@madmouse71 its equal to Rail Simulator - yes its almost 10 years old now but still very well supported by the anoraks, I mean, sim community - especially if you run it off XP and add a RailDriver Cab Controller - then its awesome.

You will need EA games Rail Simulator first to be installed and then the Rail Simulator expansion pack Voyager. If you have Windows Vista make sure the software is compatible.

I have just been given EA games Rail simulator as a present.

There seems to be many similarities with Microsoft although your coverage of the game here seems to be operating a little faster than mine. Is this because Mirosoft is a better game or is your computer really fast?

I have both Microsoft and Rail Simulator. I prefer RailSim as the graphics are better and it is more realistic in general. As for the speed I'm not sure what you're saying. My computer does handle MSTS extremely well and it is pretty good with RailSim as well.

@xfireballl5  Actually Kuji and Microsoft worked together to make Train Simulator. Rail Simulator was born when the first Train Simulator 2 was cancelled and Kuji continued working on their version.

What exactly fo you mean, Voyager or Pendo Simulator? MSTS has them, Trainz has them and Railworks has the Voyager with the Pendo soon.

MSTS is the older simulator. MSTS 2 has been cancelled. The newest one is Rail Simulator. I recommend this if you have a PC that can run it.

If you want to make money and run a business go for Railroad Tycoon.

i got flight simulator x a couple years ago, and when i installed it it worked horribly. very low frame rate. would this perform the same way?

This game is a lot older so in theory you should get better performance but the real world is a lot more messy. For instance, my PC plays FSX very nicely yet it still struggles at times for MSTS so you could give this try - it's not a very expensive game to buy anyway.

If your still got the recipt you can get a refund surely, either that or try re-installing it because it could be as simple as a runtime error etc...

Ok good vid, but it's not absolutely realistic though is it? Because no.1 the voyager is not a diesel train but an electric one, and no.2 here in the UK we have left hand running for trains, not right hand running as shown here. Although I understand these might be more down to the limitations of MSTS.

noo Pendolino's are deisel:1.they don't have pantographs and 2. my sister goes on a pendolino every month.

You'll either find them on uktrainsim or from add on packs which you'll have to buy - This Voyager is from the East Coast Express add on although you can find a free Voyager available on UKTS.

east coast part two comes with a virign voyager, but when you get leeds loop, it changes, an for london south coast add on it says Brightob abd front and Birnmingham NS on back, same livery as voyager on EC2 and leeds loop.
