea??!! Cmon now!

  • how come back then they had the good shows now in this time we the crappy shows

  • they turned nicktoons into a second disney channel D8<

  • I'm curious why you people seem to think the "golden age" was only in the 90's. For me, the golden age of Nick was 1979-1990, pre-Nicktoons. I honestly hated Nicktoons when they came out because of the artstyle though now I can appreciate some of them. I'm sure today's generation of kids will consider the Nick of their childhood's to be the "golden age" too. Isn't it funny how nostalgia works?

  • @Enelar

Yeah, I know what your saying. I remember a few of the 80s shows as well like "You Can't do that on Television" but I earnestly think Nick peaked in the early 90s with Pete and Pete, Ren and Stimpy, Rocko, etc. Those were shows that didn't take kids intelligence for granted; they were clever, insightful and a little surreal, most of what i remember from the 80s was sliming and gag toilet humor (although that continues into the 90s as well).

  • @elementz1986 - YOU CANT DO THAT ON TELEVISION CAME OUT IN THE LATE 80'S? i THOUGHT THAT WAS BROM THIS EARLY 90'S ERA

  • @Enelar I've always thought Nick has been great all these years & still kind of is. I actually like iCarly & Ecspeially Big Time Rush b/c it's so over the Top just like Ned Declassifed was back when it was the air. Some of these shows are kind of eh but for the most part they've got some preety good shows. although I gotta say these shows have gotten a bit cruder in humor. In the last year & half they've been aloowing the girls on the show to talk about boobs on these shows. LOL!

  • @Enelar Nick was bullshit before the Nicktoons! Stop trying to be different..

  • I'm more of a 2000's person, but I've watched many, many of those shows.I remember those stuff from the 90's a lot because I know that those shows were more fun than any of the stuff today.

  • I remember most of these shows. Here's a little tidbit that I think a whole lot of people don't know: R. L. Stine (Goosebumps) worked on "Eureeka's Castle" for a time.

    ~Peace, over and out!~

    ~Anton~

  • who are the 6 ignorants hating on the best years of our childhood??

  • does anybody remember 1 Saturday Morning? i don't remember what all was on it, but i think doug was. possibly recess and rugrats.

  • holy shit, i remember watching the world of david the gnome!! i use to watch that when i was in kindergarten! god...where has the time go?? makes me wanna cry!

  • Make the Grade, Out of Control and The Tomorrow People don't ring any bells, but everything else does; however, space cases was an extreme fav. THANKS DUDE

  • @Kaidus4ce

Make the Grade and Out of Control are VERY vague memories of mine (probably from the late 80s/very early 90s) but The Tomorrow People ran later, probably around the same time as Space Cases. It was a weird little show nobody remembers about kids who teleport and something resembling a giant manhole cover...that's all I remember at least.

  • OMG...The Elephant Show! What a throwback! rofl!!

  • I saw where they are putting the shows on Teennick too, but are they only going to play All That, Kenan & Kel, Doug, and Clarissa Explains it all? I want to be able to see the others too!

  • @heavenson1000 Nicktoons network plays nothing but old nick shows. Also, No new episodes of Spongebob, The Fairly Oddparents, or the other old nick shows that still make new episodes.

  • Oh man now i remember fiveteen! I total forgot what that show was called until right now.

  • ATTENTION EVERYONE! Starting this MondaY @ MIDNIGHT, Nickelodeon will be airing all the shows of the 90's. (Shows like All That, Kenan & Kel, etc) Hopefully this won't just last for the rest of the summer, but from now on. So everyone tune in @ midnight, on Monday, to watch all your favorite shows as kids on Nickelodeon :)

  • @RodneyBernett2O11 I meant TeenNick everyone.

  • They are bringing all the good shows from nick back in the fall on teen nick, So check that out!

  • is it bad that i didnt know only 11 shows?

  • Rocket Power, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, & Salute Your Shorts, and MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Starting on July 25th on TeenNick, from 12-4am Central time will a block called The 90s Are ALL THAT! Shows to be included in the block are: Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, The ORIGINAL ALL THAT, The Amanda Show, Are You Afraid of the Dark? CatDog, Clarissa Explains It All, Double Dare, Doug, GUTS, Hey Arnold, Kenan & Kel, Legends of the Hidden Temple

  • I was born in 1991, so I remember most of them...my sister was born in 1985 and remembers pretty much all of them.

  • I truly do miss the 90's!!!

  • Those were the days :)

  • I'm a true 80's baby..I was born in 1980... I remember them all and loved them. I miss the 80's and 90's:( The shit they got now doesn't come close to the T.V. back then..

  • Damn that took me back, I wish Nick would create a channel that specifically showed these old shows, they could call it nostalgia nick lol

  • my bro knew these snows since nintendo and power rangers came out

  • Someone anyone needs to write to nickelodeon and tell them to either have a week were they show all the old nick shows like this or just put all the season of these shows on dvd so ppl like me can watch it again cause im sorry the shit they show on there and this also means nick jr too is just crap if i had kids i wouldn't let the watch nickelodeon ever also U FORGOT REN & STIMPY MAN!

  • @snickerdoodle66669

Yeah, I mentioned that I forgot Ren and Stimpy....definitely not on purpose though. Loved that show :)

  • @elementz1986 ima be honest i was born in 1993 and i dont remember most these shows i remember the famous ones like rockos modern life, hey arnold, ren and stimpy, rugrats, rocket power etc etc kenan and kel etc but ive been trying to watch movies ,listen to music to make me feel like im in the 90's and 80's and sometimes i get that feeling but watching this i got that feeling 100% thanks this year for school i had a flat top(i got an afro) and wore my clothes backwards like kris kross lol

  • @Militarymight101

Haha, cool. I remember one day in high school I dressed as Mike D from the Beastie Boys (80s version with the hat and VW chain) cause I was a hopeless white kid. That was a bit before my time as well but I sure as hell didn't wanna be Vanilla Ice, ha. Yeah I was like 6 when you were born so I remember '93. Music, particularly hip hop in the early 90s was unbeatable...too bad we weren't born earlier.

  • @snickerdoodle66669 they need to have a channel like boomerang but it has ALL classic cartoons/shows. Like All that or cartoon network's fosters home for imaginary friends.

  • @snickerdoodle66669 they have it, my sister dvr-ed a bunch of alex mack and all that. stick stickley did the count down this year.

  • OMG I forgot all about Clarissa Explains It All. I Loved that show. Then she went on to Sabrina The Teenage Witch. Good times!

  • i was born in 1998, i know all of these... i have all tapes and stuff and older brothers and sisters born in the 80's, but i dont know why but i know ALL of these

  • Mapple Town: Epic

    Count Duckula: Wicked

    Cat Dog: Sick

  • I was born in 82. I remember all of those shows. Salute your shorts was the best!

  • I was born in 1994. I remember alot of these shows even though I was young. I miss them :/ My favorite 90's show's were: All That, The Angry Beavers, Cat Dog, Double Dare, Doug, Figure It Out, Get The Picture, Hey Arnold! (my favorite!), Kenan & Kel, Legends Of The Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, Guts, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Pete & Pete, & The Wild Thornberry's. (:

  • Summer sanders was my first love. Alex Mac was hot too

  • @jlh6310 agreed

  • Excuse me while I go find a Time Machine.

  • real nickelodeon

  • Lots of fond memories. Thank you for an EXCELLENT post!

  • Man those were the best of the best when i was a kid nowadays you got shit for kids television all you got are those fucking stupid twin living in a hotel suite, britney spears skanky whore of a sister zoey 101, that punk ass i carley bullshit, drake and josh, and Last but not least, the worst of the lots that fucking FAGGOT Justin Bieber!!! God im glad i got to live out my childhood. I feel bad that the kids now are not gonna know what true kids televion was once was.

  • Ew, i just remembered a nasty scene from Rocko's modern life when that frog dude pulled out a condom and chased his wife, Ick, those dang shows!!! :D

  • @HashSlashGamer Lol, wow. Really? Are you sure it was a condom? now i'm looking for that haha

  • @iluhbeh Yep, i'm sure it was a condom, too bad I can't remember the episode :(

  • Kids these days don't know about TV. This video is such a slap of nostalgia.

  • Dude Are You Afraid Of The Dark Use To Scare The Shit Out Of Me When I Was A Kid

  • @Showbert1 if you watch it now you laugh cuz its sooooooooooooooo not scary even though i use to creep myself out when i watched it lol

  • @Showbert1

    yeah especially that intro

  • Most of the live action stuff Nickelodeon did outside of game shows was really stupid, tbh.

I miss getting up on Saturday mornings to a bowl of Peanut Butter Crunch and Nick Arcade. Good times...

  • The Golden Age started in 1991? Nah. I say it started earlier.

  • Alex Mac was hot.

  • omg i used to watch alex and legends of hidden temple i used to luv dese shows!!!cat and dog was ma fav game on net!!lol!!miss old nick!!!!

  • Oh man, David the Gnome! Blast from the freaking past.

  • the oldest show that's still on from the 90's is spongebob....1999

  • Im happy I was born in 84 and still remember 95% of the good stuff from nick.

  • I miss you soooo much Classic Nickelodeon! Now not even the freaking Nicktoons, Teen Nick, or Nick Jr. play these anymore! The 90s were the glory days of cartoons and TV in general and I'll miss it more than you'll ever know! *sobs*

  • man i was like 8 years old so it was great at the time. unlike the soft shows nowadays! crappy icarly and hannah montana, etc, etc. old nick need to be re-run and have its own channel.

  • PETE & PETE WERE THE SHIIIITTTT

  • the show that fucking ruined nick was zoey101

  • @uglycorny9

Oh, it was ruined long before that.

  • @elementz1986 It was ruined for me right around the time Rocket Power came out. I thought that show was stupid.

  • @uglycorny9 Pretty much Nick had a before and after Spongebob timeline, Spongebob was the beginning of the end.

  • @sdfgsfgbvdfv I can see why, but i was born in 1996. I was used to fairly odd parents, danny phantom and stuff. but for u olded people, i can see why.

  • @uglycorny9 yep me 2. those shows are old school 2 me too.

  • @uglycorny9 i know what ya mean that was the first show that tried the whole teenage thing for nick

  • Wow...t.v. has really gone to hell since then...

  • i loved all of these shows! I miss these cartoons & shows , kids these days don't know what they are missing.

  • Man, now you've got me feeling nostalgic. I didn't watch all of those shows, but I remember them all. I'm 29 now, so by the mid-90's I had pretty much outgrown Nickelodeon, but I watched most of the shows from the 80's and early-90's. I'm a preschool teacher now and I can't believe the crap my student's watch now. That's what passes for children's television nowadays? The golden days of quality programming for children is definitely in the past. Kids today don't know what they missed.

  • Ya the nickelodeon shows today are really lame!!!

  • what is the name of the second song in this video?

  • You forgot Ren & Stimpy you fucking idiot

  • @XPTPCREWX

Read the commentary in the video you dolt.

  • @XPTPCREWX Did you really just reach a level of anger enough to call someone a "fucking idiot" over a cartoon..? And not even a good one at that..? Christ, the people on the internet, go make your own video you turd.

  • @XPTPCREWX relax bro

  • O MAH FREAKIN GAWSH RUGRATS IS COMIN BACK

dang i miss all that, angry beavers, catdog, hey arnold and legends of the hidden temple. 1 of my friends was on guts. really lucky friend

but about rugrats its been coming on by popular demand in the morning during the week. ill never forget u nickelodeon. R.I.P.

  • Nickelodeon's getting EXTREMELY LAZY with their shows now. I think political correctness is causing shows to suck now. People start complaining about how "it's racist" or "intolerant". SHUTUP!

  • i remember all these shows, i use to live off of them, i am 28 and loved everylast one lol its fun to look back and see where you came from and what you though was entertaiment when we were younger.

  • dont hate on angry beavers!!!!

  • Catdog came out in 2000 as well as some other shows.... I think you're actually looking at nick from 1991 - 2004 because thats when hey arnold and catdog ended

  • pete & pete kicked so much ass!

  • yay! TY I love the vid!

  • you know i was born in '83 and to me i remember every one of those shows i still cannot believe how far cartoons have fallen its truly amazing how crappy they are now. i miss the 80's and early 90's cartoons. they were one of a kind and had a charm that i believe can never be recaptured. to much is done on computers now.

  • Man this made me cry. I'VE JUST COME TO TERMS THAT MY LIFE LONG DREAM TO BE ON LEDGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE WILL NEVER COME TRUE!!! I miss 90's nickelodean, in fact i miss the 90's peroid.

  • man this TLC song brings me back more then the shows...

  • Awesome compilation!! I loved all of those shows . . . Born in 87', but those shows are childhood memories!! Too bad television isn't the same these days . . .

  • legends of the hidden temple. LOL I still remember that corny host and that freaky talkin totem.

    good times :)

  • what was the show called with the two puppets who work at a burger

  • Angry beavers was awesome! I'm rewatching them on netflix along with Hey arnold!

  • As far as live-action shows go, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, and Kenan and Kel (although it was much later), really stand out as amazing example of programming.

  • @tetrisclock

Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Are you Afraid Of the Dark, Round House (too quickly canceled) are all fantastic shows but lets not forget You Can't Do That On Television, AWESOME show. I also liked Fifteen as well, I mean the acting was atrocious, truly it was, but I still have fond memories of that show. It took me looking up episodes here to find out-OMG, THAT'S RYAN REYNOLDS!!! LOL

  • -Angry Beavers: 1997 Too late for me.

-Allen Strange: 1997 Again, too late for me.

-Catdog: 1998 Too late; doesn't apply to me.

-Count Duckula: Barely ran on Nickelodeon. I don't even remember seeing it.

-Figure it Out: I remember watching it when I was 9 or so, but it still seems late in Nickelodeon's best years of programming.

-Hey Arnold: I know a lot of people consider it to be classic Nickelodeon, but I never did. Even when I was a kid, I felt like the best years of cartoons had passed.

  • @tetrisclock

Yeah, I actually agree about what you said about Hey Arnold.

  • I don't know what it is about Hey Arnold. There were some shows that came out around the same period, like Kenan and Kel, that felt so much more Nickelodeon than Hey Arnold.

It's like they were trying to force too much "meaning" and "relevance" into the show, or something. I'll take the wacky, slapstick surreality of Ren and Stimpy or Rocko's Modern Life any day over Hey Arnold.

  • Honestly, the only "cartoony" thing about Hey Arnold was the fact that their heads were all shaped oddly.

Speaking of Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life, they were the two shows on Nickelodeon my parents flat out hated. I can understand Ren and Stimpy, but I don't get what parents had against Rocko's Modern Life. Most of my friends even say that their parents hated that show as well.

  • @tetrisclock

What are you talking about? Count Duckula was on Nick every day, at least when I was a kid. A couple of times they even had Count Duckula marathons!

  • @tetrisclock how was Angry Beavers too late for you?

  • Just feels like everything around 1997 and onward was past the golden age of Nickelodeon.

  • @tetrisclock

I can agree with that Nickelodeon, Alternative Rock and Hip Hop all went downhill in 1997.

  • I owned that water gun.

  • dudee, you've got everything accept COUSIN SKEETER ! & i totally forgot about weinerville ! lol thanks for the vid !!!!!!

  • Wasn't Cousin Skeeter later though? Like around 2000, or something?

  • I still have my Orange VHS nick shows.lol

  • I miss the mid/late 1980s Nickelodeon shows more, but that was the Nickelodeon era from when I was a kid.

  • is weinerville listed in this video

  • @pacmanlegend

    yes

  • In my opinion I think nickelodeon started to go bad when rocket power wild thornberries rugrats got canceled and when Jimmy nuetron stopped showing

  • i strongly disagree with the inclusion of the angry beavers, wild thornberries and catdog...these shows marked the decline of "good nickelodeon"...as for the rest AWESOME. haha

  • @atpiskai

Yeah, I actually agree. I mostly included them to appease the younger folks. I think I was in 4th grade when the angry beavers and catdog came out but I really wasn't a fan even then. Rocko's Modern Life was the last great Nicktoon IMO.

  • @elementz1986

haha I accept that then. Thanks for the rationale

  • @elementz1986 I don't know.... I think Angry Beavers wasn't as horrible as Catdog and Wild Thornberries....certainly not as great as others, but I wouldn't call it a contributor to the decline.

  • @MrWiseguy06 i agree with you i think catdog and the thornberries were awful shows but the angry beavers wasn't as bad as them!! the best shows were rocko's ML, real monsters, kenan and kel :D at least for me..

  • @elementz1986

i was born in 1990. and you cant count out Hey Arnold. That was a great show

  • @atpiskai what wen yakkity yak came owt is when fans started 2 hate nick but i loved yakkity yak i started hating nick in 2009 maybe because that was when i outgrew nick

  • I'm looking for an old show I used to watch. I forgot the name of it and was wondering if I described it,maybe someone would recognize it and tell me the name of it. I think it was on Nickelodeon, but not sure. The main thing I remember from the show was this old guy sitting in an old, dusty, cobwebbed wingback chair with a stuffed crow perched on the top. He would sit there and tell corny jokes and stuff. It also had characters of dracula, frankenstien, etc. Thank you.

  • No, you're pulling shows from back in the 80 when I watched it, so the Golden Age was from about the midish 80s and in my own opinion ended WAY before 97....prolly around 94 or so....LOL

  • @crimzonchyld

Bc I kind of remember some of those 80s shows. To me Nickelodeon peaked with The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Ren and Stimpy, Rockos Modern Life, The original Rugrats, etc. It was all about those weird, quirky, slightly surreal....somethign Spongebob tries to do but fails at miserably. (so possibly the early 90s)

  • @elementz1986

OMG I remember the premiere of Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, and Doug, I think those were the last truly great Nick shows before things started going downhill. I only saw a few episodes of Rocko's Modern Life and for me it was kind of....meh.

Though I was a big fan of Round House and Are You Afraid of the Dark, which is way better than Goosebumps. Come to think of it that's about the time MTV started really sliding too, makes sense they're part of the same company.

  • @crimzonchyld

Yeah I agree about the Nick/MTV parallel. Although I disagree about Rocko being meh.....that show had some very clever humor/innuendos that you don't get until you are older. Personally, I was much less enthusiastic about Ahh! Real Monsters and Hey Arnold in the mid 90s. I was still very young then but they just didn't have the same appeal to me.

  • @elementz1986

I just was never into Rocko, I liked his accent and the few episodes I saw I thought he seemed kind of sweet but I just never got into it. Never was into Real Monsters or Hey Arnold. I really liked the show Fifteen but even back then I was like, this is SO not realistic!

Heh, I even used to watch Nick at Night when it was all old black & white shows like Donna Reed, The Patty Duke Show, Mr Ed. Ah memories.

  • @crimzonchyld I loved watching Nick at Nite!

The patty duke show was my favorite I used to sing the theme song all the time...Mr ed was a great one too...

  • @Babs22h

Yeah, I loved the Patty Duke Show too and Mr Ed, such great old shows!

  • @crimzonchyld did you ever watch Bewitched or Make room for daddy(the danny thomas show)? Loved those ones too...

My three sons and the Mary Tyler Moore show were a faves of mind and of course Lassie!

  • @Babs22h

I used to watch Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, The Munsters, Lassie, Leave It To Beaver, and my all time favorite, The Addams Family. I never saw Make Room For Daddy though nor Mary Tyler Moore. I remember that My Three Sons was on during the hours of the Donna Reed Show and Patty Duke but I only occasionally watched that one. I remember in the 80s when they aired The New Leave It To Beaver and it was actually good, ran for 4 seasons, I really liked it.

  • I remember when I was a kid, I'd diligently turn the TV off when Nick at Nite came on, but gradually, I started watching some of the shows, and eventually I loved all those shows:

    -I Dream of Jeannie

    -Bewitched

    -Gilligan's Island

    -I Love Lucy

    -The Wonder Years

    -The Munsters

  • @tetrisclock

See, now you make me feel old because The Wonder Years was a prime time show when I was a kid. Yep, I was there when it premiered and Winnie Cooper had those too long braids and huge glasses.

Ah, but I Love Lucy, I used to like that when I was a younger kid but around the time I was watching Nick At Night I didn't really care for it, later on I started liking it again. OMG, I JUST remembered I used to watch the Danny Thomas Show too!

  • I had no conception of prime time or scheduling when I was a kid. I just sorta flipped channels and watched what I wanted, usually centering around Nickelodeon though.

  • @tetrisclock

Ha, I had to look at your profile to see how old you are out of curiosity. I was TEN when you were born. Thoooouuuugh, you do have excelent taste in movies I must say. I don't think my profile says my age . . . it just says Harry Potter over and over because after Okcupid, myspace, MSN, Yahoo and the 57 AOL accounts I've had WAY back when I had AOL, I'm burned out on writing my profile.

  • @Babs22h

I just remembered I use to watch The Danny Thomas Show, not make room for Daddy but just the Danny Thomas Show, I really liked that show.

  • Wow..i remember 44 of those shows! Miss them! = ]

  • @shelbug529 I'm looking for an old show I used to watch. Thank you.

  • Wow..i remember 44 of those shows! Miss them! = ]

  • I remember a good many of these shows. Back when Nick was good... when ideas were original, childhood was sacred and innocent, and the world was a happier place. What happened?

  • wheres seven cities of gold

  • RIP Nickelodeon (1991-1997)

  • This was a wonderful stroll down memory lane. You rock for making and uploading this. :D

  • @Clownfreaks

No problem, glad you enjoyed it :)

  • yea you left out ren and stempy just make another one...this is still good though even the music goes with it...the good ol days i miss em

  • sigh I remember waatching doug.... I remember the movie to!

  • best video ever

  • Dude, most of these shows were on the disney channel.

  • @Westipher

No, they were all on Nick at some point.
